King Umberto had brought the delicious taste of Italy to the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Meacham Avenue since 1976. We offer a welcoming elegant decor with superior service, perfect for any large group or parties of two. In addition to having a warm atmosphere we carry an extensive wine list, that consists of over 350 wines, with years vertical, and is recognized by Wine Spectator Magazine with an award of excellence in 2010. When it comes to our large selection of generous mouth watering appetizers and main courses we know how to please. Famous for the original Fried Capellini® and daily specials prepared by executive chefs Pietro Fuschetto and Giovanni Lombardi. Our menu is classic Italian cuisine with a worldly influence and will surely leave you satisfied, but you can't seem to leave without indulging in our homemade desserts.

Seated right away. Food ,as usual, was excellent. Stuffed Veal Chop is an amazing piece of meat! Service and ambience. Great.

The ambiance is very beautiful as usual but the service was definitely slow and we weren’t checked on as often, to find out if we need anything. Our food took forever to come and it was always hard to find our waiter. The atmosphere was a little loud due to the music plus all of the people talking, so it made it hard to hear the waiter and for him to hear us. I usually have a great experience but the food was not as great this time. Hubby wanted medium well steak and his was well done and bland. My daughter’s salmon and my mom’s chicken were dry. I enjoyed my food though, I had the penne a la vodka with chicken. I hope next time we all have a better experience.

Our go to restaurant for family dinners. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The food is fantastic. The drinks are excellent. 5 stars all across the board.
