   We were so excited for the jerk chicken but it was really dry. The service was super slow, but friendly. The rum ouch packed a punch and was straight out of Jamaica.

   I made a reservation for 4 people on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly but our waitress was very delayed in bringing our food and drinks. At one point she forgot a pair of our drinks. When asked she admitted she forgot. More delays, a person in our group went to the bar and got the drinks himself. She apologized multiple times but continued to be delayed. Then minutes after we paid the tab she asked us to leave so others could be seated. It's a somewhat understandable request but given the service the whole night, we found it rude but did oblige. The food was great but the service was lackluster. We'll order takeout next time.

   I never have to worry about the food being great at Kingston 11. No matter what I choose it’s always exquisite. The drinks are also made well. The energy was high that night and they were packed but the staff made sure we were well taken care of.

   Food was good, particularly the curry, but a couple of people said the jerk chicken on the sandwich was a bit dry and could have been spicier. The service was a bit slow, but it was a Wednesday night with one server and one bartender. There were 2 to 3 other tables. Our group ordered a few bottles of Prosecco and they were all served unopened. We had to open and pour for ourselves. Also, when we arrived, they did not have our reservation that was made through OpenTable. Luckily it was not busy so they were able to accommodate us. I would call and confirm next time.

   Been wanting to come to this Oakland institution for many years. Our dinner did not disappoint. We had the delicious oxtail stew and our server recommended the fish. It was all delicious and my cocktail packed a punch. We will have to return soon to work through the other menu items!

    If I could rate the service as a 10, I would! Everyone was super attentive and welcoming! The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the oxtail stew (so tasty that I wish I had more meat!), jerk chicken, and the Kingston Sunset cocktail. We will definitely be going back the next time we are in the Bay area!

    Our server Chevine (sp?) was very friendly & hospitable from the moment my party & I walked in. It was my family’s first time at Kingston 11 and they really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and rum punch.

    The good reviews are what brought us here, and they were right. We wanted outdoor seating for a chilly Friday night. There were a couple of kinda ratty tables in front of the restaurant with heaters, so we figured this was our spot. Not so fast! Kingston also has a very cute, heated back patio they use for special events, and this was offered as there wasn't an event that night. So charming and kitschy! And, our server, from Jamaica (I cannot remember her name, sorry) was fun and professional. She reviewed several menu items with us, explaining if it was a Jamaican dish and/or how cooked. We ordered two jerk chickens that were fall-off-the-bone tender and so tasty with smoke and spices, one ackee and saltfish, and oxtail stew. Our friend pronounced the ackee dish as great and finished it off before we could grab bites, and the stew was also terrific. The stew arrived cold, but was reheated to perfection shortly. Finally, the wine list is small but well chosen. We will be back!

    Delicious drinks and great food. I enjoyed the jerk chicken that had a nice flavor and not too spicy. The rice and plantains were excellent. Attentive and cheerful service. Good atmosphere and something for my vegan cousin.

    Love this place, love the service, and love that it is Black-owned. The food is delicious and the drinks are too. Three of us shared oxtails, green beans, chicken wings, and salmon and we each had the same drink (I can't remember the name, but it's the one with the tequila.) DELISH!!!!!!

    This is really an up-and-down place. My main course was fish fritters, and boy were they delicious. Really crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside ,great tamarind sauce. My husband had a blackened tofu that he loved as well. I had ordered a glass of Prosecco. It came at room temperature and in a martini glass. Not the way it should have been served. My side dish was smoky brussels sprouts. They came at room temperature and I had to send them back to be heated. Didn’t much like them, but that was more on me than on the prep. My husband had a sautéed green beans dish, and I kept stealing from him. Those were so good. Overall, this was an OK meal, but I shouldn’t have to be sending back items.

    Heard about this place on TikTok of all places. When I saw that they had oxtail stew on the menu I knew we had try it and they didn’t disappoint. Great vide to the place as they have reggae music playing in the background. Had the meal on our table within 10 minutes. Would definitely recommend this place.

    Cool place with friendly service and good food. Service model is a little weird. Mains came first, apps next, drinks last. That’s a first for me. Server never checked back until we were done. I saw that style happen to the next group that came in so maybe that just the way they do it.

    I just go for the oxtails and plantains. They are amazing. They fall off the bone and damn near melt in your mouth. The oxtails NEVER disappoint.

    The music was so loud we had trouble hearing our dinner companions. By the end of dinner our ears were ringing. The bill came out with prices that varied from the menu ,but it was so loud that we just wanted to get out of the restaurant. It did not matter that no one asked if we wanted dessert. Overall very uneven.

    They are labeled as a brunch spot online and says they offer brunch on Saturdays. I went here because of the brunch they claimed to offer. They told us they don't offer brunch which was disappointing. They need to update their info online. The food was not great. I have rice with curry veggies and plantains. The rice was not cooked all the way and tasted very cheap. Some of my family got the jerk chicken and said it was overcooked and tough. They could barely cut it with a knife. The pina colada was really the only thing that was good. The waitress also kept telling us a lot of things on the menu were sold out and expired. That's concerning. Their menu is already tiny so not much to choose from.

    We love the Jerk Chicken with dirty rice and plantains. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. We are happy the restaurant requires proof of vaccination so we can feel comfortable eating indoors. The only down side is the noise level becomes challenging when some of the patrons become enthusiastic.

    The food was delicious! I had the goat curry stew and my husband had the jerk chicken and we shared an appetizer of plantains. It came out quick and fast, it was perfect. The ambiance is great, it casual, which is what I was hoping for. It reminded me of being in Jamaica with the wood furniture, picture of the mountains and the mural of Bolt. Would definitely come here again.
