The place is very big; nicely done; has a beautiful bar. The service was great. No wait for a table as the place is huge. The food was fantastic. I will definitely go back.

We love going to King Umberto’s and really enjoy their food, the ambiance is great and the noise level was very low so you can actually have a conversation. My only complaint is that when I ordered my fillet of Sole I was told it came with pasta. I asked if they had angel hair and was told yes. So I ordered angel hair pasta with vodka sauce When the bill came they charged me $5.85 extra for the angel hair pasta. I feel that I should have been told that there was an extra fee for the angel hair pasta. Other then that we had a delicious meal

King Umberto NEVER disappoints!! It’s where I celebrate my birthday EVERY year. The delicious food, excellent service, and beautiful ambiance makes for an excellent dining experience every time!

I rarely write reviews but this experience demanded one. I’m not from the area. Friends on Long Island told me ahead of time that I chose a very well known, excellent restaurant. 1st time there. Ate in their Patio area dining hall. The food met my very high standards. Shared a few appies and other dishes, including a porterhouse (cooked successfully to a medium rare as requested and was able to get a nicely charred “crust”) and a chicken parm (on par with the very best I’ve had (I suspect that they use high quality tomatoes, possibly but not necessarily San Marzano, that they cook down to a very thick sauce, not a marinara preparation). The wine list is impressive for the depth, breadth and the extraordinarily fair prices….the 2017 Travaglini Gattinara Riserva that Ciro’s son recommended based on my preferences was $90 per bottle. I know Gattinaras well and this one was singing. Excellent. I had asked about a need for decanting and he said it’s excellent without. And he was spot on. Bravo! Another bravo deserved: per Wine-Searcher, the wine is currently available retail in the NYC Metro area for $72 retail, so the price at the restaurant is an amazing deal, and there are so many other wines on the list that are well priced. Wine aficionados like me take note (but please don’t decimate their cellar!!! Leave some for me!!). Excellent service and ambiance. Lucky is the person who gets to enjoy the fine, relaxed dining that they offer there. Casual OK.
