King Street Social Kitchen & Bar - Hyatt Regency Toronto Ratings and Reviews
Great Value/Good Food We purchased a meal for two through Groupon. The menu selection was good, the food was nicely presented and delicious. There was a glass of wine included in the dinner special. Our server was attentive and professional. It was a return visit and a great way to end our theater outing. This is great value for the money but also really good food. It is within walking distance to Royal Alex. Will be sure to return.
This was a disappoint experience.
We sent back the calamari because it was burnt
the main course was overcooked as well.
They didn't have the dessert we ordered.
The server did his best to best, however service was slow because he was the only one working
Definitely not worth the money even as a Groupon Deal
The Beet Salad was simply amazing as was the Rainbow Trout. It was cooked to perfection. My husband had the Calamari which melted in his mouth and he also absolutely loved the steak. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and explained the menu items to us.
The wait staff was kind and attentive as was the host - they were the best part and without them, this review would be a 1 star. Unfortunately the quality of the meal was just "meh" and no where worth the cost of the prix fix charged. Steaks were under cooked and overly doused with "sauce" to minimize the lack of quality. The "professionally paired wine" was horrible -
perhaps from a bottle that had been kept open too long. Not surprising as this place didn't have any people in it, so who knows how long it had been on the shelf open! Desserts were sub par and funny enough, they had "run out" of 2 of the 3 options - on a Saturday night and we were the ONLY ones in the restaurant for a 7pm reservation. We came on a promotion offer presumably trying to convert guests into advocates and repeat customers. Given our experience, we can neither recommend or will we return. This is unfortunate because the location is great, the restaurant has a decent atmosphere and decor and the wait staff did their best to make up for what the kitchen lacks. We honestly wish we could get our money back.
First of all, the restaurant is under the ground, so thumbs down for sure. Secondly, we were the only table in the restaurant on a Saturday evening, in the middle of summer! And that pretty much tells you everything! The only reason we went there was because I had a Groupon to redeem and unfortunately the restaurant refused to honor the face value. Very disappointing at service! I made reservation through Open Table and staff couldn't find us. We had to stand outside when nobody was in the restaurant. They could've let us sit down first!!! The food is tasty but pricey. It's in the hotel, so you are not only paying for food, but also paying for the hotel itself. I will never come back, nor do I recommend this place to anyone. There are so many restaurants in Toronto are way better than this one. The bill I paid is good enough to have a fabulous meal at Canoe, with a fantastic view.
We reserved a table for 9 on Fathers Day, age range 2-67. The brunch had something for everyone and no one left with an empty stomach. Our waiter was very attentive and brought us 2 sippy cups when he heard we forgot ours. Endless juice and coffe and tgw omlet bar was awesome!!! Highly recommend for young and old alike
We had reservations for 6:30 pm. and were running late. I called the restaurant and they were pleasant enough and said no problem. We arrived at about 7:00 and informed our waiter that we had show tickets for 8:00 pm. He took our order and brought our drinks in short time. The Bread was warm and was great with butter. The apps arrived very quickly and were very good. I had the strawberry and spinach salad asked to replace the goat cheese with feta and there was no problem at all. the apps were great. The waiter checked on us often and made sure the mains were ready as soon as we finished our apps. Unfortunately this is where the problem was; the mains were slightly overcooked for me and too overcooked for my lady. My steak was more on the medium/well than on a medium (I ate it) otherwise it tasted good. My lady's fish was too over cooked that she sent it back. They were very quick with the replacement and did not fuss at all; as a matter of fact, the chef came out to see us and apologized for the overcooked food. He even gave us some popcorn for the show (smart food). We made it to the show with time to spare.
Great brunch with the family ( 6 of us)..before Sunday matinee theatre. Locations is so convenient, great ambience and service couldn't have been better with 1 child eats free and free breakfast smoothie shooters (how cute!). Have had dinner here too pre theatre and excellent menu and quality. BTW our server was jsut so nice, friendly and accommodating, plus we were welcomed into the restaurant by various staff as we entered....a good one!
Food took over an hour to arrive. Another large party was seated after us and got mains plus dessert before we got our order. Food was cold when it arrived. One person didn't have food for over 15mjn after the rest of the TABLE received their main course. Horribly slow inattentive service.
Was there for Christmas Eve. Had an early dinner so restaurant was not full but was starting to fill up by the time we finished dinner (7:00 p.m.). Lovely atmosphere, attentive wait staff without being overbearing. Excellent food and service. Had the prime rib which was cooked to perfection and as the waiter pointed out - did not need a steak knife!
We enjoyed each of the three courses 100%. We have eaten at many restaurants and the meal was made to perfection and excelled in all aspects including the wonderful service - by Asiam our waiter. We complimented the food - thereafter the chef came out to speak to us -which was a nice touch. Would definitely return and highly recommend.
Service was slow. We were given glasses but never did get water with our meal. It was difficult to get the attention of service staff. Poinsettias on the tables were half dead. Food was good and we were asked if it was to our liking when delivered but there was no follow up. The first guests of our group were not offered coffee and menus for quite a while.
This is the only restaurant I have been to in a long time where you can have a comfortable conversation.
Most restaurants in play loud music which makes conversation impossible. The purpose of our meal was to get together with friends and catch up on news, the food was delicious and well presented, our server was excellent and personable. We were able to talk and hear each other in a nice atmosphere with good food.
This was our first visit and we will definitely return.
Saturday evening in the busy district, and the restaurant is absolutely empty - it says something, right?
Nice place, mediocre (but not poor) service, and not bad kitchen, but it was SO overpriced that the value of the dinner was really low.
Another moment: online menu and real one are pretty much different, it affects expectations.
This was by far one of my worst restaurant experiences. I booked this restaurant for Summerlicious as a birthday celebration for a group of 9 people. The steaks were all overcooked and the "fresh" desserts were still frozen in the middle. The waiter was unattentive and rarely in the room. The basement restaurant only had 3 other tables, and was not busy whatsoever. Of course we were all charged an automatic 15% gratuity for the worst service. We paid $48 per person plus $11 drinks, with tax and automatic gratuity on top of everything. I expected better from a downtown Toronto Hyatt restaurant. Overall, service was horrible, the food was passable, and we were overcharged.
