Great fish. Lovely server, just a bit slow. We like it a lot, a favorite for us .
The food was awful. Cauliflower appetizer didn’t taste like one. Pasta dishes were overwhelming ( not in a good way)...
Octopus dish was so bland and not appetizing.
We will never go back to this place. I haven’t had such a bad meal in awhile...
The service was friendly, but they were out of several items on the menu and the bartender worked very slowly...
Looking for a last-minute late lunch spot with grandparents and decided on Kitchen. It had an "exceptional" rating on Resy. The food ranged from very uninspired to just plain old not good. The potato latkes were dreadful--hard and dry, almost needed a steak knife to cut through them. The guacamole on the avocado toast had the color and consistency of pre-fab bulk guacamole from Costco. The grilled cheese was the only competent entry. The service was extremely slow and the space needs a facelift. Go elsewhere.
They were very understaffed, resulting in poor service.
We both had the burger, which was delicious, so cant fairly comment on the menu. But it's a nice place, the service was vert good (attentive but not overbearing). Wish there were a larger beer selection. Would def go again. Right across from the cobble Hill cinema.
First time at this place, and I loved it! I was not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised with the service and food! My waiter could have not been kinder, he let me taste three wines before I made a decision, and recommended a delicious salmon dish. My fish was cooked perfectly with crispy skin and smooth bean succotash on the side. The service was friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed this place, and will be back!
The restaurant was closed even though I was able to make a reservation.
The food listed on the menu sounded delicious. The server could not have been kinder and more attentive. However, the food took almost and hour to come although the place was basically empty; and once it did come, the food seemed as though it had been prepared by someone other than the chef. There was no presentation, no skill. It was so confusing, given the cute space and location. Five stars for the wait staff tho!
Pleasant and convenient “go to” place for after movies meal with friends. Our dinner companions really enjoyed their Chicken Parmesan, my husband and I were less enthusiastic about our burgers (both the salmon and beef) finding them very greasy. Nice service from the staff. In the past we loved their chicken soup with meat dumplings!
Good food, friendly service, attractive space.
The food was fine, but the service was poor. We had to ask multiple times to order and remind the wait staff about drinks. They also seemed to have issues fulfilling other reservations, although that wasn’t an issue for us. They seemed to be short staffed which was likely the issue, but made brunch less enjoyable.
Came here for mothers day breakfast. Ordered 2 things for my 4 yr old niece. Waitress comes back 10 min later saying no more grilled cheese and then comes back 5 min later saying no fruity cereal either - claiming a menu change. But why wouldn't you print a new menu for mothers day when there will be a high turnover? Anyway - she got avocado toast, which was burnt & they tried to cover up by putting the avocado on the burnt side, classy. Asked for coloring book and crayons for my niece which our waitress never got. They had tall glasses for water and they kept filling my nieces all the way to the top. She is 4!! You cannot fill large glasses with water for kids. Food was tasty but portions were small. We ordered ice cream, they cleaned the entire table, taking all of our drinks and served us ice cream.
And then to top it all off at the end of the meal they give me the check and tell me they only want an Amex card or cash and if I dont have cash on me there is an ATM in the back. Newsflash I dont own an Amex and my debit card is in another borough, way to make me look like a jerk on Mother's day when I am trying to take my mom out. After I informed the server that I can't pay then she decided that my MasterCard was fine to take. What? If you only take a certain payment you need to include that information on your web site and on your menu, that is business 101. Not impressed, won't be back.
The menu looks interesting but the cooking does not deliver. Mediocre food. Overpriced ($8 for a side of what was basically Oscar Meier bacon?). Badly prepared.
And the service wasn't great. They got our order wrong. Then argued with us about what we did and did not order.
There are so many good brunch places. This is not one of theml
Food was not disastrous but the service was comical! Wait staff were nice enough but seemed perplexed by their jobs.. handed us coffee with large lipstick stain on cup; spilled sauce all over table when putting down plates; incorrect coffee orders.. not terrible but not need to go back here.
Perhaps some staff training would be good.
Food was fair at best. Lemon chicken was swimming in oil.
Not worth it! Terrible service and food was only so so.
Such a cute spot! The food, drinks, and atmosphere are good. However, they only accept cash and AMEX. Something we didn't know until the check came.
Remember to bring cash. Kind of ruined a nice dinner canceling dessert and drinks then scrounging around for enough cash to pay the bill.
Amazing Latkes, outstanding Carrot Cake + service with a smile...
The salmon was superb, cooked exactly right and the vegetables with it were great
Our waitress was right to recommend it
We were impressed and will return
We went on a Saturday night and the restaurant was pretty empty since it was only 6 pm. However, the service was slow at several points and our server was very unattentive despite the restaurant not being busy. Only after we were done with our appetizers were we informed that one of the entrees we ordered was unavailable. The check took forever to come and then even longer for it to be processed.
The food is very good but the service isn't great. Very slow. One waitress asked us if we wanted a refill on coffee, we said yes and then it took her a long time to come back with the coffee.
This was the second time I was at the restaurant for Sunday brunch - it wasn't horribly busy and it took a half an hour from the time we ordered - eggs and latkes - until we got our food. The serving portion this time seemed smaller from the first time I ordered it about 2 months ago.
Also, for $13 I think along with the two eggs and latkes, you should get toast or something else to make it seem like more of a value. I ordered a side of spinach for $6 and the amount was like the size of my palm.
We’ve been here for brunch and had a great experience, but this time, it took 1 hour for the appetizers to come out and 1.5 hours for the main meals!
My food was good, but certain parts were cold (home fries). They only take Amex and cash, which I didn't realize beforehand. I wish this was stated at the beginning
The worst service I have experienced in years. It took literally an hour and a half on a quiet afternoon to get a small bowl of cut up fruit, then the salad came without potatoes because they had "used them all in the hashbrowns", and the "very large" salad that we had decided to share between two people based on the server's recommendation turned out to be teeny tiny. To try to make up for it they gave us hashbrowns on the house, which we devoured, starving. Food is tasty but we left annoyed, frustrated and hungry. Imagine if they were busy. Will not go back.
Good for kids
Timing of food needs improvement
Great for Sunday brunch.
I made a reservation for Sunday brunch through Open Table and arrived at the restaurant to find that it was closed that day.
It was a new place so still finding its legs food-wise. Great with the kids jn our party.
My wife & I celebrated our 2nd Year Anniversary at Kitchen at Cobble Hill. The service was outstanding and quick (which I like). The interior of the restaurant is interesting - a very sleek and modern layout but remains true to its American roots. The menu offers a little bit of everything ; vegetables, fish, meat. I suggest that everyone try the smoked salmon.
The only regret that I have is only ordering 1 scoop of the raspberry chocolate chip ice cream. Customers have the option of ordering either 1 or 2 scoops. Even if you do not feel you have room for 2 scoops, order it anyway. Your tastebuds will ensure that both scoops do not go to waste. I would also suggest to top it off with their espresso, which is fantastic.
I highly recommend dining at Kitchen at Cobble Hill.
There was not enough wait staff when we got there, the calamari that was served to was a handful of crumbs that was not fresh. Overall, it was a tough eating experience and will not return.
Loved the food and the atmosphere. Prices were very reasonable. The service was a bit under par. It took too long for our order to be taken. Then, they got my meal wrong. A replacement came quick enough. But, we had to chase down the server to get a bill and pay it. And, there were only 3 other parties there. Not a busy night!
Excellent food and service. Nice selection for brunch/lunch. Great eggs Benedict and pancakes.
The potato latkes were overly hard to cut as if deep fried twice and blackish on the inside. The back phenomena is easily remedied by either grating your potatoes with onion or squeezing out the water with a cheese cloth snd quickly mixing it with the egg after that. The apple sauce and yoghurt served with it was very good but a tiny portion compared to the two large pancakes. The roadt chicken more than made up for the potato pancakes. Crispy and juicy and flavorful and a huge portion. Vegetables served with it were also excellent. Best of all was an outstandingly delicious honey layered cake. Moist, dense and so flavorful its addictive.
The location was lovely, the staff was attentive. Unfortunately, the Matzo balls were closer to cannon balls, and the latkes were soggy and bland, rather than crisp and flavorful. The restaurant has great potential, but the food needs an immediate redo.
Kitchen has become our go to place for brunch.- really nice menu with lots of options and well priced.
The Benedict is really good and the homedriws made with squash are delicious.
Food was solid, but overall nothing special.
This was my first time at the spot. The food was very good and lots of vegetarian options. The only thing I didn't love was the sandwich bread that was served as a bread plate but the rest was very good. I would go back for sure.
This place is underwhelming, there is nothing remarkable about it. There are many wonderful restaurants in the area, I say skip it.
