Ordered the fish and chips. Fries were greasy and limp, Cole slaw was tasteless. My wife ordered the macadamian crusted yellow tail. It was good. We asked the waiter to box up the leftovers, put both meals in the same container, but didn't box the rice. Will not be going back. Other options in price range that provide better value.
Brought my mom here for her birthday - all around great food, service, ambiance - we will be back!
We loved the Napa cabbage salad. The shrimp skewer that came on top of it had the best flavor! The sole special was very good, and they accommodated my dietary needs (no starches) beautifully!
Kingfisher participated in Dine Out for Safety, so we went there. The food was really good. Healthy and very flavorful. I was impressed with the seafood selections, and very much enjoyed my selections. The service was attentive and professional. Selection of beer and wine was very nice. We will go again.
Good choices on the menu with moderate prices. Nice nautical decor but the acoustics are bad. If you are dining for a quite occasion, such as an anniversary (as we were), you may want to reconsider or deal with it. The ceiling is very high and the noise level from a full room of conversations drowned out our conversation. This was a Wednesday evening, and the place was packed. The service was great and the food was delicious. I had a macadamia-encrusted fish, which the restaurant is known for. The server told us that they switch the fish for this entree, and that night was red snapper. It was terrific! My husband had the fish and chips. The fish was fresh and tasty, and the coating was nice and crunchy. He also had a bowl of the roasted chili verde soup, which was very good (with a little kick). Would definitely go back!
Eleven of us went to support Dine Out For Safety. The food was good and the service was great. IT was wonderful that Kingfisher has offered to be apart of Dine out for Safety for several years.
4/18/18. It’s a tradition for us to get together to support Dine Out for Safety. As always, Kingfisher was great!
Kingfisher is always excellent. The food is creative, but simple. Had the special dover sole in lobster broth, excellent on a bed of butternut risotto. Great combination. Good wine list.
Had a lovely round table in the back. Had great oysters and ribs! Wonderful server.
The bar was loud at happy hour. It was a nice experience overall. Service and food were above average.
The food was wonderful and the service perfect We had a great meal and a great evening.
Nice lunch, the staff was great. My guest and myself were treated with respect.
We had dined here a number of years ago and were delighted we retuned. Both of our entrees were excellent and the oysters on the half shell were excellent as well. The service, which was attentive , prompt and professional, complimented the food. We look forward to returning on our next trip to Tucson.
Excellent service and great food!
Given that we read glowing reviews for this restaurant we were disappointed particularly as
It was a special occasion dinner. The Caesar salads we ordered were not the same size. Anchovies were non-existent while the dressing was nothing special. We have had better in lower priced establishments. We both had the Macadamia crusted Hawaiian fish which lacked any sort of distinctive flavour. Again, a sad disappointment.
The dessert, we chose Tiramisu, was a hit and made up a little ground for the generally underwhelming dining experience.
The final bill was more befitting to a high priced esrpstablishment in New York or London rather than Tucson.
Cabbage salad, sea bass, trout, and chocolate torte all fantastic! Great ambiance, service, and value.
Cievche was best part of the meal, snapper was over done, sea bass just ok, desert was not fresh. 3 stars is generous.
Had Sunday Easter Dinner, it was great. The best seafood in the city. Had reservations but arrived a bit early so we were seated immediately. Food delivered promptly with spacing for appetizers. Delicious dessert. We recommend for special occasions.
We were seated right away. We always get Oysters when we go and as always they were delicious. We tried every kind they had that night. My husband and I both had a special which were excellent - one was lamb and one was halibut. Our daughters also enjoyed their dinner. We have never been disappointed at Kingfisher.
The Hawaiian fish was heavenly! Our waitstaff was very good. Thank you Kingfisher, for a delightful evening.
Took my 94 year-old grandad out. The evening was perfect!
Had not been there for quite awhile as I moved out of the midtown area and am surrounded by very good restaurants. But, it was all great, so, I will be back with some frequency!
I love the restaurant. The food is always delicious and Sampson is the most gracious server.
My wife and I had an excellent experience there visiting from out of state. The atmosphere was superb and our attendant was very courteous and professional. My wife enjoyed the Sea Bass and I was very impressed with the Arctic Char. For dessert, my wife loved the pecan pie and I enjoyed the apple crumb cake. When we return to Tucson, we will definitely make reservations to eat there again.
Oysters were excellent. Service was great. Only minus the back room was a tad to cool for my wife.
Seafood is the main reason to dine here. Always pleasant, a local favorite.
The staff went out of their way to provide a memorable Birthday dinner. We will return!!!
We heard Kingfisher had great seafood and it lived up to its reputation. My husband and I split the macadamia-crusted fish and the sea bass as well as the Caesar salad. Our friends also enjoyed their fish dishes, including a nightly swordfish special. Our waiter was attentive and made sure we got beverages and food at the pace we wanted and then kept our coffee and water refilled as we visited with our friends after our meal. Will definitely return.
Delicious fresh fish items, said to be sustainable, with additional daily specials.
It is not often that I wake up the next day thinking about a dish I had the day before. The sea bass tostada at Kingfisher is one of those dishes. Perfectly executed, great balance of flavor, creative and just delicious! This one is a keeper!
We were early and the greeter got is in right away. Parking was a little troubling but it worked out. Food was great and the drinks were top of the line.
Waitress and staff did an excellent job considering the circumstances. Thank you.
We were seated at 5:00 pm on a Saturday, and the room became inordinately noisy even that early. The warm cabbage salad was a great, good surprise, and the St. Patrick's corned beef, cabbage and soda bread were remarkable. The service was less than comfortable, perhaps because of the noise. Overall, bravo to Kingfisher; please use the profits to retrofit the acoustics.
Great food, service
Kingfisher is a good comfortable restaurant. The food is quite good and service is also good. It’s a little bit of a trip from where we live so we don’t get there often, but when we go it is always worth the trip.
We all had fish. All three items were excellent! The service was also excellent. Will definitely go back.
Delicious food, excellent attentive service! We both had the swordfish special and it was delicious! We'll be back!
Terrific fish and chips and outstanding scallops. Service was friendly and attentive, cocktails were icy cold and perfectly done. One of my favorite restaurants, consistently excellent.
On vacation and always looking for a good food so we took a flyer on a seafood restaurant in the desert. The Kingfisher did not disappoint. Interesting craft cocktails that were well thought out. The selection of fresh oysters was good and the ones we selected were fresh and tasty. The entrees were great as well. The restaurant was a little noisy and may be a problem if were crowded. Over all a good experience.
We were a group of six gals but Open Table put our reservation in for 2 people which might have been a problem as the place was packed...but quickly the manager steered us to the bar where there were two tables which we pushed together and had our dinner there....delicious trout, lobster roll, fish and chips, drinks and a very pleasant place to be.....everyone was very polite and friendly. We were appreciative as we only get together once a year (for Book Festival) and know we will return next year. Thank you so much!!
