King's Fish House - Orange
To create the ultimate seafood experience, we traveled down the highways and byways. We pulled up a seat, put on bibs, and soaked up the seafood experience: The no-name dishes with unforgettable flavor, the fresh-caught oysters and clams piled high, the hand-lettered specials on ancient chalkboards, and the savory simmer of every combination of spices imaginable. The pleasure of preparing and sharing seafood was simple and genuine, and it brought out the best in everyone. Often we felt as if we’d been welcomed into somebody’s home.
That’s what King’s Fish House is all about- and we've tried to bring all of these ideas together into one single, spectacular place, filled with camaraderie and celebration, and the things we love best. Welcome to the House that Seafood Built!

Best clam chowder and shrimp cocktail ever. Huge shrimp.
My birthday. I had dinner with 6 of my best friends. Service was impeccable up to and including separate checks...thank you Kings. The noise level was a little problematic but it was a busy night. We just added to it by talking louder. And, the food was delicious. I had Oysters Rockefeller and clam chowder. Exceptional. Surprisingly, this was my first time. It will not be my last.
Food was good, but needed more flavour. A little bland. The baked kale side dish was soggy and lacked any spice.
We had an early lunch reservation for four guests at 11:30 AM. Food and service were adequate but, we had to ask for our server a couple of times.
Pam is the best server. We enjoyed every aspect of our meal. Good job KFHO.
One of my "goto" places, great place to eat and get a cocktail. Since the remodel that opened the place up, which looks great by the way, it can get a bit noisy.
Using Open Table is the only way we go to Kings anymore because the wait is ridiculous and we don’t like dealing with the host station because they always have 5 people standing around yet not helping. I got the steak and lobster $, after biting into the lobster I had to send it back because it was drastically undercooked, then I had to send it back a second time (same piece I was eating) and it still wasnt good. The steak was purple in the middle but was hard and chewy and just tasted like a cheap piece of defrosted supermarket meat. I would’ve sent it back but by that time my 5 year old was done and we couldn’t wait any longer for anything else. I got home and was sick all night. Not going back for a while.
Another great meal at Kings. We had a crowd of seven for dinner and everyone liked something different. Nobody left disappointed!
New upgraded décor is good.
Excellent selection of seafood
Very attentive staff
Nice to be able to sit outdoors and indoors
Gets full during peak hours.
Great as always!!
Went on Mother's Day, service was admirably quick and responsive. Had a most enjoyable meal with wife.
It was ok...I had better seafood. It was blan...first and last time. And service and food took more than 30mins. Wasn't even hungry anymore. Ask that waitress if the "Captains seafood feast" was a boil and she said yes...then she came out with a whole COLD seafood platter 😒. It was 75? And it was a waste because I wanted hot food. She never insisted to take it back when I told her I thought she said it was a boil? She said she didn't know what a boil was? I told her for someone who works in a seafood resturant she should know what a boil is...which is hot seafood boiled with flavor. I wasn't happy and dessert took more than 20mins and came out blan too..my chocolate cake was dry...and the bread pudding was cold. The best thing we has was my son's chocolate ice cream. First and last time here.
Please don’t offer and confirm outdoor seating and then tell us on arrival it’s not available. We were seated in the back corner next to the kitchen. Our server was lovely and the food was excellent but we chose King’s for the outdoor seating. Hostess was less than helpful. Very disappointing.
I had the Chilean Sea Bass and it was excellent. My kids found things to eat and remodel is beautiful!
Service was slower than usual. It was mother’s day. We were seated by the kitchen. I didn’t like that at all. Super noisy. Food was good just took so long to get. We were there for over two hours for three of us.
We were there for mother’s day and everything was excellent. We loved our server
Service was alright they were busy and
I felt the service was okay . Missing utensils when need to eat and then took a long time to get them . Salad came out on a warm plate. And the value for a 28 dollar meal was poor and there was no macadamia nuts to be tasted and lacked flavor
Even though it was Mother's Day and pretty crowded, service was quick and friendly and the food tasted great.
Our go to seafood place. We usually sit on the patio which is very pleasant. This time we were seated inside and the noise level was very high making it difficult to converse effectively.
Outstanding lunch on the patio. Our server was attentive and gracious.the lobster roll sandehiches and beet salad were were delicious! Great wine list!!
The food was outstanding and the service was great. I would highly recommend Kings Fishhouse.
We come to King‘s Fish House about once every other month. We love the oysters and the food. This past experience got less than five stars because of the drink order situation. Just about towards the end of our meal I decided to order a second cocktail. We waited about 10 minutes and then asked us or server about the drink, he said he totally forgot to put the order in,which I can appreciate the honesty. He said it would be just another couple minutes and then about 10 minutes later my drink came. I just felt like if he forgot to put the order in I expected him to put a rush on the drink rather than just putting it through the normal order process. It was a little disappointing to get my drink as I was ready to leave. Overall we had a great time, just a good teaching moment for the server.
we had 6 at our table. took 15 mim to have a server they were not busy at the time we were there. we kept asking for water. finally I got up and asked for service. we did get water and bread at that time. then I got up again and said we want drinks order and appetizer and said should we order our dinner now so we can get it. . we did get service than, our bill was over 460.00 . What was going on they were not that busy when we got there. when we left at 6:00 they were busy then
Kings is always good!
We are regulars before Angels games. We always enjoy the no corkage fee for our wine and the food and service is excellent.
Server very sweet. Bread really delicious. My scallops were no where near the quality I expected. It looked like the chef cut them in half to be able to put more “scallop pieces” on the plate. Each scallop was no more than 1/4 inch high. It looked like the chef had randomly tossed them on to the plate. The veggies looked good but were drowned in the same oily fishy liquid that was on the scallops. My husband liked the swordfish and my friend like the fried Fisherman’s Platter. The lobster roll was not good per my husband who is from the east coast. Sadly disappointing.
Hadn't been to Kings Fish House since it was remodeled. We were seated with about ten minutes of our reservation time. Had a quieter table which we liked. Meals ordered at our table included the salmon dinner, a Shrimp Louie Salad, a Southwestern Salad, and one more salad that I can't remember. We also ordered a side of crispy brussel sprouts for the table as an appetizer. Brussel Sprouts were delicious, as was the bread. The salads were OK, but there was so much onion on the Shrimp Louie salad that you could smell it across the entire table. Should have requested no onion.
The remodeling of the space is excellent. The room is much more open and inviting. Will go back again.
The restaurant has been renovated and has very nice new and open feel to it. Food was excellent and the selection is outstanding.
Excellent and attentive servers.
1 star: wasn't ready for the reservation. Had to wait an additional 20 minutes to be sat. Waiter wasn't attentative because he seemed busy which was frustrating because we scheduled an earlier dinner to best the crowd
We go to King's all the time and the food is always consistently good. We usually just order a ton of appetizers because we love their sushi/sashimi. Although when sand dabs are on the menu it is a must have.
Great meal at King’s, as always! We hadn’t been there in a while, so enjoyed seeing the remodeled space. The food was excellent, and found something new on the wine list that we really enjoyed. This is a restaurant we always look forward to visiting again, for a quiet dinner or a big family celebration!
Celebrated our 30th with a dozen assorted oysters..on to grilled octopus ...and finished off with me halibut he sand dabs YUM😋
Love the no corkage policy!
The food was bland, oily and without flavor and the service very slow.
We have enjoyed King's in Victoria Gardens many times. This location was a first. First of all, we waited ore than 15 min after ordering drinks for them to show up. We waited 30 min after ordering oysters, a salad, and our mains only to have the mains show up before our starters. We sent the mains back and waited even longer before the oysters and salad showed up. Both our server and the manager were apologetic for the mix up, but then the mains showed back up before we were even partially finished with our salad. To add insult to injury, my yellowtail was overcooked and flavorless. My wife was fine with her clam fettuccini. To be fair, the manager took the yellowtail and the oysters off our check. Still, we were disappointed after enjoying another King's so highly. I don't know if they were having a bad evening or if it was new staff in the kitchen, but our visit was certainly disappointing.
We have eaten at King’s in Rancho many times, and have always had a great experience. This was my first time at Orange. The service was really slow..it took 35 min. from the time we were seated to get our first round of drinks. My friend ordered her steak medium well, and it came medium rare. They were apologetic and took it back to cook to medium well. Overall the ambiance was nice.
The service was terrible. Took approx. 20 minutes to get a drink. Out of the drink I ordered (Michelob ultra)
Fish was undercooked.
I frequent the Kings Fish House in Corona and it is always excellent.
Our server Victoria was amazing. Very friendly, professional and attentive. Great suggestions for wine and apps. Made our couples date night very enjoyable!
