Flying Fish Roe*
7 kinds of sashimi, egg omelet, & vegetables on a bed of sushi rice. Served with miso soup
Absolutely recommend. We had the Hoshi Omakase and every piece was an experience.
Came here for dinner. They were very Covid safe. The omakase experience was exceptional.
I’ve been to Kisaku several times before, but everything about this visit was exceptionally wonderful. They went the extra mile in COVID prevention measures, including sealing each utensil in paper envelopes and sealing the top of the tabletop water carafes. The food seemed extra delicious and service was impeccable. Kisaku, you really know how to run a great restaurant!
Our server was so generous with his time, quick with his humor, and patient with two teenagers who were new to sushi.
Great food, inept waiter who made many mistakes. Super safe, nice and quiet
Kisaku’s has always had exceptional food and service. It may be the most under-the-radar high-quality sushi I. Seattle. At dinner yesterday, they were exceptional. The safety measures were clear and effective, and the service was, as always quite good. Our waiter was knowledgeable and provided an excellent sake recommendation. The foos was delivered within minutes of ordering and was both high quality and delicious. I highly recommend Kisaku’s to any sushi lover who would like a first class experience at prices that are more than reasonable.
Dined at Kisakyu last evening and it was a truly wonderful experience! The tables are separated with only seating 4-5 at a time.and there is excellent hygiene with all the plates, etc encapsulated in plastic on the table. Mask wearing is mandatory for those who haven't been fully vaccinated. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. We had the tempura and it was the best I have had - light and crispy and very fresh. The black cod was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious too. We had the maple fried brussel sprouts which were fabulous! All in all a perfectly lovely dinner and experience.
Everything from the service to the food was outstanding. Fish was incredibly fresh. Sauces were made in house and everything tasted so great. Prices were so good too, especially for Seattle. 10/10 would visit again.
Sashimi presentation was excellent and very delicious. Sweet potato dessert was great!
We were able to dine inside and it felt very safe and relaxing. The service was top notch and the food was great, of course.
A great place for a quaint and quiet sushi experience.
Food was great as well as the service. They accommodated a reservation of 6 with ease.
We will be back.
Great small neighborhood sushi restaurant. Would go again.
This is such a neighborhood jewel, with great sushi and Japanese food. Dessert was also delicious.
Kisaku has been my favorite sushi spot in seattle for years. The food and service are always top notch. My partner is allergic to shellfish and they have always accommodated and we have never had an issue with cross contamination. They do have a little higher price point, but I always feel as though it matches the value as the quality of fish and preparation has always been of the highest quality. They also have a good selection of sake and wine, but there is no liquor, FYI.
KIsaku is my "go to" Japanese restaurant for the last twenty years. The original owner sold out a few years ago and the new owner has improved the menu adding new and innovative dishes that make it more appealing. Since I enjoy the raw fish at this restaurant, it is important the fish is always fresh and top shelf, and it is. One wait staff that has been there from the beginning is the best. Seskui (not sure of the spelling) always provides superb service. It goes down a bit from there, but adequate.
If you are in search of an outstanding neighborhood Japanese restaurant, go no further, Kisaku is the place.
Best sushi quality for the price. The staff is well trained and very accommodating. Try the hoshi and tsuki courses!
So glad we can get our favorite sushi dine in again. Somehow it just tastes better when you can eat it there!
Food and Service were both great. Black Cod appetizer was amazing.
Food and service was amazing!!! We enjoy this place and would highly recommend giving them a try. Staff is very attentive and super friendly. Keep up the great service!
We had a lovely dine-in experience on Saturday night and our omakase dinner was flavorful and delicious. The restaurant is strictly abiding by the covid rules, and we felt like it was a safe dining experience.
Felt safe dining during pandemic due to their safety protocol
Once again a wonderful experience of great sushi and signature dishes...enjoyed the restaurant week Omakase course and quenching Saki.
Fantastic food as usual. We have eaten here many times and the quality and preparation and service Remains the Same even during this difficult Covid time. They are very very safe & strict with masks, distancing, and no contact service. Highly recommend Kisaku.
We both had awesome starters! The ceviche and albacore sashimi with crispy onions were both great
The omakase was... not as good. There were several good pieces but there were a few things that were off. It’s not clear if they were Covid related (we will definitely try again post Covid)
1) There were two “nigiri” that were asparagus and avocado. Not a big deal, but they weren’t great and there was no indication on the menu
2) All 15 nigiri pieces were served at the same time, so the temperature was off. This seems small, but in my experience, serving pieces in small groups makes a noticeable difference
3) The cuts of fish were really thick. Some of the fish tasted tough because of this
So it was fine for a neighborhood sushi experience, and we’ll come back. But I think a few small tweaks would make a big difference!
Fish was not as fresh as usual
incredible service, incredible food, incredible prices
Great service, lovely food, nice atmosphere. A great neighborhood place.
Solid neighborhood sushi spot. Very nice service and the fish was on point. Nice selection and served at the proper temperature ( hard to find sushi not ice cold). Nice to dine in on sushi, much better than take out!
Great service, strong Covid precautions! Enjoyed our meal here.
Great omakase option as well as other food. We really enjoyed how COVID compliant the staff was and enjoyed our delicious sushi. Would recommend the wild sockeye salmon. It's the best!
This is one of our favorite places before covid-19 and is still one of our favorite places after! Food is outstanding service is great and the Ambiance is perfect. We encourage everyone to support them.
Delicious sushi and great service
Great Covid place to go. Tables
Far apart. ...... follow the great Covid guidelines .
Sushi was good .... perhaps a bit below their norm
That is happening these days . But still a good neighborhood sushi place
Great quality food and great service! I will definitely be back again!
Best Sushi in Seattle . Love the fresh (not farm raised) salmon choices!
Exceeded expectations! Very good sushi for a reasonable price! Better than some that charge a lot more lines up with sushi restaurants with $$$$
I was excited to dine in the restaurant for my son’s birthday. I think this place must be suffering a supply chain problem related to lockdown and Covid. The fish was just mediocre in quality. Did not reflect the great reviews before pandemic. We dined at the restaurant and they do a great job of keeping things safe. But u can’t order sushi a la cart. You have to order 1 of 3 options and they determine the type of sushi. I was disappointed but understood that. Much of the sushi came w small toppings but instead of traditional items like shiso leaf, lemon slice, or fish eggs, the salmon had a sickly sweet topping, another fish had a bit of spicy relish, and they overpowered the fish. Also, I didn’t appreciate the asparagus sushi or the avocado sushi. I’ve had better sushi at places where I took plates off a conveyer belt.
It was OK..
Our first dinner out since covid, were 10 min late and that was kinda a problem for them not the most accommodating or friendly, menu was limited pre set where you pick app/dinner/dessert, the food was all pretty average nothing to really wow us..
Server was very nice, all of us still getting use to a new routine..
Was good to be out tho..
