Kisaku was a very nice Japanese style restaurant. The service was very good. The food isn’t true Japanese or even Japanese American. It caters to very Anglo American tastes. The food was good.

Chef Jason is an artist. We sat at the bar and had omakase and he wowed us with every bite! Beautiful ingredients mixed together for a flavorful meal made just for you!

Fish is good, service is indifferent but it's a neighborhood place... I'll be back.

It’s hard for me not to compare to my usual favorite sushi place. I went here on the recommendation of a friend and while the food was good and the rolls are unique and different, the fish itself wasn’t as flavorful as I’m used to, the nigiri pieces are a lot smaller, and the rolls in general had less fish than I’m used to having within the roll.

The salad is unique with the potato, but there wasn’t anything I had (and I had a LOT) that I’m going to go back for in lieu of my usual spot.

Service was great, I was never wanting for water or waiting too long for my food. My only concern was my salmon roll at the table didn’t have wasabi already in it, but my to go salmon rolls did, for some reason.

Kisaku never disappoints. The sushi chef/owner is always a delight and is very good at his craft. I highly recommend Kisaku, but be sure to make a reservation. They're constantly booked up. :)

It was a recommendation, the restaurant looked nice. Took a very long time to have someone take our order (30 + mins). When asked for sauce with our appetizer it never came. The sushi was ok but tasted more like airport sushi. And when bill came it took 15 minutes for someone to come pick up our bill and another 10 to get my card back.

I keep this delicious sushi place for a special date night. The staff is excellent and other customers are kind, even the occasional kids are very well behaved. Sometimes it's worth it to make a reservation.

I was disappointed with our lunch as I remember this place previously being good. We ordered a bunch of sushi and all of it was bland. It all tasted the same. And I know my sushi - grew up in SF and have been eating it for 30 years. I hope I just caught them on a bad day as I really like the ambiance.

Kisaku has been my "go to" Japanese restaurant for over 10 years. The fish is consistently fresh and wonderful. Nestled in the neighborhood of Tangletown, near Green Lake, it is not a showy downtown restaurant. Yet if you love sashimi, sushi and many specialty dishes that you find in a sushi restaurant, Kisaku is the place. The prices are reasonable, the service is top notch and the owner, Nikano san, is terrific.

The only problem is parking. It is on-street and not easy, but not impossible. We have been going to Kisaku for lunch mostly when the parking is much better.

Kisaku has been my go-to Sushi/Japanese restaurant for over 10 years. The fish is consistently fresh and excellent. The owner/sushi chef, Nikano, has been overseeing a terrific restaurant since he opened Kisaku. We had the Chau en mushi for the first time in a couple of years; it was fabulous. The otoro was out of this world and the house cured ikura was outstanding and needing a second helping.

If you want superb sashimi or sushi at a reasonable price at a neighborhood restaurant, go to Kisaku. My wife and I also enjoy going there for lunch, which always includes miso soup and a small salad. We usually order Chirashi for lunch which provides a nice variety of raw fish, vegetables and rice.

Went to this restaurant with two of my friend from Japan. They also liked the food here, especially very tasty uni, local albacore, and Salmon Sushi. Conversation with the chef (Itamae san) was also very nice and we really enjoyed it. Thank you. We will visit here again.

Went there for my bday. My wife let them know and they went out of their way for it (evidenced by the candle in the cheesecake). Sashimi was above average. Starter salad was huge! Very reasonably priced. Great neighborhood sushi place, which are getting harder and harder to find.

My family took me out to Kisaku for my birthday, since they know how much I love sushi. This restaurant did not disappoint! The nigiri was fresh and fantastic. I ordered omakase, and the chef's choices were incredible. It got me out of my box from the usual maguro I always order.
They had a wide variety of menu options, including things that my little one would eat, like edamame and teriyaki. The ambiance is lovely, and you can see the sushi being made right before your eyes.

Excellent sushi, a cut above the rest - and great value too! We were looking for a date that had solid sushi and is better than Blue C. The prices here were very reasonable. We even found bonito, which I never find anywhere! Also get the agedashi tofu, to die for.

One of the best sushi spots outside of Seattle proper and cannot be beat for value on price and what you are served. Always ask for what's on special because it's always changing. Sit at the sushi bar and the chef's will describe and recommend something for you.

I've gone here with my family my whole life, and once I met my girlfriend I knew exactly where I would take her when the need arose. We've been twice, and both times it was perfect. Although the cost can get out of hand quickly if you're a voracious eater like myself, if you're a normal person like my SO you will be absolutely fine.
