Kingside is cool but not pretentious, food was great, service was spot on. The drinks were amazing, especially the Trouble Maker.
It's decent for a hotel restaurant. But I would not come here for a restaurant experience. The bar and the lounge are nice but the food is mediocre.
The perf eat brunch menu. I adored every delicious bite!
My friend and I decided to have brunch at Kingside, because I had past wonderful experiences there. I don’t know what happened, but the service/kitchen had something up. The restaurant was pretty empty (which I’ve seen before and thought it was a hidden jewel), but it took forever to get my food. First they brought the wrong meal (left it with us anyway at least but it was something I couldn’t eat), my fries came, and then I was still waiting for my sandwich. I appreciated that the server offered us a round of free drinks, but it was just odd because the place was fairly quiet and empty! Usually a great place (delicious food), so I’m chalking this up as a fluke and would still come back for their delicious food.
Reasonable place with reasonable food. We've been there on Jan 1st 2019 - expected a little more for a brunch meal option - Ordered steak and eggs - Scramble eggs underseasoned, steak ordered medium but burned taste and lacking salt and pepper, the chimichurri sauce saved the steak taste (although they forgot to bring the sauce).
I was excited to go here but the food was actually bland. The bucatini and hummus both lacked salt and flavor. The rest was great, the restaurant is great and ambiance is nice. I was disappointed with the food but perhaps I should try other things on the menu,
Service was a bit slow. We were in time, but took a bit to get our table ready, but understandable given the holidays. We had a group of 7, including 4 kids, so big order, but the waiter didn’t miss anything. Only knock was that my buddy wanted cream for his coffee, that took a while to come out. Almost 10 mins. He just ended up using his daughter’s milk, just as the cream finally came out. Overall, good experience and would recommend for brunch to friends.
Excellent food highly recommend the octopus and burrata
great place for gen x and millennials
Didn’t honor our reservation.. tried to seat us at the bar, 15mins after our reservation for a table, or said we needed to wait another 15mins for the table... crap service; food looked bad anyway
Pasta was so over cooked and awful! Food was generally not good.
Food was ok. Service was awful. Restaurant wasn’t crowded and service was beyond slow. Second time with this place and the weak service. Won’t go back
The service is really bad and the ambience is weird - like a diner. Not a good place.
Kingston has a very "light" menu which is great before going to CArnegie Hall or theater. The food was sushi focused or healthy focusted with quinoa and simply cooked chicken . Price is a bit high for the food but it is a pleasant restauarnt to dine at...
Our waiter had all of his table sat at one time and they completely forgot about us. After 15 min of no return I had to go get him. Then they just tried to ply us with free dessert and they were even out of that. The space is cool, the food is just so so. Don’t waste your time.
Please note due to kitchen issues (per the Kingside team), there is a significantly limited menu consisting of items that do not required to be cooked.
Super average across the board!
12:30 reservation on thanksgiving. Was looking for lunch food. We got the brunch menu . Lunch started at 12:00. They wouldn’t offer anything else. So our choose we’re pretty much all breakfast food. Nothing on the menu to feed my children besides eggs and pancakes which they had for breakfast already there. Service was horrible. Waited 20 mintiea for drinks and another 15 to order. Asked for a cappuccino with cinnamon and the server gave me cinnamon sticks on the side. I didn’t think asking for cinnamon with a cappuccino was such an odd request.
Limited menu options No dietary restrictions acknowledged
The restaurant was not busy yet no staff to be seen. We had finished our coffee before we got the milk for it. The meals were akin to diner meals and waited ages for our check. disappointing
One of the best spicy bloody Mary’s I’ve tried and comes with shrimp or chicken or olives or all of the above. More options than you could imagine!
terrible inattentive service for a party of 10 during offf-peak 2pm thursday lunch.
Service is a major issue at this restaurant. Everyone is polite and helpful, but that's only if your ever server shows up, and then comes back again.
Only brunch served Saturday midday. So limited options. Only about 8 tables filled yet service between courses extremely slow. Servers were perfectly pleasant but inexplicably leisurely. Food was hot, which we appreciated, but lacked body/flavor. Great look but would appreciate more ‘oomph.’
Really enjoyed the architectural ambience. The food was good. Even the small plates were delicious.
Great hostess and server!
The food was outstanding but the service was VERY slow. We ate at Kingside the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and were one of only two occupied tables...but the service was excruciatingly slow. Hope that's not the norm.
Food was good but lobster roll was extremely small compared to other sandwich options
Great place to share several dishes.
Service was very attentive if not a bit subservient. The waiter practically bowed.
Food and drinks were great. Their in-house tonic makes a big diff in the cocktails.
Very disappointed ! We have wanted to try this restaurant for a while.
My food cane when my husband was already done
And I finished my glass of wine .
The idea of going out for dinner with my husband was to eat dinner together not watch each other .
I asked fir my salad with shrimp and dressing on the side. It came with so much dressing on it. I had to wait for a new salad. The waiter just made like it was no big deal. We left it alone and did not complain .
Wish we picked another restaurant .
Scelto perché vicino all'alloggio, il locale è carino ma molto pretenzioso. Servizio scarso e cibo appena decente.
Very overpriced sides and small portions. $10 spinach for one serving?!😳
Did not love. First went when it opened for brunch. Had bad experience with service and food. Gave it another chance (a year or so later) and was not impressed. Waiter didn't pay much attention to us, forgot our fries, seemed disinterested. The food was mediocre as the best.
Got quick appetizers here when out shopping. Such a hidden gem!! Cute place and good atmosphere. Definitely order the salted beets!
We loved everything about it. Will definitely go back!
Good food, service sucked. But I was sitting in the bar
Outstanding experience! Food was absolutely delicious, service very attentive. Bar area was noisy but we were able to get a table off to the side which was quieter. Really an excellent experience.
The menu is very limited and is not the same as posted on the Open Table site. The sushi was good and very fresh. The chef likes to combine fruit with savory items which is not my preference. We couldn’t get a salt and pepper grinder that worked. After 3 attempts, some were empty and others were broken. GF items are very limited.
good location for Carnegie Hall visits.
We had Breakfast, the breakfast menu has enough choices, but nothing special/remarkable.
The desert was good, but expensive for the amount and quality we got.
Alcoholic Drinks are expensive, compared to other locations.
Overall I can recommend it.
Always my go to. Too bad it was rainy or I’d have gone up to roof top bar.
