King's Fish House - Orange
To create the ultimate seafood experience, we traveled down the highways and byways. We pulled up a seat, put on bibs, and soaked up the seafood experience: The no-name dishes with unforgettable flavor, the fresh-caught oysters and clams piled high, the hand-lettered specials on ancient chalkboards, and the savory simmer of every combination of spices imaginable. The pleasure of preparing and sharing seafood was simple and genuine, and it brought out the best in everyone. Often we felt as if we’d been welcomed into somebody’s home.
That’s what King’s Fish House is all about- and we've tried to bring all of these ideas together into one single, spectacular place, filled with camaraderie and celebration, and the things we love best. Welcome to the House that Seafood Built!
Great Foood,New Decor, always excellent Service. Some of the best Oysters in Orange County.
Food was very good. Our server was extremely attentive. Overall enjoyable experience.
Our first experience was a great one
The food selections, waiter and ambience was awesome for our group.
Love Kings! Great food and nice decor. Easy to substitute if needed. Try it.... you’ll like it!
Great food in a great environment. Not too noisy so that you can still here yourself talk. Servers are knowledgeable and courteous. Drinks are always filled quickly. Great place to do a business lunch.
We always enjoy dinner at Kings. The food and bar selections are great, and we always request Frank as our server. He is fantastic : )
Enjoyed an afternoon late lunch with friends, the food was prepared well and the presentation was great.
ordered a crab louie salad while the seafood was delicious the vegetables were "cut" up poorly some of the pieces were too big to eat and had to be cut up. I don't expect to have to cut up my salad, especially carrots and celery.
Fish was prepared very well. The service was awesome. Love the remodel.
We had 530 reservations and arrived 20 minutes early. The hostess was rude and said we would be checked in closer to our reservation time. Two young men walked in that she knew and she started flirting. The men were seated before us. I had to ask again when we were 3 minutes before our reservations and she completely forgot who we were. The food was cold and we spent $150 for 3 people. I still left a 30 dollar tip because our waitress was wonderful. I will not be returning though.
This place is a great mixture of various people. The food, atmosphere, and service was outstanding. This will be my go to place when I come to orange. Awesome restaurant
I was disappointed because the food at King’s on Avenida de la Carlota is so much better
A good meal. Nothing special but fresh and tasty. Good service and reasonably priced
They have rennovated the insides and it is quite nice.
I'm not certain why we were crowded into an area that was already full of people.
The rest of the restaurant was empty and we were packed in right next to the other tables.
This is a great restaurant, but food was a little off tonight. I ordered king crab legs. I understand these are always frozen ahead of time, but sometimes they are defrosted and refrozen, which results in mushy leg meat. These legs were thawed and refrozen and did not taste great.
Had a great time! They were very accommodating and gave us the the right combination of attention and leaving us alone to celebrate and enjoy family. Thank you!
Took them three times to sear my swordfish and still didn't get it right. Don't think the waiter knew what I was talking about. The swordfish cut was small and tick rather then the more conventional cut. Still a great place for oysters.
The food was amazing as usual, but our server William put our experience over the top. We had a blast chatting with him and he was genuinely interested in getting to know us. We had a lot in common and was also very helpful with menu choices. Can’t remember the bartenders name but he was great as well. Rick (I believe) at the oyster bar made a great recommendation for a first time oyster choice and my wife loved it. He was super nice and we had an amazing New Years date night.
Reservation was for 8pm and we got seated at 8:15pm. 5 minutes into the appetizers we received our main entrees.....a bit disappointing! The yuki sea bass was fantastic, but the bbq shrimp disappointed.
So... the men's room is outside. Our booth was next to the exterior door; every time someone went outside, we got slammed with the (Southern California version of) arctic blast. Other than that everything was great!
Our server was great. She interacted with us throughout the evening and made the evening very enjoyable.
The food was very good. We really like the new remodel! Our place of choice before the Duck's Hockey games as we live out of area.
Met another couple for dinner and wanted to talk and catch up. Waiter was great. Very patient. No one rushed us and we had a great time. Food was excellent. We were all pleased with our meals and the cocktails and wine were great also. Thank you!
Fish was cold. Mac & cheese cold. Veggies cold. Asked for wine list & never got it.
I made a reservation for 7pm tonight. I get there and I have to wait. I end up waiting about 15 min, then we get seated at the bar area. If I wanted to sit at the bar, I would have just walked in and sat at the bar! We ordered Oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer and we waited for about 45 min! Then the manager came around to apologize and took them off the bill. That was not the end of our wait! We waited again for our dinner! Then, my Crab Legs, baked potato, and Carrots were all cold! It was a terrible dinner experience!
This was not the first time we were seated at the bar area. I’m noticing a pattern as to who is seated at the bar area and I’m not liking it!! I don’t think I will be returning anytime soon! Very disappointing! :-(
made reservations ,was seated on time. my wife had the jumbo shrimp, which was excellent, tender, great flavor.i had the macadamia nut crusted wild alaskan halibut in orange ginger sauce. unfortunately the halibut was dry.the crust was barely there, and the orange ginger sauce was non-exsistent. for $30. I expected better. we both had the small garden salad which was very good, plus the sourdough bread also was excellent
Our entrees arrived while we were still eating our starters. They were placed on our table so they could cool down a bit until we were ready to eat them. Not a massive failing, but one would expect this sort of thing to happen at an Olive Garden's, not an upgrade restaurant.
Celebrating 2 engagements.
It was good. The server, whose name was Nancy, was TERRIFIC!!!
Always a favorite for me. The menu is extensive and the food preparation is excellent.
The newly decorated Kings Fish House looks great. I ordered the lemon sea bass which was delicious, my wife had ordered the halibut which she had really enjoyed. I would recommend Kings Fish House for a good night out and fresh fish.
Great changes in the restuarant. Really like the change. Food still the same.
Our server was truly wonderful!
Our experience did not start off well. We arrived at 4pm for our reservation. The Resturant was empty. Our party of 5 was crammed into a table top meant for four at the door, in the in lobby. We asked about other seating and were told those people had reservations. Hmmm...thought we had reservations too? Needless to say, when we left at 6:15 there were still more desirable empty tables. So I would say the front desk staff needs some better training on customer service and table management.
The waiter gave us great service and food was good. Just don't expect anything from the front desk. And now we probably won't be returning because of this experience.
Very good fish with outdoor dining and space heaters for cool afternoon/evening.
We go to Kings at least once a month. The food is always predictable because it is always AWESOME!!! We would not go back if it wasn't. The food is fresh, served quickly, and is delicious. See you soon!!!
I tried something different & more pricey, because it was my birthday. Sea Scallops on sauteed wheat w/kale on the side. The scallops were uneven (undercooked in the center & slightly rubbery on the outside. The wheat & the kale were both undercooked in my opinion (I sent the wheat back). Fortunately I got a free dessert (key lime pie) which made up for the mediocre meal. Should've stuck with a dish I'd been happy with before.
Love the new decor!
service was outstanding and friendly. food was above average in taste and quantity.. Will definitely return again
We go here often, the food and service are always exceptional
