Waitress and staff did an excellent job considering the circumstances. Thank you.
Kingfisher is a good comfortable restaurant. The food is quite good and service is also good. It’s a little bit of a trip from where we live so we don’t get there often, but when we go it is always worth the trip.
Delicious food, excellent attentive service! We both had the swordfish special and it was delicious! We'll be back!
Terrific fish and chips and outstanding scallops. Service was friendly and attentive, cocktails were icy cold and perfectly done. One of my favorite restaurants, consistently excellent.
We were a group of six gals but Open Table put our reservation in for 2 people which might have been a problem as the place was packed...but quickly the manager steered us to the bar where there were two tables which we pushed together and had our dinner there....delicious trout, lobster roll, fish and chips, drinks and a very pleasant place to be.....everyone was very polite and friendly. We were appreciative as we only get together once a year (for Book Festival) and know we will return next year. Thank you so much!!
Can't believe how this place has gone down hill in the last decade. This restaurant used to be one of the top restaurants in the Old Pueblo. It is now billed as Tucson's only real "seafood" restaurant, but don't count on all the selections being well-prepared. Took a friend there for a "welcome to Tucson" dinner and we ordered steamed clams and mussels to start. Mussels were okay...nothing great. The broth was bland. Clams were so full of sand that I sent the order back after trying 3 clams and spitting them out. The second batch they brought was no better. There was still grit in every clam I tried, plus the clams were so salty and tough I couldn't eat them. Salmon was overcooked, but not horrible. The $7.00 Caesar salad would have fit easily into a 1-cup measuring cup, with room to spare, and the dressing had no hint of anchovies. Clam Chowder was 85% mediocre liquid. Bread was okay--it passed for bread. $8.50 bourbon praline torte was pitiful, and that's all I'll say about that. My guest said she enjoyed her dinner, but I think she was just being polite. Thank God we ordered a nice wine ($40.00). They at least still know how to buy and store wine. All in all, an extremely disappointing $180.00 dinner for two people.
Very good dining experience. Will stop again next time we are in town.
Food was fantastic - Oyster Rockefeller was outstanding as always. The Scottish salmon was prepared perfectly and the rest of the items within the dish delightfully complimented the salmon. The martinis were spot on - not overpowering with sweetness or booze, but definitely did the job. Amazing experience all around.
This is a favorite spot when we visit Tucson for a break from Chicago winters. The service is always gracious and efficient. Wine list is good. Seafood is outstanding, fresh and well prepared. It is well worth a visit, no matter how far you have to drive.
Only complaint was clams were very sanding and hard to eat. Told waiter but no response. Rest of meal was great
Had the Ebi special. Fish was okay but slightly over cooked. Should have removed the blood line. The sauce saved the dish. Excellent service although the bus boy removed my not empty wine glass while I was in the restroom apparently thinking I had left.
We loved everything about Kingfisher: Good menu selections for a variety of preferences and tastes; quiet, comfortable ambience; wonderful food; very good service. We'll be back.
The food was delicious and the service was perfect.
Had the best time. Waiter was great and knowledgeable. Food was fantastic!
Was a little skeptical of the place from the outside. Couldn't see how they could fit all the people tied to all the cars.
Not to worry, they are quite large inside.
Food was good, service was good, although the decor needs a little work.
Another satisfying fish meal at kingfishers. The trout was outstanding! Very enjoyable evening with friends, drinks & supper. Service was very attentive.
Kingfisher is our favorite Tucson restaurant. The food is always amazing and fresh!
The food was really delicious. Everyone enjoyed his or her meal. My only complaint was my burger was cooked to perfection but it wasn’t super hot.
My choice for a birthday dinner out. loved it all from the warm cabbage salad, sea bass with potatoes and vegetables to a lovely house special for dessert-pear and almond tarte.
A fish and chips entree was excellent as were mahi mahi with tropical touches ordered by 2 diners.
Service was excellent and prices were reasonably mid-range. I look forward to the next opportunity to return!
Good staff, friendly host, good food but limited selections. It was my wife’s birthday and the host said happy birthday to her when we arrived.
Party of four, looking for a really good seafood dinner, and we found it. Not a large menu but sufficient to cover what seafood dish you were in the mood for. Al four ordered different menu items and all were very satisfied. Food was prepared just as it should be and served hot at the table. Drinks were all good and service was excellent. Highly recommend.
We found this to be a wonderful dining experience! Food, service, and ambiance were outstanding!
We were on vacation from Michigan and were referred to King Fisher by a couple of snow birds from Boston. They said it was the best seafood in town and we agreed! Excellent ambiance, service and food.
As an out of town guest I was extremely surprised and impressed with my meal. I have spent considerable time in Tucson but had not heard of this gem.
The staff is extremely cordial and works to make you feel welcomed. There are several fish options and we tried three. Each one was cooked to order and accurately. I highly encourage one to make a point to dine here.
OMG! We were looking for a fish place and we found this gem! Sure it is a throwback but so worth it from a great friendly experience at the bar to a wonderful attentive wait staff that was slammed. A very well oiled machine and each staff member flowed with professional taste and refined experience!
This will be our MUST return place when back in Tucson!
Thanks everyone for a great evening and fantastic food!
Who would think a fish restaurant in Tucson would be so delicious? From the outside looks like a 1950’s throwback but delightful inside and well worth the visit for very fresh fish, well-prepared
Packed on a Tuesday night! That tells you something! Service was still spot on, the drinks were well crafted and our main dishes were delicious. We each ordered a special of the evening. One steelhead and one monkfish. Both were cooked perfectly and very flavorful.
An enjoyable experience. We're tourists and wanted something authentic that wasn't Mexican food which we lie but is over-abundant. Our main criticism was that almost everything was at the top end of the price range--too expensive. That issue prevented us from ordering extras beyond the main entrée.
The two of us had the monk fish special with asparagus and wild rice. Delicious! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Kingfisher always has good service and food.
I have been coming to this restaurant for years. I have never been disappointed. The service , the food And the drinks are all wonderful!
Kingfisher never fails to please. Service is the best in Tucson. Food may be a little pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Noise level is a little high for my taste but manageable.
We were seated promptly, the waiter was very good and cocktails excellent. The main course was not hot , almost room temperature. Between 2 people it cost $200.00 with tip so would have expected main course to be exceptional.
Another AWESOME meal at the Kingfisher. Loved the grilled and chilled shrimp, scallops with risotto, and Caesar salad. Great liquor and wine list. Best seafood in Tucson. You can’t go wrong with anything here.
Our Valentine's Day dinner was as good as we anticipated. Special menu items were excellent. We've never been disappointed at Kingfisher!
Always good service. Had beef tenderloin in a delicious sauce. We love this restaurant. They also have the best ribs in town.
We were fortunate to use a gift certificate so it made our lunch even more enjoyable. 😊
We dined on Fat Tuesday. It was a great fun environment. Our food was delicious and we had the special New Orleans menu items. Everything was good with the exception of dessert. We were very disappointed in our $15 bananas foster for two. I use the plural word "bananas" loosely. The dessert was prepared table side. I expected to enjoy more than half a banana in the dessert. What a shock! The mixture was served with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. When the preparer poured the warm banana mixture into the frozen cold dish it congealed and got very hard right away. Wish we had ordered the bread pudding for our sweet treat!
This was a first time visit for us. We decided to check out Kingfishers for the Mardi Gras event . Great music, energy, service and food! We could definitely make this an annual event. Plan on going back.
We've been to Kingfisher three times now and have had excellent experiences every time. This review will highlight our February 13, 2018, visit that featured a Mardi Gras menu along with the regular menu. One word: outstanding! This was probably the very BEST meal I've had in years.
The food. With an appetizer of Baked Oyster Storyville with warm bread/butter, and glasses of Pinot Grigio, our taste buds were delighted with only a desire for more NOLA food. We ordered the jambalaya and crawfish etoufee and I have to say that this was the best jambalaya I've ever had! With shrimp, Andouille sausage, and ham with the expert use of Cajun spices, the melding of flavors would satisfy any aspiring Creole or Cajun. The crawfish etoufee was also a solid dish featuring a dark roux and abundant crawfish.
Then ... there was dessert. King Cake and Bananas Foster. Like a cinnamon roll but with Mardi Gras coloring, this was perfectly baked and presented -- and with a baby inside. I won a T-shirt. Very proud moment. :-) The Bananas Foster was also made in front of us, flaming and all, and you can never get enough of that...
The staff. From the greeter to the servers to everyone, Kingfisher clearly knows how to treat customers well and appreciate their business. Great job, gang!!
Kingfisher is one of my favorite restaurants in Tucson and I know we'll go there again and again....
