King Street Social Kitchen & Bar - Hyatt Regency Toronto
My starter salad I had requested no olives but it came with olives. I ordered the stuffed chicken. It was extremely dry and tough. The sweet pototoe was dry, the vegetables had a strange taste. The trio creme brulee in taste was good but the sugar on top, which is supposed to be hard, was soft.
It was tasty, service was a tad slow but very courteous and friendly. Noise level was perfect
Our waitress was working pretty hard but they seemed short staffed. There was a few staff just hanging around while we waited for drinks.
A good and quiet enough place to hang out with friends. We tried the summerlicious lunch menu. Food was delicious! Satisfying portion for lunch. Service was steady paces which was fine when you’re charting with friends.
Food was good. The trout was the best. Service was poor. There was only 1 server. But only 5 tables. He was very slow. I'd go back but I'd make sure I have alot of time in case I got him again
Absolutely enjoyed my birthday here with my partner! From start to finish, they made the experience special. They noted the special occasion and put a candle in my dessert and wrote "Happy Birthday" in chocolate. The food was really fresh. with unique flavors blended within each dish. The main had a wide assortment of my favorites, including steak, shrimp, tomato, and sweet potato. The starter of soup was cream-based but light at the same time due to the asparagus. The crème brûlée option also came with three flavors!
Thank you so much!
We loved our experience at King Street Social. The food was delicious and the service was great. We had a groupon voucher which made the value incredible.
Good clean place to go with friends or that special friend and have a really good time. The service is excellent and so is the food. I've been twice and I will return again and again. Great value for your money
The experience was just ok. Nothing too exciting. Food was good. Service was good.
Great place for date night. Good food, good service, and comfy booths! :)
I recently visited as I bought a Groupon. The value was excellent and the food was fantastic. Service received from Sabina was friendly, and welcoming. Our server Tannaz I believe needs to focus a bit more on the needs of the guest. We made requests and it appears that she is quite distracted in her service (there were only 4 tables with guests). For example, we asked for dessert, and it was brought without utensils to eat it with. Then when we asked for a small fork or spoon, she brought a very large soup spoon. WE sat for about 10 minutes with our desserts and could not eat it.
Then when we asked for our bill, there was a small charge (not an issue) but it was not explained to us. When I prompted for an explanation, we were told that "this happens a lot, this is the tax as the Groupon doesn't cover the tax". Again not an issue to pay extra, but as a server if I know this is a frequent question, I would explain this when "dropping" the bill on the table.
Apart from Tannaz's service, the dinner was enjoyable and i would return again for another meal.
Great place and great food.
It was great service. The breads for the starter were old and dry. All tables were from Groupon and not many tables even though it was on Saturday evening. The food was overall ok. The steak itself was delicious.
If you go with Groupon voucher, it is worthiest.
The food was incredible, kudos to the chefs. The restaurant had a nice ambience for Valentines day with a live pianist for entertainment.
The service however was what I would have expected at a chain restaurant. My fiance's romantic toast with our glasses in mid air was interrupted by the server pushing items under our hands, a wait of 10 more seconds could have avoided that. We finished our complimentary champagne and were never brought a drink menu or asked if we want another drink, although our conversation was interrupted several more times to ask if we wanted our waters topped up.
The night ended off with the host giving us a beautiful rose and wishing us a lovely evening which was a very nice touch.
Very nice place, quiet and elegant
Worst experience ever. We booked the table 1 week ahead for the Winterlicious and when we got there no one greeted us and we had to go look for the staff. When we sat down there was only 3 tables occupied and 3 servers, 1 server gave us the menu and never returned to our table. 1 poured us water and also never came back to ask if we wanted to order any drink. We signal to these servers and they kept ignoring us, we weren't the only ones waiting. After 30 minutes later, still no one came to take our order and the table next to us made a complaint about their waiting time. We asked what was going on and one of the servers told us it would take another hour to order our food. Ridiculous! Why didn't they simply tell us from the beginning. Why didn't they have enough staff to serve when they knew ahead of time that people are coming? This isn't a small place either, poor management. Worst customers service ever! We don't know how the food was because we left. Never coming back there again. Not recommended for anyone, this place should shut down if they can't run it properly. We wasted our time travelling there during a snowstorm just to be ignored.
It's a little inconvenient to find the door, but food and service worth every penny you spend here. Great winterlicious 2019 lunch, I'll bring my friends here more often!
Went here for Winterlicious 2019 with a couple of coworkers, and the food was exceptional. The appetizer salad with shrimp was fantastic, but the entree lobster and grilled cheese sandwich stole the show. Our waiter was very kind and courteous; great service overall.
The lobster sandwich (one of the main courses on the winterlicious menu) was disappointing. The fruit salad with sherbet was so so, but The prawn salad was good.
Superior table side service with consistently delicious food that will leave you satisfied.
Very attentive service- steak as ordered medium rare- Quiet atmosphere so able to have a conversation which is rare in Toronto restaurants
It took over an hour to get our appetizers and there were only 6 tables occupied in the restaurant. We had even told them we had a play to go see.
We admittedly had a groupon for this and it was in no way worth the $80 we paid or the $160 it was valued at. Bread rolls were gross, wine wasn’t good which just set it off to a bad start. Dinner was ok. Desert was terrible. Cream Brulé had no brulé and I’m pretty sure the cake in a hospital caffeteria would be better.
The restaurant confirmed my 10pm reservation using the open table app. The restaurant also closed at 10pm. Lol. My frustration when I arrived was something else.
Amazing food, great service, and an easy place for vegetarians & meat lovers alike.
The food was great. We had Steak and shrimp (Land and Sea ...) with wine, soup and dessert. Amanda was very professional, smiling and attentive. Unfortunately I will take my money elsewhere next time because the other host and servers in the restaurant did not bother at all. Too bad
Our server on Thursday Aug 9 was absolutely magnificent
We got 3 small shrimps opposite Instead of advertised giant prawn. Steak seemed to be smaller than 6 oz. veggies are also very small in portion. Bread becoming cheaper. They used to serve 3 different artisan bread. I have been coming to this restaurant for the past 3 years but I think it’s not worth to buy the promo from Wagjag. Also Red wine tastes no good anymore.
we enjoyed the set prix menu at the downtown restaurant and enjoyed our experience starting when we walked in and were greeted by the hostess. The service was prompt and the food was perfectly cooked. My husband's steak was a true rare and my butternut squash soup was seasoned beautifully with crème fraiche and a walnut crouton. We also enjoyed the pumpkin crème brule with fresh berries on top. Thank you to our servers Ronnie and Allen who were attentive, friendly and professional. Chef Kris came out to say hello and we enjoyed the entire dining experience. This review is also on trip advisor where I am a regular contributor.
Went to this restaurant during Summerlicious with four people. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The vegetarian spaghetti bolognese was delicious, as was the butternut squash soup, and the carrot cake was not too sweet and was to die for! would highly recommend
We arrived for our Summerlicious dinner and asked to be seated upstairs in the bar area (the restaurant is downstairs). We had EXCEPTIONAL service from Eric our bartender. He made our anniversary dinner very special - and the food was fabulous!
This was for Summerlicious for business. The food took a long time but the servers were attentive right after the food came. The dessert was the worse. It was like grocery bought cake that was frozen and defrosted then served with some jam on the side. My sandwich was lobster but I felt like it was artificial crab meat.
The food was amazing. I was so full when I left. Our waiter Azim on spot with his recommendations and his service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all my friends and I will be visiting soon.
I would just like to conclude my experience by informing management how amazing our server was. Raj is an amazing people person with an outgoing personality, he made our experience warm and welcoming and ensured we had the best experience possible.
He has a passion for what he does and it's clearly visible. We will definitely be back!!!
Way to go Raj!!!
The three women who attended July 10, at 12:30pm who all ordered the same meal( Grilled cheese Lobster Sandwich) !!
Thank you :)
Service was good, but food was sub-par.
Buns served at start of meal tasted at least 2 days old; creme brûlée at end of meal didn't have a hard crust on top - tasted like it came out of the fridge.
Pasta dish and steak were fine but not great. Equivalent to East Side Marios.
Great food and great services. The servers are very pleasant and welcoming.
Was there few years ago. Meal and service were excellent. Unfortunately, this time the food was not at par as before, seafood was not fresh, and service was slow. Restaurant was very noisy.. there was a birthday party in the restaurant... way too noisy. The party should have been in a separate room, and not in the same room as the restaurant guests. Was not a good experience this time. Don't think I'll be going back soon.
The restaurant was quiet and nice than I expected. The staff were very friendly, the meal on amazing. It was a great experience and I would go back.
The restaurant aaa empty and the waiter was very rude. He took long to service us and when he did it was Attitude. The waiter also was rude when requesting a change in meal ( we were allergic to olives). We were told the dining room was open til 12 but was pushed out at 11
We had dinner here for our Anniversary. The restaurant was very quiet with very few clients (only a couple of tables on a Friday night at 7:00). So, I hope they manage to stay in business. Service was great - very attentive. Food was amazing. We had the 3-course dinner. I had acorn squash soup, pasta & creme brule. Hubbie had salad, steak/seafood and pear tostata. Portions were good, but we managed to eat almost everything because it was soooo tasty. We'll definitely return. Chef popped by our table for a chat, adding to our experience.
