Good food and service however not what I expected from a Michelin star restaurant. Couple of the dishes were entirely too salty. Roasted chicken was great as well as the lobster waffle. Peach cobbler and oolong ice cream great with the ice cream portion being excellent. A good meal but nothing to go back for a second time around.

This is my second visit. As before, the menu is very interesting. I wanted to try everything, but with only 2 people, that wasn't going to happen. As expected, the food was memorable. The service was even better. Delayed by an hour due to Friday DC traffic, the front desk was happy to hold one of the bar booths for our late arrival. While slightly disappointed to not be in the main dining room, the experience may have been better. The booths are quiet and private; it is easy to have a conversation. The dining room seemed a bit energetic - it was Friday evening.

We started with cocktails. They were terrific. Of course, you may expect that from a bartender that can discuss the merits of aging spirits in Madeira casks vs. red wine casks. Our server had encylopedic wine knowledge and the by-the-glass section is excellent - a couple dozen choices that give a variety of styles and intensity that match the food. She suggested a French Malbec and it was a great match for my main course. The full list has a great selection, too. While I might like a larger Madeira selection for dessert, they have a Sherry, a Maderia, a ruby Port, and a vintage Port by the glass.

Kinship has been my favorite restaurant in D.C, so far. Foods are very creative, but taste awesome. It’s wine list is great as well with reasonable price compared to other fine restaurant. Definielty will visit in the future.

Absolutely fantastic and so deserving of its Michelin star. We went for my husband's birthday and had the Salade Tunisienne, soft shell Maryland crab, amaranth-crusted halibut, and duck confit - and all of them were so unique and different and amazing. It's the kind of place where you'll want to try the whole menu! Wait staff was very professional and impressively knowledgeable, too - while still being relaxed and welcoming.

I came here for an anniversary dinner with my boyfriend and we were blown away!!! The service is spectacular, nice upscale ambiance while still feeling comfortable and food was beyond amazing. We ordered the roast chicken dish to share and were told it would take an hour to make (it’s cooked to order) but it was SO worth the weight. We ordered a couple appetizers in the meantime which were also delicious - and topping it all off with dessert. With all the food we ordered, and a bottle of champagne, this was a pricey dinner but appropriate and expected for a special occasion

Outstanding culinary team, wait staff, and dining experience. I took my wife here for our anniversary and everything was perfect, from the food to the cocktails and wines. Few restaurants so well balance having an intimate setting that is still alive and comfortable, luxurious and not too ostentatious. This may have moved to my favorite in DC. The bar area is fantastic and is great for casual dine in's and drinks.

Kinship was outstanding. The menu layout was incredibly unique and made the ordering process fun. Food was out of this world. DC is matching New York food scene more and more recently, and the Kinship experience is one of the best I've had the opportunity to enjoy.

We ordered the Lancaster County Pork and that was our least favorite thing of the evening (we've had the roast check and whole foie gras before). The pork belly pieces were just pure chewy fat (not in a good way). I would not recommend that dish. Everything was fine.

Like always, Kinship was superb. the food is innovative, the service exemplary and the sound level quiet. Very rare today to get all of these qualities in one place. Foie gras excellent and lamb shank so tender it melted in your mouth

creative menu; flavorful; noise bounces around entire reataurant due to flooring and acoustics from interior design; waiter knowledge sub par pertaining to menu and food awareness but was genuinely friendly fellow: asked for info about grits, “...from wheat...” this is incorrect, grits are from corn - we just let it go.
wine pairing suggestion was perfect.

Great restaurant for any special occasion! Interior is very sleek but warm. Loved how the menu is written based on ingredients, traditional or indulgence to have a different approach to your meal. The lobster french toast was so yummy and the halibut was cooked perfectly, not dry but tender...probably the best halibut I've had. The coconut cake was so good and even their decaf coffee! You can tell a lot about the restaurant when even their decaf coffee taste clean and flavorful without any cream and sugar.

The experience was good. But it was just that. Not great or special by any means. When I go out to a Michelin star restaurant, I expect to be wowed at least once during the meal. And that just didn't happen here. The food was good, not great, and generally under-seasoned across the board. Service was for the most part lovely and what one should expect at a restaurant of this caliber. You'd be hard pressed to get me to go back with so many other options in the city.

Eating at an establishment the caliber of Kinship can sometimes be a stuffy and intimidating affair. This was not the case here. We instantly felt welcome and taken care of. There was not a mediocre item we selected for dinner, and everything was excellently priced for a Michelin Star experience.

The food was great, and they were very attentive to our dietary needs. The server made sure my wife saw the mocktails and answered her questions about ingredients since she is expecting and was looking to avoid certain things. I don’t think we have been to a restaurant in DC with such great value. We had enough leftovers for dinner the next night and the before-tip price was well under $200. Highly recommend this place!
