When we arrived we told the person at the front host our name with 4 in our reservation. He did not say the other 2 members of our party were already seated. After sitting in the bar, for 15 minutes, I walked upstairs and saw the other members of our party seated. That was not acceptable. After letting the host of my displeasure, he offered to pay for our drinks. The rest to the evening was outstanding.

Our meals and appetizers were brought to our table at the same time. We asked for our meals to be brought out later. When we received our meals they had been sitting under a heat lamp and our fish was over cooked. We asked to speak with the manager and after 10 minutes of waiting two servers came to tell us that the manager wasn’t willing to leave the party they were hosting to speak with us. The last time we ate here we had issues too. We won’t be back.

Kingfish used to a favorite of mine, but the last few times the service was abysmal and the mediocre at best. The place feels likes it is super disorganized amongst the staff, clearly needs to take a hard look at themselves. It’s too bad because it was my go to, nearby place to take friends and visiting family.

Food: Our calamari starter was very greasy. I had fish tacos and they were ok perhaps spoiled by the lack of drink (IE attention by the over worked waiter) and the poor starter with grease all over the plate.

Hostess was ATROCIOUS - made us wait more than 10 minutes to even greet us though we had a reservation. The line waiting for any attention grew. But the wait staff was good and friendly though, so perhaps the hostess fail was just an anomaly. Good food, great menu, loud and lively ambiance.

Worst Experience Ever! It was a Friday night and we were going to be celebrating wife’s 50th B-day - wanted it to be Special. Even noted it on my OpenTable reservation, which was pretty much the ONLY good experience. Started off bad when we walked in the door and went downhill from there. Showed up 4 minutes early and had to wait 10 minutes (with no one in front of us) to even SEE a hostess....maybe she was pinching a loaf? Then were asked to wait another 10 minutes to be seated...and there were TONS of empty tables. Problem was not enough staff, only 2 waiters serving the entire upstairs. Ordered drinks as soon as we sat down...tough week at work and I was ready to have 3 STIFF cocktails. About 10 mins later she came back and took our appetizer order and our food order. Got our appetizers and things continued to head downhill. Oysters looked to be about 3 months old (tiny), fried calamari was soggy and daughter refused to eat them. As we started on the appetizers we realized we didn’t have plates...and still didn’t have our drink order...not even water. Asked for and finally got water just as the appetizers were about finished (except for the fried calamari!). Then got the food...but STILL DIDNT HAVE OUR DRINK ORDER. Are you kidding me! Nope. We considered canceling our drink order but couldn’t find our waitress... drinks finally came as we were about 1/2 done with our main course and they were awful. Worst Old Fashioned I’ve ever had and the girls Shirley Temples were disgusting. How do you F@$# - up a Shirley Temple. To top it all off my father-in-law got food poisioning from the fish and spent the whole night driving the porcelain bus. Got the bill and paid a ridiculous $300 for 5 people with 3 adult beverages...2 of which were beer. So much for those 3 STIFF cocktails... then again I did get the SHAFT! Shame, shame, shame. How this place stays in business is beyond me...then again this is California... everyone gets a F@$#!*% medal!

This is the second year we have had a meeting at Kingfish. This year the menu had changed, the service was awful and of all the orders, only the mac and cheese was edible. How do you manage to make salads absolutely inedible? The steaks ordered rare were almost burned. It was tbe worst meal and service I have ever had.

The restaurant was very cold. There was no heat because they said it was broken, they had minimal space heaters and the huge fireplace in the room was not lit or working. This made for a very undesirable eating experience

I’ve been here many times so was surprised by the menu limited yet unhealthy menu choices and the tasteless meals. $100 for dinner and left hungry and disappointed. It’s changed

Kingfish is one of our favorite restaurants but our last visit was mediocre at best. Its a totally different experience sitting upstairs as opposed the the main floor and we felt we had been banished to the kids table! Our service was actually awful; our waiter seemed very poorly trained in even the basics and forgot one of our appetizers. The food was consistently good so we will go back but this time was disappointing, especially since the occasion was special.

We have dined at KingFish on several occasions. The service was way below what we experienced in the past. First a wrong entire was brought to our table. When the right one arrived it was not complete. Another entire was delivered several minutes after all others were delivered.

I was very disappointed with the service we received at Kingfish. We chose this restaurant so we can have a festive birthday dinner for my sister and instead we were abandoned by our waiter, no bread after saying bread is on the way, were never asked if we wanted a second round of drinks (which we were actually looking forward to!), and there wasn't even an acknowledgment of my sister's birthday although it was noted and verbally communicated several times. We waited so long for our check (over 25 minutes) that my family and I actually had to leave prior to everyone else because our kids were getting too restless just sitting there. When we arrived we were one of just a small handful of guests on the top floor so I'm not sure why we received such poor treatment. Since I made the reservations I felt bad for having my entire family deal with such a bad dinner experience.
