King's Fish House - Mission Valley
To create the ultimate seafood experience, we traveled down the highways and byways. We pulled up a seat, put on bibs, and soaked up the seafood experience: The no-name dishes with unforgettable flavor, the fresh-caught oysters and clams piled high, the hand-lettered specials on ancient chalkboards, and the savory simmer of every combination of spices imaginable.
The pleasure of preparing and sharing seafood was simple and genuine, and it brought out the best in everyone. Often, we felt as if we’d been welcomed into somebody’s home.
That’s what King’s Fish House is all about — and we’ve tried to bring all of these ideas together into one single, spectacular place, filled with camaraderie and celebration, and the things we love best. Welcome to the House that Seafood Built!

Food was great and the service was fantastic. Thanks Sylvia!
Crab cakes were pretty good. Service was quick and efficient, just not alot of interaction/rapport. Seafood mediocre in cook and flavor. Better than red lobster, but not worth the higher prices.
Prices up significantly from just a few months ago.
Dinners were a bit pricey. Spinach was disappointing. Service was friendly and efficient.
Great food and service. I gave 5 stars for value-it’s a little pricey but worth it!
Apps were great, but both Sea Bass dishes were over cooked,
Good food options and the food is always tasty. We have had poor service the last two times we were there from not being waited on, checked on, or not receiving items such as the complimentary bread (and yes, all the tables around us got bread) to not receiving the things we asked for (ranch or ketchup). We'll keep going here since its a full service seafood restaurant that's within walking distance to us but we have tempered our expectations for service.
delicious food as always, only complaint was not alot of seafood in the spicy seafood soup. I always get it and it has tons of different seafood in it, this time mostly broth, but it was still good
Disappointed that happy hour is gone for more. Rip off for Oysters $3 each. Rest of experience very good as in the past.
The halibut and sea bass were both overcooked. I was drinking water and I was never refilled until I asked at the end of the evening. The hot sampler crab cakes dry, coconut shrimp and calamari was over fried. Unfortunately, the experience for my out of town guest was not good.
Disappointed with the Caesar salad dressing (no anchovies) had more of a lemony taste. Wasn't quite up to par according to my expectation. My son had the King's Combo Platter, which he enjoyed. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant & dine here again. I'll just try another dish. Excellent service from our waitress. Oh, very pricey.
Food was fresh. Servers were always checking on us and getting anything we needed.
King's is our "go to" place for seafood, especially the oysters.
food was awesome! seafood - fresh!!
we sat outside & really enjoyed it. thank you guys!
King's is always a great place to eat... Our server this time was Taylor and she was great. All the staff is always prompt and friendly... food was great and the bread, oh that bread is legit! Thanks again for another great meal!
It was a bit bright in the restaurant for dining in the evening. But food and service were excellent.
It was like it was before Covid-a delicious meal and great atmosphere.
Except for the loud and rude family seated behind us which I can’t fault King’s for.
For the price food was not worth it. Undercooked/overcooked food. Appetizer tasted better than main courses. Drink prices at be bar cost more than a drink on the LV strip and small portions. Overall not worth the money or drive.
Extremely slow service
Our sever was so courteous, knowledgeable and attentive!
We waited for our table although we had made a reservation. Service by our waiter was excellent, but it was slow. Its usually slow at this location, but it was more so than usual. Our food was excellent, so it all worked out in the end.
Our server said this place has been open for 20 years and it sure felt that way. The food was nothing special and neither was the atmosphere. It was my birthday was excited about trying a new restaurant out as I had never been there before but was soon let down.
Steak was very bad, not worth the money. The restroom was very filthy :/ the only good thing is the clam chowder here.
The waitress was really nice and had great suggestions. I recommend getting reservations if not it can be a long wait. The England clam chowder was really good. I got mahi mahi with asparagus roasted and garlic mash potatoes. The mahi mahi was on dry side, i wasn't impressed. The mash potatoes was not great, lack flavor and dry as well. The key lime pie was delicious which our waitress recommended along with the clam chowder and asparagus which were delicious.
Food was awesome, a bit expensive but fish and steak entrees were amazing!
Our party of three enjoyed a range of food--from catfish main dish, to two kinds of salads for pair of sisters--and split a buttercream cake. Everything was great. Had two servers (one a trainee) so service was exceptionally attentive.
I decided to take my wife somewhere new for date night. She is from New Orleans and loves seafood but is often unimpressed by the quality and freshness in San Diego. She was not disappointed! Our waiter was very helpful and, when I asked for a drink recommendation, knocked it out of the park. The food (oysters, crab cakes, swordfish, scallops, shrimp, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and zucchini, were fresh and prepared well. We will definitely be back.
Keith was AMAZING, he’s so attentive and personal . We enjoy our dinner and his service was great ! First time there and we enjoyed it . Can’t wait to return and try something else !
Perfect service and scallops is tasty!
Family visiting from out of state so I took them to dinner.
Food was very good but we had soft shell crabs (a favorite) that were very fresh but about 3 weeks from truly being soft shell. Service was slow but I suspect that was because restaurants are having a hard time hiring staff. But our waitress was very helpful and was clearly working very hard. Inside it was a bit noisy so better outside. I would go back again.
Great waitress, great food, great Cadillac margaritas (not sugar sweet, their own recipe), was a great experience!
Good seafood prepared perfectly and served hot with excellent service by Frank.
Long time favorite, not been in 2 years because of current public health issue. Exactly as wonderful as remembered. Service, food great. A little pricey for lunch but all goes to food & service. Disappointed to see some kind of Burger place slapped on the end of King's so a little trouble honing in. Once seated had a lovely table outside & could almost feel like you were in a garden . Definitely will be returning.
Need to add gluten free alternatives to menu - bread; desserts
Extremely slow service despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Had to ask for things like forks, straws, etc multiple times. Food took a long time. We come here a lot and this was very disappointing.
When they get busy, service can be very slow. We waited 20 minutes for a menu. Then 20 minutes for her to return to take our order. Thank goodness they gave us water meanwhile.
Drink service extremely slow. Kitchen service slow too. Katie our waitress did the best she could.
It took about 30 minutest to get drinks and an hour for food. I don't blame the staff. They were understaffed - it's on the management. Our food took forever and was not even hot. I would not eat here until staffing returns to "normal." It's too expensive for this low quality of food and service.
