A taste of home right in Oakland. Can't wait to make this a regular spot fot me and friends
Delicious food; cheerful service. The servers were energetic, friendly and knowledgeable about all the dishes.
Kinston offers authentic, loving & passionate food & spices.
Great place to eat before a concert. Looking forward to visiting again!
Great food, fun atmosphere, very happy with the evening out.
I had a wonderful time. My friends and I celebrated my birthday. The food and service was excellent.
Thank you for your wonderful food and service.
Jerk chicken was very good. Tables are too close together for me. I like the DJ music. Service is inconsistent but ok.
I would recommend Kingston 11 for the food. We had the Goat Curry, Ox Tail stew and the Jerk Chicken salad. The food was great. The drinks were really good: Old Jamaican, Kingston Collada and Spiked Sorrel. The dessert, a fruit cake-like substance with a sort-of creme fraiche splash was okay. Wouldn't bother with that.
The service was really terrible. Although there were a lot of people on the floor, actually getting someone to come over was a chore considering that the restaurant was not that crowded. When the person finally came over, he was not very informed about the food, which was not helpful at all. Like saying, "on a scale of 1 to 10, it is between 1 and 10 (for heat)!" Let's just say the wait staff was basically clueless, that is, inexperienced at restaurant work. Here's a good one: I didn't have a fork. When I asked for one I was told that they must be washing them now! What! They ran out of forks! That also happened with the dessert, which was described one way by one person (a dark chocolate cake) and another (a fruit cake style). It was sort of neither. We finally got the desert with one spoon (there was three of us and we asked for three utensils). We finally got two espresso cup spoons, i.e., very small. Ridiculous! The spoons were delivered and the person left so quickly we couldn't even get their attention about it. Hard to eat cake with such a small spoon. I will say this about the service: once the drink order was place, they came out quickly. Then we ordered for the main courses and those came out quickly (stews, curries, salads mostly pre-made). But, we also ordered the Swiss Chard and it came out very late in the meal. When we asked for it, the waiter said, "we are behind on the chard orders." Matter of factly, "we are behind." Oh well. The food is good but not worth the lack of service. We'll check back in a year or so and see if they improve.
I love this restaurant and the options that are available whether I am starving or just want small plates and a drink. Whenever my friends want to get together, I tend to think of this restaurant first because it is a laid-back, colorful place, and the staff is always great.
Great food. Okay service. We had to ask for our water to be refilled. The server walked by without checking in. I had to wave him down to get him to stop and interact with us. The service is not great here.
Tasty original flavors. We’ll be back.
My husband and I had an amazing time on our bunch lunch date. Fantastic foods and we loved the Jack Daniel Red labor shots.
Kingston 11 makes amazing food and treats their employees well, they are what's known as a High Road Employer. Service is just "okay", but 100% worth the trip!
We had reservations and a large group. We were seated quickly. The servers were great but there weren't enough of them to handle the number of diners. The jerk chicken salad was delicious, spicy yet complex and falling of the bones tender. Everyone loved the good and would return go another meal.
Though the food is great, they did not honor our reservation. They sat several parties without reservations before us. We waited 40 minutes for our table.
Made a reservation for 7:30pm and didn't get seated until after 8:00pm. The service was overall slow (told that there were only two servers for a Friday night). The jerk chicken was dry and cold. Oxtail stew was good. Drinks were mediocre.
The atmosphere was mellow, the service hospitable, and the food was quite tasty. I’d highly recommend Kingdton II.
Absolutely delicious! I haven't tasted anything on the menu here that I didn't love. The goat curry was superb!
It was a beautiful day which started off with wine tasting on Treasure Island and ended here at Kingston 11. I had been dying to try this place ever since I seen it on Check Please. We started with the Wild gulf shrimp, salt fish fritters and Jamaican patties which were my favorite. For dinner we had the Jerk chicken and Oxtail stew. Both were very good. I didn't get a chance to try the drinks but I'll save that for another day. ;)
Great original food in a casual homey environment.
Great as always! Love this place.
My favorite thing that I ordered actually was the limeade. I wish that there were free refills. The next favorite for me was the rice dish. I had to adjust my palate to eating the greens. I liked the band a lot but it was a little close to where I was sitting.
Food is always outstanding!
Trust me, IRMAO this place has eerie ting Irie. Authentic, to say the least. Wonderfully diverse crowd with great energy. Staff was cool and the food was banging! The Beef pattie, Bra!! And the plantains, Damn. But the oxtail will make you want to not go home. Get up. Stand up!
Everyone was kept waiting over an hour to obtain their orders, and even then things were missing from orders. Many, many unhappy tables.
Great service. The owner was friendly, and hospitable. The food was delicious. I'd go again!
Oxtails were amazing! They were seasoned well. Probably the best I ever had. The reviews did not lie when it said they fall off the bone. My husband who is from the West Indies says the curry goat was excellent as well. We are moving to Oakland and will definitely eat here monthly if not weekly.
The jerk chicken is delicious. Casual atmosphere. Loud. Drinks are creative though small for the price. I’m definitely going back for the chicken. It’s a good portion with wing, drumstick and thigh. I don’t love dark meat but this was tender and tasty. The greens that we got as a side were also really good. No dessert menu but we were so full it didn’t matter.
Authentic Jamaican food with fun vibe. They were slammed when we arrived. Our table was waiting for us and we were warned that service could be slow. Drinks were delicious too. Wish they served hot sauce
Very good experience. First time here. Will return when in the area. Loved the jerk chicken and rum punch.
Food was great and so was the service. My whole family loved it and there were 12 of us.
The music alone was worth the price of admission! I do love the dinner menu more than the Sunday Brunch menu. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal.
Went for Sunday brunch. Great food. Great ambiance except that the steel drum player was a bit loud. Hart to heard conversation with my son. Great value
The best Jamaican food !
Friendly staff, and fantastic food.
chicken was dry and the beans and rice has odd sauce on top
I thought 5.00 for a kiddie cup of sorrel was overpriced
the plantain were the best I ever had
entire meal was overpriced for the quality
service was friendly and the interior was really nice
I wouldn't go back or recommend
Food and drinks were good. Energetic and cool vibe inside. Great neighborhood for a night out. Service was friendly but just not very consistent. It was nice in a way because we certainly didn’t feel rushed! I would go there again for sure.
Great food and great vibe! They could cut the vegetables a little smaller in the curry, but the use of spices is absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Berkeley area!
Good, fresh food. Great service and I enjoyed meeting the owner- very personable! Keep up the good job!
Love Kingston 11! Great food, ambiance and service. If you are in Oakland and want to spice things up a bit for dinner. Go to Kingston 11! Excellent Jamaican cuisine.
