King's Fish House - Orange
To create the ultimate seafood experience, we traveled down the highways and byways. We pulled up a seat, put on bibs, and soaked up the seafood experience: The no-name dishes with unforgettable flavor, the fresh-caught oysters and clams piled high, the hand-lettered specials on ancient chalkboards, and the savory simmer of every combination of spices imaginable. The pleasure of preparing and sharing seafood was simple and genuine, and it brought out the best in everyone. Often we felt as if we’d been welcomed into somebody’s home.
That’s what King’s Fish House is all about- and we've tried to bring all of these ideas together into one single, spectacular place, filled with camaraderie and celebration, and the things we love best. Welcome to the House that Seafood Built!

Great meal at King’s, as always! We hadn’t been there in a while, so enjoyed seeing the remodeled space. The food was excellent, and found something new on the wine list that we really enjoyed. This is a restaurant we always look forward to visiting again, for a quiet dinner or a big family celebration!
Celebrated our 30th with a dozen assorted oysters..on to grilled octopus ...and finished off with me halibut he sand dabs YUM😋
Love the no corkage policy!
The food was bland, oily and without flavor and the service very slow.
We have enjoyed King's in Victoria Gardens many times. This location was a first. First of all, we waited ore than 15 min after ordering drinks for them to show up. We waited 30 min after ordering oysters, a salad, and our mains only to have the mains show up before our starters. We sent the mains back and waited even longer before the oysters and salad showed up. Both our server and the manager were apologetic for the mix up, but then the mains showed back up before we were even partially finished with our salad. To add insult to injury, my yellowtail was overcooked and flavorless. My wife was fine with her clam fettuccini. To be fair, the manager took the yellowtail and the oysters off our check. Still, we were disappointed after enjoying another King's so highly. I don't know if they were having a bad evening or if it was new staff in the kitchen, but our visit was certainly disappointing.
We have eaten at King’s in Rancho many times, and have always had a great experience. This was my first time at Orange. The service was really slow..it took 35 min. from the time we were seated to get our first round of drinks. My friend ordered her steak medium well, and it came medium rare. They were apologetic and took it back to cook to medium well. Overall the ambiance was nice.
The service was terrible. Took approx. 20 minutes to get a drink. Out of the drink I ordered (Michelob ultra)
Fish was undercooked.
I frequent the Kings Fish House in Corona and it is always excellent.
Our server Victoria was amazing. Very friendly, professional and attentive. Great suggestions for wine and apps. Made our couples date night very enjoyable!
We had previously been to King's down in San Diego and thought it was okay so when my husband suggested we try this one while staying in Anaheim I was reluctant. Im glad he won this one. The food was excellent and our service was outstanding. We shared a grilled Artichoke, edamame and a dozen raw oysters. For entrees we tried the seared scallops, the lemon nut crusted sea bass with sauteed spinach and french fries and my son had fried shrimp. For dessert we had the butter cake with vanilla ice cream and fresh fruit. There was not one thing I change. Definitely would come here again.
The food was great. And very glad we ate outside. Very quiet out there.
The service was terrific.
Great food, great service. We felt the servings were a little small for the price, and really wish that a dinner salad was one of the side dis choices like it used to be.
Our dinners were delicious and served promptly considering it was very crowded. We come here often and like the lively ambiance. Lots of screens to watch sports too.
Our food seemed cold and over cooked . Probably from sitting too long prior to serving
Food and drinks were very good. Our server was outstanding. She knew the menu well and described the dishes well. She made the dining very pleasurable.
Our server Pam, I think, was absolutely amazing!!! Thank you for wonderful service!
We always enjoyed King's but since the remodel we like it even better. Love the oyster bar and love that the restaurant is still kid friendly. Also love the wine offerings by the glass these days there. Great place to eat in Orange.
We've been to this restaurant three times in the last year. The first time the food and service was excellent. The second time we went the food was okay and the service was good. This last time the food was extremely dry and overcooked which is the main reason for the mediocre rating. As usual, the service was excellent.
Excellent food as always, but service was very slow.
Great food - enjoyed the Shrimp Louie salad and wonderful fresh bread! Our service, for some reason, was very slow, though my companion assured me that it was not normal.
The service and food never disappoint here. They were a tad slow with refilling the drinks given how slow it seemed to be but no real complaints. The mahi mahi was delicious!
We love, love, love this place. The food is always so fresh and delicious. Last time I had the shrimp and scallops with a baked potato and zucchini. It was a wonderful meal. I loved it. My husband got the crab cakes with cole slaw and brussel sprouts. My mouth is watering just thinking about going back. Last two times we got a spiny lobster and it was better than live Main lobster because it was so meaty. The clam chowder is amazing too!!!
Katie our server was super welcoming and attentive. Our first visit to King’s was made even better by her service. Try the poke, so good.
Food was great
Seafood was tasty but a little to greasy. Handicap (2) parking in front on the far left of resaurant, while the ramp is all the way to the right and around the side almost to the rear of the building. Service was good and accommodating. Not recommended for budget minded couples or family's.
The sever assistant/busser tried clearing the oysters but I politely informed him we had 2 left(very small, so hard to tell, understandable) then when I wasn’t paying attention bc I was trying to help feed my niece, someone came and cleared them anyways. So, we lost 2 perfectly good oysters. Later the same busser who I had just watched lean against the back server station for the last 5 minutes walked by so I asked him if we could get more milk for my niece in her kids cup. His response was “that’s the servers job” I was so appalled at his answer I was left speechless.
Look, I know I’m not at a 5 star restaurant experience but for someone to deny a child more to drink out of pure laziness is absolutely unacceptable. You can’t pour a child a glass of milk? Really?
My family and I have been coming here for probably almost 20 years. My sister, whom was with us worked here MANY years ago. We are not just someone random stopping in for 1 visit.
The remodel looked great and I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. But with associates who lack the ability to do the simplest request, I can’t imagine us coming back. I’d rather drive to a different location.
We love Kings because every time we come we get great food, great service and the restaurant is always clean and comfortable.
We have eaten at King's Fish House on several occasions. The food is great and they have an extensive wine list. I had the Oyster's Rockefeller. It is outstanding. Melt in the mouth good. My wife had the spiny lobster. It was too much for one person.
Excellent restaurant and a continual place for us.
Love this restaurant! Filet mignon was outstanding and so was my Crusted Halibut! The ambiance is awesome! I’m coming back soon!
The restaurant has been completely renovated, and it is most attractive and comfortable. There's a lot of patio seating. You can take your own wine and there's no corkage fee. (You might want to ask to confirm.) Take your group for happy hour on the patio and then go in for dinner for a perfect evening. In Orange, if there's an Angels or Ducks game, the restaurant is packed, I heard.
Veggies and mashed potatoes were cold.
The fish here is good but I would say just $2-3 per fish overpriced. Not crazy. One drink and the salmon was $50. The Orange location shares the parking with several other restaurants. Friday night parking is tough.
Great place for lunch. Good fresh fish and a good variety on the menu. Excellent service. Cheerfully accommodated our group of seven with an outside table.
Excellent. Food was delicious. Our server was wonderful.
I love this restaurant but my sand dabs were terrible. I should have sent them back, but was having a nice evening and didn’t do it
My husband and I are two completely different diners. He travels the world for business and eats in amazing places...me - I’m a down home meat and potatoes gal. So this review is good - just picky. First - our server was a bit scattered - but he made up for it in humor and attentiveness- so he gets an “A”. We were seated promptly with our open table reservation - another “A”. Special cocktail was prepared “A++”. I ordered the Caesar salad - which was fresh, perfectly dressed and HUGE - and the Ahi tuna appetizer as a main. Unfortunately it was super spicy (for me - I find salt and pepper spicy), wish it had been identified as spicy on the menu - but I brought the left overs home and my son assured me that it was delish. Picky hubby had the crab cake appy - said he thought it was pre-prepared and would have preferred it to be a bit lumpy-er. But he had the Ono for dinner - and it was like heaven on a plate. Chef prepared it medium rare and it tasted like butter - kudos. Place is busy (so really that’s a good thing - means people like it) and it’s noisy (because people like it) - and would we go again - absolutely!!
Great food and service. The lobster and oysters were so delicious!!! Highly recommend
Great sea food option - presentation of food was good and service was great. Location gets packed so arrive early or prepare to park a little further out.
This is my wife’s favorite restaurant. We were celebrating her birthday. She ordered the shrimp and scallops. They were wonderful!! I ordered the crab cakes. It was a great way to celebrate her birthday.
We dine at King's frequently and have never been disappointed. We had out favorite waiter (Frankie) and everything was outstanding. We entertained some new friends and they enjoyed the entire evening.
This is an updated review....been coming to King’s for close to 20 years, last trip in March was not good. I left a detailed negative review and was very shortly thereafter contacted by their management team. They were very receptive to my concerns and seemed committed to addressing the issues. I appreciate the follow up of management and will be back to Kings Fish House and recommend others try this place. Seems perhaps my last experience was an off night for them.
