Great selection of fish for a price you won't see anywhere else.
They had our table ready when we got there and the sushi chef were happy to let us go off menu and bring us their choice. Food and service was great!
Consistently high-quality seafood prepared expertly. We've been eating at Kisaku for 10+ years. We love the way food is consistently fresh, prepared, and served/presented so well. For our anniversary meal recently, we ordered the tempura softshell Dungeness crab and the trio of tuna as a shared appetizer. We had the sashimi platter to share for our main meal as well as some crisp white wine. It was fabulous.
Kisaku felt a little tired in my first visit in years. I remember it as a fresh and charming addition to the neighborhood when it first opened. Now furnishings look worn, the smell of bleach was strong on the way to the restroom, and the sushi was not impressive especially compared to my memory. Too many pandering sushi rolls (the Wallingford roll for example) and not enough of the excellence in quality and presentation that I remember. Low energy experience overall.
Great birthday celebrations.
The food was marvelous. My wife really enjoyed herself for her birthday. I look forward to coming back. Next time we will sit at the bar and have the chef take care of us.
Great food at a reasonable price, but not fast. Be patient, it is worth it. Relatively noisy. Fine for 2-3 people to talk, but our table of 5 had trouble conversing. But all we really needed to say was "mmm"! Green Lake rolls and black cod are not to be missed!
Kisaku is under new ownership, and it has gotten even better. They have truly delicious new appetizers, and the regular servers who are still there from before are superb, warm, friendly and expert at what they do. A great place to celebrate either a special event or the end of an ordinary day.
Omakase was amazing and fresh
Jason made the most delicious sushi I’ve ever eaten. Thank you for a wonderful meal!
Very disappointing... we had to petition to get our party seated at a regular table instead of wedged between a wall and a family with a young child and their stroller parked mid-restaurant. Food took FOREVER to arrive, and it was dismal. Small sushi rolls and the fish simply didn't taste fresh. We will not be going back.
Friendly staff, fresh from the ocean or fish farm seafood, spectacular presentation. The uni was the freshest I have ever tasted (one day I'll scoop one right out of its shell after harvesting while diving!), the scallop carpaccio was decadent (like butter), and the chef's sashimi platter delighted all my textural and taste buds. Love that we have this world-class sushi bar in our little neighborhood.
Sushi is fairly small (2 inches long) and relatively thin. The balance between fish and rice is overweight in rice. Its fine if you live in the neighborhood but for the price its definitely not worth driving more than 15 minutes for. My reference would be Umi, Shiros, et al.
Favorite neighborhood restaurant. Love it.
It's my third time there. I always loved everything and everyone is great!
Tasty food, beautiful environment, and friendly service.
Chef Jason is a magician and the reason we keep going back!
Excellent as always! Top notch sushi, and we were seated as we arrived for our reservation. All was good, but the Alaska roll was especially delicious.
High quality sushi with a creative menu. Great for date night, a small group or even a family.
Fantastic food! Some of the freshest fish we've had. Huge variety to choose from and everything was perfectly seasoned by the chef. Never touched our soy sauce, or wasabi. Too expensive to be a regular stop for us, but we'll absolutely go there for date night, or a special occasion.
Kisaku has been solid for many, many years. It is one of our favorite neighborhood dining spots. We have to limit how many times we go there.
Thank you for being with us so many years! Your neighbors made our place who we are now. Give us a wave when you walk by, it will cheer us up even on the day your not in here:)
Food was varied and delicious. Lucas, our waiter, was very helpful.
Oh! Such a lovely comment! Thank you! Luke will be thrilled to hear it. He has been with us almost 16years as server, and hoping many more years to serve you. See you next time!!
Counter seating with one of the fantastic chefs is the best way to experience this restaurant. We highly recommend requesting Chef Jason! His sashimi and sushi preparations were excellent and included some unique preparation approaches, I haven't seem before. Additionally, there were a great number of unusual fish options available during our visit - which made for a fun experience since all of us eat a great deal of sushi and have a family in the international seafood industry. The chef's cold smoked salmon roe was fantastic. The golden eye snapper was a standout flavor with the chef's infusion of citrus flavors, as were his preparation and additions to the barracuda (served sashimi-style)! Highly recommend!
Thank you for coming! And we are thrilled to hear such great comments!! One of the sweetest one!! I ask Jason to make more.
Omakase at Kisaku is an excellent choice here. It may be one of Seattle's best kept sushi secrets.
Great lunch place in Tangletown. We ordered off the special lunch menu that is both economical and delicious. They offer a range of dishes and all include miso soup. One of our party went for only suchi and found the fish super fresh with a good variety of offerings. Lunch is a great time to go here since it avoids the crowds and noise of the dinner rush. Great place.
Thank you for coming and such a great review for our lunch service! See you next time!
Food is always fresh and well prepared.
Sushi is great, price is reasonable, atmosphere is relaxed, you can hear the conversation at your table, and you might even be able to park. A gem in the neighborhood.
Thanks for coming and such a great rating!
Louis at the counter is the best. Great selections for Omakase
Thanks for coming and great rating!! Louis( and all others) will be even better next time, I promise!
Very positive overall. Great service. My BBQ eel over rice had too much sauce for my taste. Would prefer sauce served on the side. Had two great special appetizers.
Thank you very much for coming and nice positive rating! I make sure your words get passed to our staff, and I am sure your server will be thrilled to hear it. I am not sure if we would change how we assemble the "Unaju", but we will happy to have the sauce just on the side upon your request, so please feel free to request it next time :).
Overall good experience, portions seem to have gotten smaller compared to other times and bigger name sushi restaurants.
Very good food and atmosphere. Took a while for dinner to arrive but it was Valentine’s Day so May have been crazy for the kitchen. Overall good experience though.
Excellent lunch what a nice surprise to find in Wallingford!
Kisaku is a restaurant that we have loved going to for a very long time. The recent change in ownership appears to have been a seamless transition. The long-time staff members make us feel just as at home as ever. Love the same great rolls and fish I've always loved, and welcome some new comers to their menu. We tried the hot stone beef, which was fun and yummy.
Simply the best.
My buddy and I have been coming here for each other's birthdays for around 8 years now. We've been in enough that they know us, and every time there's always something new to try. We've never had anything less than a perfect dining experience.
Amazing. one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle, and my absolute favorite sushi restaurant anywhere.
The green salad with miso dressing was very nice. Unfortunately, their sushi was not as good. I’ve been to this restaurant many times, but their sushi just didn’t seem very fresh or well prepared. The service was okay- they tried to do a good job. Oh, and bring a sweater. I don’t think they heat the place!
Three of us went for lunch and had sushi. It was all delicious. I believe they have gluten free soy sauce but I am also soy free so I brought some coconut aminos. Since I couldn't eat the soup they were serving I was given two salads.
New owner! Was apprehensive at first, but it turns out the new guy has some innovative twists which were a pleasant surprise! I think he brings good new energy to the place. Definitely going back.
I will hesitate to recommend as they were out of oysters, and three other things that were on the menu. Granted, it was the Wed after New Years.
The nigiri sushi continues to be excellent.
A little wait to get seated (a large party preceded me, and the host didn’t realize I was not with them, until after their table was set and they were all seated).
Sat at the sushi bar. Good reasonably priced sushi. The chef offered 2 tastings of the same item; for example a regular (bluefin) tuna nigiri and his take on it. I would come back for more
