Kitchen 519 Ratings and Reviews
Based on reviews, I decided to give this restaurant another try on a Saturday night. I dined here once before and was underwhelmed. However, not underwhelmed enough to write a review...I never write reviews. My wife ordered fish and I ordered steak. Our Salads and Soup were good...had the Reuben soup and it was interesting and definitely something I would eat again. Our main courses were way too salty. You don’t have to over season a nice piece of fish nor a steak. I mentioned it to a server and they asked if I wanted to speak to manager. I said it wasn’t necessary. She could see that my wife barely touched her food. I always finish my steak and this was just too salty. We ordered dessert and when we got the check, we had to pay for everything. I think in this industry, you have to do more for your customers and you missed the mark here. This place is way overrated compared to many places I’ve dined throughout New Jersey, Philly and the Country. I felt you needed an honest review.
One of my favorite places. I ordered the salmon special and
For the first time i was not satisfied it was dry , over cooked the flavor combinations were good. Just unfortunate
I told the server and didn’t even finish the dish but got no feedback from the chef
I’ll still go back. Not as often though and if I order fish I’ll make sure to mention to make sure it’s not overdone I’ve had too many good meals there
Dinner was great! We started with the garlic Parmesan fries, which were amazing (the dill dipping sauce was delicious). I had the Caprese Chicken Pasta, while the husband chose the Gouda Mac and cheese. The portions were good-sized, without being too much food. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and split a fried Oreo sundae for dessert. Needless to say we were both stuffed. Our server was polite and helpful, checking in at all the right times. The dining space is small, so it can get a bit noisy when it’s a full house. The ambiance is cozy and both family friendly and perfect for a date night. We’ll be returning for sure!
This happens to be my favorite restaurant right now and it's always the first place I recommend to people. Most importantly, the food is VERY good and creative! I've never had a dish here that I didn't like. Everything has always been perfect in flavor and presentation. Secondly, the staff is awesome. Every waiter I've ever had here has been super nice and professional and even funny and entertaining sometimes. It's very clean, small but not over crowded and very comfortable. It's truly a great find! Kudos to the chef and owner (not sure if they are the same person lol)!
This was my first time dining here. The first impression was very good. Cute, kitschy decor and very friendly staff. The brunch menu was diverse and reasonably priced. Told the staff that my friend and I hadn’t seen each other in awhile and might linger. They were very accommodating. The food was delicious. I had the coconut French toast and my friend’s pork roll and egg sandwich looked great (thick Texas toast and cheese). I will definitely return.
Have been to Kitchen 519 on a few occasions including New Years eve 2016. All were pleasant experiences. Unfortunately this visit was negatively affected by a group of 10-15 who were obnoxiously loud from our arrival time on a Saturday at 4pm. Although the wait staff were apologetic nothing appeared to have been done to address this group. Our meals were terribly delayed and at meals end we couldn't get out of there fast enough. At least one couple requested their seats moved. Our table included two people who had not previously visited Kitchen 519 and I'm afraid they never will again.
I choose to meet a friend at Kitchen 519 After having a great meal there for the first time two weeks ago. Overall our meal was very mixed. The buffalo cauliflower celery salad appetizer was fantastic, my salmon over spinach entree was very good, but my girlfriend got the short rib gnocchi dinner special and it was really awful. The gnocchi were way too big, way too dry, and flavorless. And the short rib was dry. We dine out quite a bit and have never sent an entrée back to the kitchen but there was no way she was going to force her way through that plate. After a great experience the week before, I was really disappointed to see that they were passing off this dish as a special.
Kitchen 519 for my 2 experiences were nothing short of great! Both times I ate there, the service was amazing and all the staff carried themselves well and were extremely polite and professional. Food (although took some time due to the busy hour) was amazing, and you could tell how organic and home made it all was. It wasn't your typical frozen food to oven to table dining, it was farm to fork and impeccable.
This was our first time at Kitchen 519 and the food was excellent, fresh and healthy. We will certainly be back again to try other items on their menu. Our server Jordan was great and explained any questions we had as well as provided great recommendations based on what we were in the mood for.
Since this was our second time there, we clearly liked it the first time. The food never disappoints. We both had a cup of the Reuben soup; you use a spoon, even though is thicker than most soups. It was our first time trying that soup; we would both get it again. My S/O had a seafood Alfredo pasta dish, which was not only excellent, but the pasta was infused with the seafood flavor. I absolutely enjoyed a flank steak entree that came with garlic parmesan frites. As delicious as her dish was, when she tasted my frites, she jokingly wished she had ordered something that came with them.
We will go back again. The service was decent, but the first time it was outstanding. And, it can be a bit noisy, when other patrons don't realize that they are the only ones there. However, the food is far too good to let that stop you from going again and again.
