Fabulous setting, delicious food. Very consistent with prior visits.
Awesome food and decor... pricey but worth it for a special dinner
I can describe it as a high end dinner/place at a very reasonable price
Excellent food and wine, great service and ambience. Just a lovely experience.
Took my daughter and future son-in-law there for their birthday dinners. It was perfect. They loved it!
Always worth the drive out there. Outstanding fresh food. So many things made from scratch.
I HAVE BEEN HERE 4 TIMES OVER THE YEARS BRINGING MY SON TO U of O...the best food, atmosphere and service I have ever had!! Hands down!!!!
Nice. Clean. Food was good. There was flys that were bothersome during lunch inside the the building. We Wish there were tables with their view from inside because it was cold outside. Service was excellent.
We suggested wine-tasting and a late outdoor lunch here for friends from out of state and from out of country. I would say that the experience was uneven. We reserved on-line and asked for an outdoor table. When we arrived, hostess said that they do not take reservations for the patio, it was only first come, first served, and that it would be a 45 minute wait. We said we would wait, since eating out of doors on a lovely September afternoon was our goal. Surprisingly, less than ten minutes later we were seated outdoors. Were the initial comments just meant to encourage us to take one of the many open indoor tables?
Once seated we had excellent friendly service from all members of the wait and wine staff throughout the meal.
We ordered the cheese platter and charcuterie choices for starters and several in the group ordered the French onion soup. Most of the cheeses were from California. I would have expected both some Oregon cheeses and imported ones. Most of the house-made charcuterie was very good, but the fois gras torchon was tiny, maybe a tablespoon in total, and there was an extra charge for that item. All who had the soup loved it. And the various house-baked breads were to die for.
Nearly everyone in our six person group were disappointed with their entree’s. For $21 my plate consisted of three medium size sautéed scallops with a couple tablespoons of a barley vegetable mixture. The scallops had that slightly ammonia taste that meant they weren’t fresh, and should not have been served. The $17 hamburger comes with an enormous bun that was so dry it could not be compressed in order to bite into it. The person discarded the bun and just ate the patty and the curry-seasoned fries. The King salmon entrees were very small thin pieces of salmon maybe 3 or 4 ounces.
And yes, we were battling wasps most of the time. I know they are a seasonal nuisance, but there are ways to mitigate them.
So, go for the wine, the view and the charcuterie. All else, meh.
This has been one of our favorite venues for years... always a special occasion because it is very spendy. Although we had registered w/ Open Table that we wanted to be seated outside, and that it was our anniversary, the woman who greeted us seemed not to have that information. The view was lovely as always. However, even at 6pm, the yellow jackets were untenable and there were no wasp traps around, so we had to go inside. Unfortunately the menu shows very little of its original panache of 20 years ago... little has changed. The charcuterie board was very good. The French Onion soup seemed to be "deconstructed" w/ a bowl of the soup, and a piece of toast balanced on the rim. The burrata salad was "swimming" in way too much balsamic, it was in a bowl w/ no liner to put my fork, and the fried green tomato was a non sequitur. The foie gras that accompanied the steak had "char" marks on it which added an unpleasant bitterness. The steak and the lamb were cooked very well. The dessert labeled "German Chocolate" was again "deconstructed" and was more reminiscent of an almond joy bar... very unsatisfying. Meanwhile the table next to us was served by a young bearded man who spent far too much time talking very loudly with the guests at that table... very loudly.. impinging on our dining experience, and not paying attention to his other table.
Excellent service and food! The place is in a beautiful setting, and everyone was very kind. Our salads were fantastic along with our entrees.
Sunday brunch on the patio was a perfect gift for my out of town guest’s birthday. We enjoyed the view, shared delicious food and paired it with decadent wine flights. I could not have chosen better.
We enjoyed a delicious meal in an extraordinarily beautiful setting. The oysters were the best we've ever had. A wonderful place to take special visitors and out of town guests. Don't miss the outdoor dining, if the weather is favorable.
Wonderful spot to relax and take in the spectacular views! The food was delicious and the building and grounds are beautiful!! It was worth the drive, for sure!
Worth the drive delectable menu wonderful choice of wine flights incredible scenery. It was a beautiful day to eat on the patio
Good food, great ambiance, slow service with some requests forgotten.
Great food and service. Yellow jackets were a pain, though. It was my husband's birthday but that was not acknowledged.
The tour program was very instructive and helpful, to enjoy more King Estate winery.
Excellent service. Amazing Salmon Board, a feature of the day. Wonderful Seafood Stew, Salmon Eggs Benedict, Truffle Fries & Cheeseburger.
Pinot Noir was very nice, too!
Worth the drive from Eugene!
Came here for brunch on our anniversary. Just so beautiful, great food and great ambiance
Our previous experience with King Estate Restaurant was very disappointing, however, this experience was exceptional from the start. Our servers could not have been any more attentive and informative and the food and wine was outstanding. Can't wait to go back! : - )
Appetizers and entrees were pretty average for the price. Wine is ok. Atmosphere is excellent- definitely a romantic place to go. The couple near us got engaged earlier in the vineyard. Dessert was the real winner and I would rate that a 5! We had cookie with semi freddo and fruit and it was light and absolutely divine. Once we got seated - service was excellent.
Food and Service were excellent and the setting for the winery is ideal.
Awesome place, beautiful view, great wine, terrific food. Love it that I could book the reservation online. Thanks!
Overall it was a lovely evening. Celebrated two anniversaries. We all had the filet and they were just ok, not great. Service was good, atmosphere was excellent.
There are few outdoor dining areas as nice as King Estates, the food is simple yet diverse, lots of local stuff, if you count Cow Girl as local (we do.) And the inside is elegant! Of course the wine is a nice diversion...they have a huge and interesting selection, and I hear many choices are unique to the location. I love the "obscure whites" with the cheese plate...of and some of the best bread around...wish they would toast it as an option.
Outstanding food. Sebastian was an excellent server.
The view was amazing. Outdoor seating was great and inside was nice too. Wine is lovely and wait staff was great. Went with friends and we all truly enjoyed our visit.
This was probably the least satisfying experience I have had at King Estate. The food was pretty good, although the English Muffin with my Eggs Benedict was unusually dry and tasteless. Our waiter, Riley, was simply unattentive. Maybe he and the others were too busy, but at one point all of our water glasses were empty and no one came over to refill until we asked. Several members of our party were very dissatisfied with the service. We were left feeling neglected and overlooked. Plus there were so many yellowjackets! They would not leave us alone! A simple $12 device from Eugene hardware could take care of this problem.
We had a great lunch at King Estates. The venue is beautiful. We did a little wine tasting before our meal. The food was fresh and well prepared. The servers were attentive and helpful. There were vegan/vegetarian options. A very nice experience.
Beautiful view, wonderful food, and amazing staff!
Wonderful venue which houses a good but rather overpriced restaurant. Worth a visit for the ambiance but not for the food. Service very good
Food and service were outstanding.... what was really bad were the numerous flies flying around our heads and food...this was a serious distraction.
The menu was ok, but not very inspiring. There is so much good produce, etc. this time of year, seems a shame not to focus on interesting vegetables and combinations...
The King Estate experience has ticked up in the past several months. We regularly make the drive for special occasions and are never disappointed. Our last brunch was, as expected, excellent. It is a very special location, a neat bit or what has become Oregon history, and a reliable, high quality place to enjoy an an extraordinary combination of ambiance, scenery, and food. Our service people were absolutely first rate. It is always a treat!
Food was very good. Service was very good. Atmosphere is wonderful.
Prices of wine and food are Big City level and should be more in line for the area.
Ordered a medium lamb dinner and got one cooked rare.
overall food is very mediocre; pasta primavera down right awful. Companion said the “cheeseburger” was good though. Patio & view is lovely.
Go for the view but not the food.
Beautiful view, exceptional food, worth the drive definitely.
Delicious food, impeccable service, fabulous wines.
