We had a beautiful anniversary dinner at King Estate. It started with complimentary champagne which was so lovely. The amuse bouche was simple but delicious. The crab cakes with the aioli were incredible as an appetizer. My filet was perfectly cooked and my husband's duck melted in his mouth. The potato loaf was great too. It was too bad we were too full for dessert! Pear cider was great. Thanks to our servers who were attentive but not pushy and helpful about menu and drinks. We'll be back.
We came to celebrate my dissertation defense, and it was everything we hoped it’d be. Great wine (recommend the 25th anniversary sparkling!), intimate dining, and truffled lentils that were excellent. Worth any special occasion, or just a nice dinner!
One of our summertime favorites! If you go at 5pm or the "right time" you can sit outside and view the beautiful valley. It's like being in a different county. Food is presented beautifully and so good!
We have been there for lunch and Brunch. The food is very good. And of course the wine, is wonderful. I enjoy the bubbly options.
We really enjoyed our meal. The restaurant was the quietest we have ever seen it, but most people chose to sit outside on the patio. Food was well done and tasty. The filet was extremely tender and the best I've had in a long time. Our wine choices were also very good. We always enjoy the view at King Estates as well as the drive out from the city of Eugene.
King Estate is an amazing venue for fabulous wine, great local food and one of the most amazing views in the area. Classic European here in Oregon!
Fantastic evening with friends on the terrace. 6:30 reservations and were seated at 7, but entertained ourselves with wine tasting. The service staff was kind but busy and we didn’t have a consistent server. The amazing thing, even without a consistent server the service was great. The apple hard cider was a hit with us. What a beautiful gem this is! We’ll be back.
This was the high point of our first trip to Eugene. The King Estates experience alone, might have been worth the drive over from Bend.
Great view and great food! Expensive but worth it.
My wife and I enjoyed a lovely evening of wine tasting and dinner. Everyone at the restaurant was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating with tremendous views of the vineyards and the valley. Dress is casual and the ambience is calm and laid back. Entrees average about $35. We had a great experience here!
It was well worth getting off the highway for 15 miles each way for the meal and the wine...loved my Pinot flight!
Had a great time with family enjoying a wine tasting and then a wonderful meal with more wine.
Great as always.
For a Saturday night service was lackadaisical and slow. Waitstaff often buzzed away before we could ask for something (don't know what the rush was as it wasn't that busy). Experience was a little disappointing as we've been here before and it was much better.
Lovely environs, quiet with a comfortable ambiance. The service was admirable, avoided being overly attentive but met our desires. My sole complaint was that the duck breast I ordered rare on the waiter's recommendation was virtually raw and very tough and I should have sent it back, but didn't. All the other dishes ordered for 4 persons were outstanding and the wine, a pinot noir, was lovely. It was my husband's 70th birthday and they respected our request not to make a spectacle of it, but served him a very inventively made piece of carrot cake gratis, and a soft happy birthday.
My husband and I really enjoyed our trip to the King Estate Restaurant. The wait staff was excellent and the food was delicious. The wine was uber good.
Everything was GREAT!
We had family in from California-Napa area. They committed they had been to many winery tasting and dinners and this was the very best. The meals and service was exceptional. We will be back soon.
Everything was great, but the prices were quite high.
Beautiful scenery and great food. Service was good but a bit slow.
For months, I had been planning a nice dinner to celebrate my son's graduation from Oregon Law School, with most of us traveling from the Midwest. I was mostly happy that I chose King Estate--the view is beautiful, the food was good, the wine excellent. My only complaint was our waiter. His name was Max and he was stoic to the point of nearly bringing down our group every time he came to the table. He never smiled, even when we tried to draw him out, learning that he too was from the Midwest. In fact, that seemed to make him even grouchier. Fortunately, he didn't check on our table very often!
A fantastic view of the vineyards from the outdoor dinning area. Great staff!!! Food was delicious. Thanks E&e
Mediocre food in a place that fancies itself luxurious. Service indifferent. No way should a 3 course dinner in a half full dining room take nearly 3 hours. 40 minutes between finishing apps and getting entrees. Then servers “auctioned” the entrees...”who has the duck...”. Never got an itemized bill, just a credit card slip. Been there several times and each turns out to be a disappointment.
Our visit was for Mother's Day brunch. We were on time for our reservation, but still had a 15 minute wait for our table. The host and wait staff were excellent, attentive and accomodating.
The meal was a family style special menu for the occasion. I'm a bit surprised at the combination of fare; none of the items seemed to "go together".
The salmon eggs benedict was wonderful, but the remainder not so much. The pork belly with mashed potatoes was cold, and the pork belly was 95% fat. Barely an ounce of meat for two people. The "crab cakes" were the size of smashed golf balls, and also cold.
That being said, the ambiance and staff carried the day. King Estates has exemplary wine, and maybe if they concentrated on the preparation and presentation of thier food, they could be an exemplary restaurant as well.
Good atmosphere, Top notch service (Especially from Gentleman running the tour/wine tasting) Food drastically needs work.
The food was very good, in fact one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! The place is beautiful! My only complaint was the service. They forgot to bring us a bread basket twice, forgot our steak knife- had to wait a bit for them to realize we didn’t have one then go get it, and Didn’t refill our waters until we flagged someone down to do it. This would be okay at most restaurants, but when your spending $150 for dinner I expect a higher level of service which didn’t occur.
Food was great, service terrible. This is the second time I have had a “love/hate” experience at King. Last time I ate there, the waiter was so in a hurry to get us out of there that he actually reached for my plate while I was still eating a fork full of food. This recent visit was another bizarre adventure... my friend, a young pregnant mother with her 2 year old, waited an hour and a half for a burger ! The waiter kept trying to make us feel better by telling us repeatedly, some sob story about why it was taking so long. He forgot several items, and then tried to make it all nice by not charging us for the burger.
Great view of the winery and surrounding hills. We would have preferred outdoor seating, but the weather did not co-operate that day. All in all a very pleasant afternoon.
Excellent food and friendly service. Enjoyed the wine flights
We were lucky to have a spectacular day allowing us to dine on the patio with it’s beautiful view. Charcuterie board was excellent along with the beet salad! We’ll be back.
We were celebrating our anniversary and this was the perfect spot. The charcuterie tray was tasty and filling so we ordered a couple starters - albacore and crab cakes - along with a side of Brussells Sprouts. Don't leave there without ordering the latter. The staff was just attentive enough and didn't hover which is always appreciated, and encouraged us to take our time. Oh, and good wine. Duh. Great afternoon!
This is one of our favorite places, but today the service was just fair. I don’t think they expected as big of crowd, yet new staff wasn’t trained to the caliber as previous. Food was good as always.
Phenomenal dinner and service!! Our #1 for a special occasion or just a night out.
King Estate is always my favorite! The filet mignon is an every time for me.
The food choices are boring. Nothing special other than the prices. Our waiter was a redhead with a red beard. He was more interested in giving back ribs to the other staff than servicing table. Horrible table service! We live 9 miles away and wish King Estates would get a good chef and restaurant manager. The wines are good.
My new favorite restaurant in the city of Eugene. Spectacular location and site. Superb service. Outstanding organic gourmet cuisine.
Beautiful view. The food was awesome. I am wheat and dairy free and had no trouble finding wonderful things to eat. The desserts are beautiful and so good! The waiters are professional and friendly. Wish I lived closer.
Impromptu weeknight dinner with family visiting from out of town, restaurant was quiet and relaxing, setting with vineyard views and restaurant ambiance with Tulikivi fireplace and warm wood interior was beautiful, service was exquisite, and the food was just amazing. Recommend the Charcuterie Board, a real value with wonderful groupings of flavors. We are gluten free and they had delicious gluten free crackers on the board and were able to accomodate us on almost all the entrees. The chef sent out a complimentary appetizer of halibut ceviche with citrus sauce that was outstanding. Overall, just a relaxed, sophisticated farm to table meal and experience. Highly recommend when you are in the Eugene, OR area.
Great vineyard, wine and food for dinner.
Amazing food and incredible service! Everything was superb!
A wonderful upscale, comfortable find not far from Eugene's center. Fireplace, well-trained service, including coat-check, and of course, excellent wine.
