Failed to realize that this is just a bar in the Hilton hotel. Had searched for restaurants in Old Town but guess I didn't read it thoroughly enough. Not in the historic part of old town. Spent most of the time trying to keep our plates on the table as the wait staff kept wanting to clear whether we were done or not. They weren't busy so not sure why the rush and we certainly were not lingering as it's just a hotel lobby bar. Food was OK but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're staying at the Hilton and just don't want to venture out.
The restaurant is connected to the Hilton Hotel. So the atmosphere is that of a hotel bar and dining spot. The food was very good. I had a Bistro steak and my wife had the crap pot pie. Both of the foods as well as the salad were tasty. It is not a restaurant I would go out of my way for but if you are near by and need a place to sit, relax and eat. This will work.
The service was awful. I had to remind the waiter we were waiting on every little thing. I don’t understand why when there was only one other party in the whole restaurant.
Absolutely miserable experience. I get it that it is a hotel bar/resturaunte and everything, but even with a reservation our table wasn't ready despite not having any costumers, brunch menu ends way to early, the service was extremely slow, and the food was not good.
Went for brunch and wasn't disappointed. It was not overly packed and the service was good. There was food options there for the kids as well and the price point was really good based on what they had. I will definitely be back.
The calimari were tender but the breading was very doughy.
Nice location but not much parking. Food was great and reasonably priced, but the service was a bit slow even the restaurant didn't seem too busy.
It was not what we expected.
The actual place didn’t look like the pictures that were shown on open table. Food was good, service was good in some cases and lacking in other areas. What they did wrong, they made up for it in other areas. For causal dinning, it would be ok, for any special dinning, not the place. Kind of a bar and a place to eat all mixed up together.
It was a good find thanks to restaurant week advertising
Service and food was great, but it was frustrating that I didn't receive my points from Open Table. I chose the restaurant and time slot because of the 1,000 point bonus. Somehow I didn't get checked in properly, and my points never did show up. After I called the restaurant, the manager came up with a solution; however, I got 100 points in my account instead of the 1,000. Emailed Open Table and they suggested I wait a week to see if it gets credited. I'm thinking that's unlikely.
Just chose this at random while in town. The restaurant is in THe Hilton and off the hallway in the hotel where there is also common area and a Starbucks. That being said the food and service was good. Ambience lacked.
Good food, attractive presentation. Ambiance so-so, service unremarkable for the price.
Everything we ordered at our table was great. My wife had some kind of seafood pot pie which she said was delicious. I don't eat seafood, but she loves it. I had the fish and chips. Fish is different than seafood, I know what you're thinking. It was great, I had to ask for the malt vinegar, but when I did the waitress brought it quickly. Our friends had the Rueben sandwich a flatbread pizza and a cobb salad. The only complaint was that the menu listed romaine lettuce in the Cobb salad and it was a mix of greens without any romaine.
My wife and I came here for the first time on a Thursday night for her birthday. We had our choice of seating which was a quiet table in the corner. There were maybe two other couples and some friends in the restaurant. Our server was Melissa and she was very attentive in a good way. Not over bearing and very friendly.
The food was amazing! We started with the beer cheese fondue. It was awesome. For dinner my wife had the fish and chips which she raved about. Very fresh and filling. I had the bruh mac and cheese. It was very filling and the portion was great. I don't do the extra fancy.
We also had a drink each and all together with our appetizer and dinner it came to like 60 bucks which we thought was extremely reasonable considering the location and portions.
I could see how parking could be weird since its in the bottom of a hotel, but at the same time since its at the top of king street it wasn't a big deal trying to find something.
We will def be back!
The service wasn't very good... Ordered a bottle of wine and it came out with a glass that was fresh out of the dishwasher and was still soaking wet and still had lipstick marks all over the rim. I mentioned this to the service and she continued corking the wine and left the open bottle on the table. She brought back a new glass and sat it there.... No tasting, and walked away.
So, it's safe to say that the server needs to learn how to properly serve a bottle of wine!
She walked away and we still wanted to order appetizers, but we had to wait for her to come back. All the while she was just standing at the bar, looking around, doing nothing.
At least the food was good... We really liked everything we ordered.
But we definitely didn't appreciate the bad service.
Ribeye was great, salmon was great, Bistro steak was overcooked. Sides were very good.
Overall the experience was good. It did take a while for server to clear our table. Otherwise decent experience for everyday dining.
This restaurant is awful! First, the front desk stated the parking is validated since the restaurant is inside the hotel. Then, the manager said it was not. The calamari were sagging in the batter and the wings were just heated up with some buffalo sauce on top of them. Overall, DON'T GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!!!!
It was perfect for a friend catch up. I had been out of town for 3 months. We had a quiet corner to reconnect. Loved it!
Ricardo served us and he was so attentive and professional. Wonderful experience!
This place was great, little hard to find as we did not know it was in the hotel but the waitress was amazing and the food was very good. Very much worth the price.
The food was just ok, but the service made up for everything. The staff was very attentive and made us feel like we were very special customers. Regardless of the food, the service made our celebration wonderful!
Our server Melissa was outstanding!! My friend and I stayed at your restaurant talking, eating and drinking wine for 3 hours and Melissa was very attentive the whole time we were there!!
Hotel restaurant with good bar and wine selection. Good for groups. The service was great.
Four of us went here for what we thought would be brunch at 1pm on a Sunday. The restaurant is in a hotel, and we were the only people there. We were handed lunch menus, but we asked if they could do eggs benedict. The chef agreed, but everything was lackluster. Also, seeing that we were the only ones there you would think we would have amazing service, but the waiter was no where to be found and split the check wrong once we did find him. The one person who had the fried chicken and mashed potatoes was happy. Too many good restaurants in Old Town to bother with this.
I was impressed with the food, but did not realize that the restaurant was inside of the Hilton.
Nice quite place within the Hilton Hotel Alexandria. Great happy hour and good food for enjoying conversation.
In the Hilton hotel
Just what we needed. Arrived in Old Towne for NYC on Friday ,no one wanted a big meal this spot was great. 2blocksfrom our hotel in the hilton. Varied menu had something for all. Love the hot pretzel starter.
I was a bit weary about the food since hotel restaurants can be hit or miss. This one was a hit. All orders were good. Waitresses were busy but service was still very good
This place is located outside of the lobby of the Hilton Hotel. Very open environment, kind of place where you are not sure where the lobby ends and the tavern begins. Tavern is kind of not an accurate name for this setting. Food was good tavern food. I had a burger with added beef brisket on top. Very tasty. My brother had fish and chips. Service was good and attentive. large selection of beers, but only a few on tap.
King Street Tavern was the perfect place to have an adult family dinner for an early Christmas dinner get together . The waitress was outstanding, the food was REALLY good. A little pricey for the amount of food, but certainly a place to go back to.
It is stupid to ask for more words when i have said all that I need to say, it just turns me off doing the review in the future! We had a very pleasant meal.
A rainy night encouraged me to stay in the hotel for dinner and this restaurant receives some rather good reviews. I explained to my server that I was trying to choose between the macaroni and cheese with crab add on, or the Maryland crab pot pie. He encouraged me to go with the pot pie since it came with a salad. Unfortunately, the salad was the best part of the meal (and, it was actually quite good). The pot pie tasted mostly of crust and even with the crust removed the filling was quite bland. I suspect my experience was more a faulty food choice than restaurant choice, and I will be more careful on future rainy nights when other Alexandria restaurants are not easily accessible.
This was a verygood dining experience the wait staff and the manager we're very attentive the food was excellent. Presentation was classy
Food was just ok nothing special. I had ordered the fried chicken dinner and the chicken breast was totally over cooked and dried out.
I think this restaurant has a great bar going for it and that's exactly what the food is - bar food. We ordered the wings which were fatty and smothered in bbq sauce. Not good. We shared a cobb salad. It was not the freshest of ingredients. Wish I good say we enjoyed, but we did not. Will not return.
Excellent server. Nice atmosphere. Ok pub food.
