Classy atmosphere yet mood was laid back and relaxing. Food & wine superb. Can’t wait to come back here!
Our regular go to spot for dinner in uptown Waterloo. The level of service and the food are always great. Great spot for couples or groups of friends getting together.
Wonderful staff and delicious hand crafted dishes. We enjoyed the crab cakes, chicken, sirloin steak and the cheesecake. Highly recommend all of the above. The dessert was unique and melted in our mouths! Excellent wine list from multiple regions as well!
The owner and waiter were super friendly and made sure to stop in and answer all of our questions. We took our 2 kids out for their graduation and they were treated very well. We had oysters, brie cheese, crab cakes and risotto balls for appetizers. The Steak and lamb were just perfect!
The only down side to this restaurant were the people coming in in tshirts and track pants. We specifically took the kids to an upscale restaurant so they could wear their nice grad outfits and we looked out of place. Maybe fine dining has gone by the wayside...but the food and service was incredible.
The owner Brian was lovely.
Always an exceptional experience - amazing service and food!
That Home made tortellini was absolutely amazing. Made you want to come back for for. The lamb and duck exquisite. Especially loved the polenta when I ask that to be substituted instead of the potatoes.
Always appreciated when an establishment reads my preferences for drinks before I get there.
The duck was amazing.
Nice decor, friendly service. Food is good but at these prices, it should be a lot better. This much money in Toronto would buy something really excellent.
Just amazing place. More than expected. Great dinner in a great place plus fair prices for the service.
I don't know why it took us so long to try this place. We had a wonderful experience celebrating an anniversary here. The oysters are fresh and delicious, the daily feature (Rabbit with squash ravioli) was unreal- the sauce was incredible. Service was great, food and drinks were perfect. A must try!
Always a pleasure to eat at King Street trio. Brian and his group are always very personable and attentive. Chef Ryan provided an excellent meal.
Always enjoy our meals and time at this restaurant - Brian an exceptional host!
Food always served hot & well presented.
We shall & do return regularly.
A favourite of my girlfriend and I. Always great service and great food. Steak is always perfectly done and melt in your mouth. Great selection of fresh oysters and fantastic specials. I would highly recommend the Trio.
Excellent food and service! The ambience is great and the décor highlights details of the 100+ year-old building and incorporates local reclaimed wood. When you come, make sure you try their Vanilla Panna Cotta for dessert... just awesome! Definitely recommend this place!
Always such a pleasant experience at King Street Trio. Fine dining with unpretentious, super friendly service. As a foodie and lover of new experiences, I rarely frequent the same restaurant repeatedly in a year, but I certainly do with King Street Trio. I always trust that I will have an exceptional time. Thank you for making our Mother's Day Dinner great!
Great table service. We go to KST for the food. It is high quality and excellent in taste. Caesar salad is one of the best. A great app place for special celebrations.
I had the zucchini linguini and found it quite bland. Was pretty disappointed. I had to put salt and pepper on it just to give it a bit of flavour.
Found it strange that in the bathroom they have soap dispensers with cheap soap and paper towels. I would think that a place like this should at least have cloth towels and fancier soap. The look of the bathrooms really throws off the ambience of the entire restaurant. The stalls are super ugly.
When the waitress brought us our check, she left those red and white mint candies that they give out at East Side Mario’s and Boston Pizza. In my opinion, these candies are worse than giving nothing. Should have some kind of mint chocolate stick at least.
The service was great ,food was great ,decent portions ,best dessert i ever had
Took my husband for his birthday yesterday, and so glad we chose King Street Trio! The menu was exciting, packed with things I'm dying to try. I wound up having their 6 oz. feature steak, and my husband went with the 8 oz. filet; I'm not sure either of us have had a better steak! You can taste the difference quality ingredients make, particularly in the hands of a skilled chef.
The only thing that would have made it even better was if there had been a local beer on tap!
My wife and I have been coming to Brian's restaurants for over 20 years, always a special treat. From the welcome at the door, to the attentive service, and the great food by Chef Kyle, it was a very wonderful evening. Always a good time, and we are looking forward to the Spring tasting menu later this month. Keep up the great work!
What a wonderful experience we had this evening! From the moment we walked in till the time we left we were treated like royalty. We were there for our anniversary which they congratulated us several times and even added a sparkler for our dessert. The wonderful wait staff member was knowledgeable with wine selection suggestions and food suggestions. She looked after our needs before we had to ask. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. It was our first time there- we will definitely be back!
Another great meal at King Street Trio. Always enjoyable.
Oysters are my favorite here. The new Ontario lamb dish is a winner! The Filo wrapped fried cheesecake rounds it up nicely! My wife and I are regulars here. A little pricey when all is said and done but a real treat for that special occasion.
I am a big fan of this restaurant. However, I must say I was a little disappointed with the food this time. Three of us went, I got the lamb special and the other two got the chicken. Chicken portions were good however, when I saw my plate come out, my first thought was I have to stop for take out on the way home. It was far too small. Very tasty though. NOW, if you are going to serve creme brulee, it needs to be perfect. This creme brulee was like a custard. Too thick and too heavy. I never pass up creme brulee if it's on the menu. I will be back. Service was awesome as usual.
Always a spectacular meal with exceptional staff. Very friendly atmosphere with Brian greeting and seating each guest and then strolling by to see how our meals were.
A favourite local restaurant of mine.
Food was great and service impeccable as always. A favorite of my husband and mine.
The staff was very friendly and attentive. Great presentation of the entrees and the food was delicious! My husband had the rainbow trout and Imthe pork loin. A great way to celebrate a birthday.
Never been disappointed at King Street Trio. Would highly recommend for a nice evening out. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure you experience is the best.
Food was very good. Wait staff was very professional.
My husband and I went out on a date night, and though we enjoyed our meal overall we wouldn't rush back.
The service was almost laughable - owner and server were too attentive in some ways, actually explained to us how a restaurant and ordering worked and read us the feature menus that we had been handed and reviewed in detail (hello - we know how to read and even when we commented we had fully reviewed it they kept going). If they dialed it back a little without hovering it would have been nicer.
Calamari was very disappointing as were most of the sauces with the dishes, lacking flavour. The steak was too chewy, the pickerel wasn't cooked as well as it could have been and the sauce tasted too heavy of bacon fat.
Deserts were average - panacotta was not worth the $.
Though we had a decent night I would consider food average at best. With so many other great options in the region it's unlikely we will return or recommend.
A good place for a date dinner a very lucky plac
Has become our go to resturant for dinner in downtown Waterloo. Food is always great. Staff is friendly and work well as a team to ensure you have a great meal.
Delicious food, quiet atmosphere, and a most attentive wit staff. A gem for Waterloo!
Never disappoint, great service and the food is superb
Food here is done very well and precisely - Easily the best mac n' cheese I've ever had (part of the King Crab Platter). While most mac n' cheese tends to be on the heavier and greasier side, King Street's take is delicious bite after bite until there is regrettably none left. My partner ordered the rib eye which was executed perfectly, another wonderful entree. Our plates were clean. Service was efficient and food comes out pretty quickly (great for us). I love my dessert (filo pastry cheesecake) which has a wonderful texture and just a touch of sweetness.
Don't judge this place by it's exterior! It does not look great from the street but inside it goes upscale very quickly. Well laid out comfortable, great service and excellent top end food.
Came on a Monday which provided 25% off you food bill just because! The place was not only packed but the service was still super attentive and fun. All the serving staff had smiles on their faces. Got to sit directly beside the kitchen and see the chefs work which i think was the best seats in the house. The presentation on the plates made them almost too pretty to eat. I've come before for dinner here with family evenings and they never disappoint. Definitely going to go enjoy another evening out at King Street Trio in the near future.
Ordered 2 entrees only with little delay. Wrong wine brought to table. Then waited over 30 minutes for food to arrive. Chicken dinner was decent; seafood was lacklustre. Carb was a piece of French bread with a pesto spread; squid was rubbery. Server was nice enough but the kitchen let her down. The 25% off Monday discount might make it worth an overall Fair.
Being greeted both upon arrival and departure by the owner was most impressive. The service was outstanding and the food was very good.
First their appetizers escargot fricasse, bakes apple brie were simply wonderful. Tried their ossobucco, porkloin and they were delicious and a good size portion. Key lime pie meringue at its best!
