Kinzie Chophouse
As one of the only woman owned steakhouses, we continue the tradition of excellence in food and service in our restaurant. We welcome you to our newly renovated bar lounge which is reminiscent of old world Chicago, but with an elegant touch. Enjoy a delicious meal in an iconic location with charm and history. Kinzie Chophouse is located in the first building erected with steel beams in Chicago and we wanted to pay homage to that in our design. We have an extensive wine list and have won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence since 2008. Our craft cocktails are sure to delight, with a variety to suit all tastes. If entertaining larger parties, we have three elegant, private rooms that will make any special occasion memorable.
We look forward to welcoming you and amazing you with our food and hospitality.

Only patrons that dinner in. Customer service was impeccable. Nice warm feeling. Paid attention to detail because it was the girlfriend’s birthday. I would come back again.
Raphael and Roberto were amazing!
It was amazing. From the service to the staff to the experience, it was great! I highly recommend.
Excelente ubicación excelente servicio muy buena ambientación muy buen .Mac and chesse a los cuatro quesos buen filete mignon muy buena selección de vinos por copa!
It was good BUT..I made a reservation for 8pm and wasn’t seated until 9pm. Wasn’t happy!
I reserved this place because I wanted a casual night, but of romance . This place is far from it now .. The food is over priced and over done. They say business casual dining, but 80 percent of the people looked like they either just was lounging around the house and decided to come eat, or they look like they just came out from the hood . There's no kinda dress code. Very few are dressed well most have their pants hanging on their butts, with tshirts. Didn't really matter if you have reservations because it's basically first come first serve I had a reservation at 7 but I got seated at 5 minutes to 8. Yes they are not abiding by the guidelines of covid you can't even side but everyone is packed together even though there's another room they have everyone in the lounge area with tables two to three feet apart from each other.
Just went for wine and oysters, but the food was great! The bread (tiny rolls) and butter were amazing! Ambiance was very nice outside on a particularly warm Nov evening. The L is right above you as you dine, so just something to be aware of.
Not enough social distancing going on here. We asked for the table next to us to be moved because it was only about 2 feet away. They moved it over 1 foot and continued to try to seat people next to us.
With Covid restrictions being all over the board and no one really understanding what’s compliant and what isn’t, we were seated indoors next to a small open window as this restaurant does not have patio heaters for whatever reason. I was fine with it, my guest was a little apprehensive as there was one other table seated in room with us. We were only presented with one paper menu for both of us to peruse and I had to wait for our server to approach us and request a wine list, which I had to retrieve via querty code on my phone after he brought over a small laminated sign to scan. I appreciate touch less menu options like this, but if customers are expected to utilize their own cell phones, the proprietors should at least provide free Wi-fi! My fish was terribly over cooked and had to be remade. And we all know what happens next, my guest had already finished his entree by the time my second one got to the table as l picked at the rubbery first attempt while he ate. Then he had to sit and watch me eat, which I hastily did so that we could share a dessert. Restaurants that are struggling to survive should really be on the top of their game one would think. Lately it just seems like there is just no attention to detail everywhere we go. In these toughest of times, only the very best will survive. I won’t rush back to Kinzie Chop House any time soon. And a word of advice to management, invest in some propane heaters like your neighbors to the west. It at least gives your customers the impression that you’re thinking about their comfort and safety!
Fantastic experience, as always! We took advantage of their Sunday-Monday specials. T-bone was superb, lobster was succulent! Cocktails were a delight. Very happy to visit Kinzie to keep them part of the Chicago steak scene.
It took them 20 min to have a waiter take our drink order, until we had to tell a manager that we needed a waiter. Service was poor, food didn’t come out right, and food was cold.
Terrible restaurant! If I could rate them a zero I would! The waiter was extremely rude, our seafood was freezing cold, the steaks were burnt on the outside and red on the inside! We weren’t able to be seated until 30 minutes after our reservation! And when we were finally seated the table was extremely small and wobbled. I have never been to such a terrible restaurant in my life!!
It took 30mins just for me and my fiancé to get bread, after that we received our food an hour after being there. I ask for my steak well done because I don’t eat raw meat and my steak came out med rare. My fiancé asked for chicken and mash potatoes his chicken was good but after sitting there for an hour they Finally tell us they’re out of mash potatoes so he had to settle for something else. I will not be returning.
It was gorribkr
Our waitress was extremely helpful. I enjoyed the food.
Great experience. Service was fantastic, recommend the scallops.
Bartender service was absolutely horrible
So disappointed. I have loved Kinzie for years, but this time it was awful. Our party of 6 was sat in a private dining room upstairs in what was basically an office space (and was extremely quiet) WITH another party of 6. Dirty Martinis came as warm glasses of straight vodka. Old fashioneds came as whiskey on the rocks with an orange wedge. Steaks had to be sent back twice. Not what I expect for $1,000. Next time I'll take my money to one of our many excellent options.
Food was good. Service was a bit slow maybe due to staff but pleasant. Would definitely visit again.
It was my birthday... the service, the food was great and Rafael awesome
The outside dining area was in the shade so it was rather chilly for lunch. Portable heaters would have been much appreciated. The food and beverage selection was a little pricey but of high quality. Our server was great (I.e., highly attentive, friendly, and helpful).
We had a very nice dinner quiet evening inside. The food was good and the service was outstanding.
The steaks were perfect, good flavor and tender.
There wasn’t a big variety to choose from, 2 of the 3 items I ordered were good but not good enough to make me want to come back. The server was awesome though!! If you go food the ambiance and service then you won’t be disappointed.
Didn’t honor reservation
Johnny an Mike were great as usual! Miss the mushroom strudel tho!!
素晴らしく良いお店でした。
静かでスタッフの対応もよし。
肉の味も最高でした。
A great place to have a date or gather with friends to have good food and good drinks.
I had a Great Birthday dinner! I would highly recommend this restaurant. Thanks again Kinzie Chophouse!
We're operating in weird times and the restaurant ran out of baked potatoes which was a problem because two were ordered at our table. One was ordered by a carnivore as a substitute to the vegetable that came with her short ribs; the other was ordered by a vegan eater to go with her steamed vegetables. The restaurant somehow decided to give the last available baked potato to the short ribs person who had many options rather than the vegan who had limited options. It would have been great to have participated in that decision rather than to have it made for the diners at our table.
That's the less-than-happy part of this review. The rest of our experience was really good. The young man who greeted and seated us (blue suit and with an accent from another continent) was welcoming, gracious and professional. Our server, Rafael, was knowledgable and attentive. Our meals (steak, short ribs, pasta and vegetables) were all excellent although not piping hot. Most important, we felt that they were very attentive to new measures/guidelines intended to keep us all safe during the pandemic including masked staff, disinfecting tables between patrons and QR codes for the menu. A very good experience.
Awesome food and enjoyable outdoor eating. Excellent service as well.
It is a very nice restaurant, great services, but I think because of Covid-19 the food quality may not be the best (we ordered lamb lollipops and tomahawk steak and both were very dry, the scallops were amazing though). The outdoor seating is not exactly the best especially because it is located right below a train track so we had to stop our conversation every 5-10 for the train to pass since we can’t hear anything. Can’t blame them for that but should be taken into consideration if you’re planning on dining here.
Had a great time at Kinzie Chophouse. Food was amazing and value was great. Ambiance was low due to the crisis at the moment (coronavirus) but overall had a great experience.
Great choice of preparation methods/sauces for our filet mignon. Good variety of side dishes. Very attentive service.
It's the Chophouse, I know, but I ordered the burger. It was just alright. My in-laws loved the prime rib, and the pork chop look amazing that my wife ordered. Plus the lack of a kids menu (or smaller portions menu) prompted us to have to order the full size burger for our daughter. Fries were great, but the burger could use some work. Overall, I'd come back for steak or chops.
I've been to the Kinzie Chophouse multiple times but on this occasion they brought all the food out shortly after delivering our cocktails thereby rushing the entire experience. It also didn't help that my steak was a bit tough and not up to the restaurant's typical standards.
Great food, but disappointed that the calamari is no longer on the menu. Bring it back please!!
Good atmosphere and good food
Valentine’s Day
Very disappointed in Kinzie's, this time, although it was very crowded, they seemed very ill prepared for the Allstar weekend and Valentine's day, basically they did NOT show they could handle it. Missing menu items, servers not knowing which items are missing, "ok sir we have that" and after a 35 minute wait, and surprise, we are out of that too..besides all that my order wasn't even good, 12oz bland steak, (no flavor) ..I may try to let you guys make it up Kinzie's...because my first time here was great
Was a cold non personal experience when checking in. We were on time for our reservation, were told to wait for 30 minutes before they pushed us toward the bar area. Food was okay. For the price there are better experiences I can find in Chicago.
