After reading several reviews thought we might give it a try. Our server Rob was delightful. We ordered steaks that were over cooked and they remade them for us and gave us an appetizer while they remade our meal. They brought us a few aperitifs and a desert later on. Silly mistake on the cooks part but the staff made it a great reason to return.
We went for my dad’s birthday. He loved the food, service and decor. It wasn’t loud either which he appreciated.
Absolutely fabulous soup and salad and the service was terrific too!
Bob, Colleen, and Sam as managers were excellent. Our server for the evening Raphael was absolutely outstanding. Everyone at Kinzie Chophouse made my birthday dinner a most memorable experience. The establishment is a marvelous destination in Chicago, great ambiance and food, and I’m looking forward to visiting again in the near future!
One of my top 5 places to bring clients for lunch....simply awesome!
This is a well established Chicago Steakhouse. The service is competent, friendly, and experienced. The beef comes in all the usual sizes and shapes - to satisfy your mood. They are appropriately proud of the way their steaks are prepared. Split a salad to get started! It is a conversation-friendly atmosphere which is a scarce treasure! The tables are just a tad too crowded - my only environmental problem.
The music is not loud and just in the background. Service was excellent.
Very nice dinner, and reasonably priced. We were stuck with kind of a dud of a server (compared with the others working near us), but that didn't effect us from having a nice evening. Would return.
Amazing food! Steak was cooked to perfection! And the staff are resilient!
My husband and I really enjoyed the service at this location the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
The food and both steaks we had were delicious, you can get dry aged and wet steak.
Dessert is a good price and Their VIP program is a good idea.
Drinks were strong and solid.
Food and presentation was up to the usual level we have experienced over the last 20 years. Unfortunately the service was below their normal level.
Our server and restaurant manager were great. Very attentive. Great food and wine selection. We will return for sure.
Food and Service were fantastic, will eat there again and have already recommended it to others
Wonderful service and amazing food. Will definitely come back in the future.
The food and the service was amazing... Definitely coming back.
My family’s first outing to Chicago was an excellent experience due in no small part to our dinner at Kinzie Chophouse. Our server Jared was great, as was the food. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for fantastic steak and awesome atmosphere.
Excellent! The wife and I went here for Valentine's Day and it was wonderful! Steaks, wine and service were all superb! 10/10 would recommend!
I’m a steak professional. The meat here was not as thick as I would have preferred, but it was expertly cooked and presented. The side was perfect, as was the accoutrement.
Great atmosphere - sublime service. I’ve been to Chicago Cut and Chop within the last 6 months - this ranks.
Outstanding food with GREAT sauces for sampling on the steaks .... Wait staff is also fantastic and attentive ......
Very good service but the steaks that I, my wife and son had where so so. The expectation is that if you are at a steakhouse you’ll get something exceptional instead of something I can get at Jewel or Costco. The bigger disappointment t was their wine selection. If any of you know anything g about wine see for yourself. In comparison see what other steakhouses carry. Overall big “X” from me.
Our first visit -Valentine's Day. Excellent service by wait staff . Our waiter, Rob Grimm, was fantastic. 5 stars across the board for Kinzie Chophouse.
Wish they had valet parking.
We came in for the Winter menu. While the meat was tasty for him, the vegan options missed the mark for me. I'm glad we came but I would not recommend for vegetarians.
Great selection of Steaks and the Mac N Cheese is superb!
This time we chose to sit in the bar. The service experience wasn’t anything like I had experienced a few weeks prior in the dining room. Last time we had a young lady that was extraordinary. This time an older gentleman just doing his job The calimari was too chewy this time.
Had some issues with the food steak was well when I asked for medium they fixed it quickly, second issue was the oscar side had chips of crab claw swallowed one and caught the other brought it to server attention they just apologized. Overall not the expectation I had from a fine Restraunt it was my first experience probably last
Bad service with an attitude and mediocre food make for a place I will not return to.
Dined with family for my daughter’s birthday — food was delicious & service was excellent. This is a gem in Chicago— Our steaks were perfect, and the desserts - lovely! We will be dining again very soon. We recommend The Cowgirl & the Bone-in Filet!
Outstanding service in a cozy, charming atmosphere with awesome food. Relaxing vibe where you can chat in at an intimate table or booth. We loved the crispy bread they served and had a delicious glass of wine. It was my husband's birthday dinner and they even gave us a delish mini mousse cake to enjoy at the end. We loved the unique "old school" charm of this establishment; it wasn't trying too hard; no one tried to sell us any food memberships like at Morton's or made us feel rushed. A truly special dining experience!
Great place! Like the remodel
Steaks were cooked perfectly and mushroom risotta was to die for. Great service and ambiance. Highly recommend trying the wine as well as leaving enough room to try the decadent chocolate cake 😊
Ate here for a business dinner while in town for a conference. The food was AMAZING! The dry aged Kansas City steak was out of this world and the shaved brussel sprouts with bacon maple demi-glaze were a serious trip to flavor town. One of our party had the special which came with a soup, steak, and dessert. She raved about the golden soup (cauliflower and turmeric) the rest of the night. Prices are comparable or slightly less than more well-known steakhouses in Chicago. The decor is clean and inviting with soft lighting that sets a very relaxed atmosphere. The wait staff was very attentive albeit somewhat cold and they did take longer than we would have liked to greet us after being seated, hence the four stars. I also must mention that the bread basket they bring has the most unique bread I have ever had at a "we give free bread" restaurant. Delightful little, yet oddly shaped, rolls with a touch of sweetness and crispy shards of baked phyllo or pastry crust. just a fun, original touch to a great restaurant with excellent food.
The dried aged steak was bland could have used some flavor. Otherwise the meal was excellent
Outstanding service...there was a fairly loud party in the back private dining room near where we were originally seated. The staff realized it was too loud for our small family and they moved us to a quieter area without us asking. Our waiter was extremely friendly and accommodating to our menu requests. The room is casually elegant but not stuffy. The meal itself was very good. Our second time here and we will definitely return.
We have come to Kinzie for years. For ourselves and we have brought friends from outside the area.
Kinzie is my wife's "Bad day restaurant". Sometimes she gets in the car and says she has had an awful day and all she wants is a martini and a veal chop. This is her favorite meal at Kinzie. 45 to 60 minutes later, she is a much happier woman with an improved view.
Disappointed in the quality of food. Ambiance is great, but will pick another place before heading here. Service was also poor unfortunately.
Awesome food & drinks.
I can't say enough good things about Kinzie Chophouse. My fiance and I have become regulars at this spot and this past weekend, we brought another couple with us and had an incredible experience. Our server was super knowledgeable on wine and let us try one of his favorites from the tasting refrigerator on the side of the lounge. On top of that, he gave our table a complimentary dessert to celebrate both of our recent engagements :) Love this spot for so many reasons! Can't wait for patio season!
Spent the evening here post theatre for a second anniversary dinner. The staff promptly seated us at our reserved, semi-private table that we requested/reserved.
The server provided extreme detail of the daily special and chef's choice. Allowed us time to review the menu, and also staggered our appetizers and entrees from being served too close together. The menu is quite vast with an array of pastas, seafood, and steaks. They even give a steak replica presentation of the steak cuts available that night.
Candlelight, white table cloth environment. Clothing may need to be business casual to formal. I would not suggest jeans unless paired with a button down and blazer, or sweater and tie. They did not, however, make this a requirement; so come as you please!
Ambiance started fairly quite with only 3 party of guest in the house. Got a little more noisy, but still bearable for intimate conversation as the restaurant filled. Would definitely recommend making a reservation for quick seating.
Service was great. Apps were great! Steaks were not good for the price. Not juicy at all. Very disappointed.
