Waited 90 minutes and no entrees. Manager came by when we finally complained. Fish was over cooked and less than 4 ounces for an entree portion. Very salty. Not a good experience at all. Served wine that was past its prime. Server acknowledged.
The food was excellent and creative and our waitress, Nicole, was exceptional. It's a bit pricey but then again, what is Buckhead is not?
Went here for my birthday dinner Sunday night and was not dissapointed! My boyfriend says it's his new favorite restaurant. The star of the night was the food, as it should be. I adore their pimento cheese & pepper jelly hush puppies, the beef tartare was perfect and the duck was cooked perfectly. We ended with the sticky toffee pudding which was absolutely heavenly! Cocktails were great, wine was good & service was timely and well executed. It was a great ambiance, although regrettably the host sat a single person who talked loudly on his phone the whole meal right next to us (like, less than 1 foot away) even though all the other tables on the patio had cleared out. I get sections and all that, but he had a different server so seemed slightly unnecessary. Anway that was the only negative of the evening. We had a great time & will be back!
Came here for Father’s Day. Food was decent. The hostess had an attitude when I told her our daughter (who was in her stroller) wasn’t in the headcount for our reservation. After a deep sigh and eye roll from her, we waited about 10 mins to be seated. The gentleman who seated us, was very nice. Our waiter was cordial, but he could only answer one of our questions about the menu without asking someone else. He knew how many deviled eggs would come with the order, but didn’t know what cut of steak was in steak and eggs or what Teeling was in one of the cocktails. Yes, we could’ve googled the latter question, but he should have known. Water refills were slow and we were seated outside which didn’t make the delay ideal.
King + Duke made for a great dining experience on Father’s Day!
Father’s Day was fabulous!
Very nice restaurant. Great food. Better service with Nicole. She was very helpful and nice
Fantastic!!!!!! Lamont was our server and he was AMAZINGGG!!!! I came in with some out of town guest and they were pretty picky. Lamont actually over accommodated! They loved everything he suggested. He had us laughing the entire time. The entire staff was just wonderful! Genuinely nice and attentive. They made us feel super special like we were old friends and the food was excellent! We will definitely be back!
This was our 2nd visit after our 1st was the chef's counter experience. We really wanted to try the menu and it did not disappoint. We had the peach appetizer, artichokes, pork/chorizo, swordfish, sticky toffee pudding, and strawberry shortcake which were all amazing.
We enjoyed an early dinner here, was not too busy and inside/outside seating is nice and clean. The only downside was the menu limitations. It was very small selection and the prices were pretty high for decent food. It wasn’t the best meal ever but it was good. I just don’t like spending $100 on just good. The drinks was tasty, loved the complimentary pop overs and the pimento hush puppy appetizer. The French onion soup was excellent and filling, but $10 really? I never complain of prices but for a soup, I’m so picky over onion soup so i try it everywhere I travel. This one was one of best I’ve had but double priced. I ordered the vegetarian lasagna which was yummy and my boyfriend had the burger. He didn’t like the toppings (he’s picky) but tried it anyways. It was a big burger, nice flavors if you like richness of blue cheese and Carmelita’s onion but one bite I had was very rich. Bun fell apart, but we loved the fries. We had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was tasty, but again not the best ever.
It was my wife and I first experience at the restaurant. Our friends had been a few years ago. We arrived and grabbed a drink at the bar. Once we sat at our table we were greeted from Jonathan. Besides the delicious food he was outstanding explaining the menu and making recommendations. Our overall dining experience was a 10 thanks to the incredible food and the service. We’ll definitely be back!!
This dinner was in celebration of my daughter’s birthday.
The beef carpaccio was amazing, I just wish It were larger for Sharing with a larger group
Our service was amazing and we had such a wonderful time. The food was so incredible, my party talked about it all night.
We loved our dinner at King and Duke!! My husband had the duck and is still talking about it! Awesome place!!!
Got great cocktails at the bar before our reservation. Got to the table and had the bone marrow app, and then got duck and swordfish with a side of artichoke. Moved onto the peanut pie for dessert. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted outstanding. The atmosphere of this place is well thought out and classy, and yet still relaxed and fun. A+
Loved the octopus -summer adaptation. Delicious!
It was amazing. We had a limited amount of time to get to the theater. Our server made sure we made it in time and enjoyed everything!!
I took my fiancé to King + Duke for his 24th birthday on a Monday night. I love the style of the restaurant. Great outdoor bar and seating! I didn't like the "Portrait of the Lady" cocktail, but we both loved the "Placebo". Our appetizers, entrees, and dessert were incredible. We ate SO much food. Large portion sizes. Our waiter was Marc, and he was awesome! You could tell he loved to work there and truly loved the food there.
Amazing! We will be back
Enjoyed dinner here with my date. Neither of us had ever been and we were both happy we finally dined here. The restaurant is as good as the hype.
We were greeted and seated by a very friendly hostess and the meal got better. Our waiter was even better by providing a great dining experience (I guess the chef gets some credit?). We enjoyed drinks from the bar, a wonderful grilled octopus appetizer, great dinners (chicken and fish) and topped it of with coffee and desert.
Super attentive service down to bday card for the bday guy in our group! Great food as always and the bread rolls to die for!
A bit pricey but knew that going in. Absolutely delicious meal and will return
Food was over cooked and salty
So we had a really wonderful experience here. The Onion soup was incredible play on the classic french Onion, the duck was absolutely insane, the tilefish was cooked perfectly. Service was great
This place has a wonderful PDR area, outside tables with plants and cover, great brunch, and smokey meats. The cocktails are top notch and wine selection matches the menu.
My only big complaint is the seriously annoying, obtuse and way too bright long tube shaped lights near the bar. The whole restaurant is lit perfectly, execpt for this area near the bar. They are not only too bright, they are fluorescent bulbs while the rest is incandescent and candle lit. Made me feel uncomfortable sitting by the bar and like I was in a cafeteria. May sound a bit “xtra” but coming from the restaurant world, if that was changed i think it would make the place feel alot warmer :)
First time at King + Duke. A group of friends planned a birthday dinner for my husband. The food was amazing and even had options for the vegetarians! The cocktails were delicious and when we got a side we didn’t order, they brought us the correct side, let us keep the one we didn’t order and didn’t charge us for either! The staff was fantastic, the atmosphere was great and we loved the free dessert and champagne for my husband’s birthday. Great place and highly recommend!
Disappointed in menu choices. We had the King and it was good but overall it was over priced. $68 for the only single steak option a NY strip seemed high. Never have liked when you are a couple being seat at a 2 top and so close to the next table , hard to have a private conversation.
The food and experience at King & Duke is always top notch! The quality if food is superb as well as the quantity provided. Brunch was delicious as usual and our server, although new, was very knowledgeable regarding the menu. The ambiance is modern, contemporary, and classy. I always enjoy this place and have never been disappointed. Great restaurant!
Best service in town, our waiter remembered us from visiting once before and the food was stellar. Atmosphere 👌🏻 Food 👌🏻 Service 👌🏻Will always be my first pick for a evening or brunch out.
Was a bit disappointed in the service as others seating after us were served before we were. Had to ask about our appetizer. This was our 1st experience at the restaurant and it was for brunch. Not sure if we will give it a try for dinner or not. We had heard nothing but good things about this restaurant,
Beautiful patio, very good food/service too. Quite loud bc of no padding on floors, chairs, etc.
Used to be one of our favorite places. Appetizer was cold but we didn't send it back. Entrees were VERY salty. Couldn't eat them. They were replaced, but I don't think we will be back. Too many good places in Atlanta to waste a night out on a bad experience. Esp. since it was our anniversary.
This is a difficult review. The food was mostly very delicious, and our waiter was very attentive to exactly the right degree. Our problem was with the seating. For a restaurant at this price level, the seating was poor. The tables for two are tiny, more appropriate for a single diner. The tables for four are relatively tiny, more appropriate for two people. Meanwhile, expanses of space are empty.
We appeared for our reservation exactly on time. When the hostess took us initially to a tiny table for two in the middle of the east wing with passage ways on both sides, we asked if we could instead have one of the empty tables for four which we saw near by the window, as we saw that two similar tables were occupied by a couple each. She demurred and led us back to the bar where she offered us a table for four in a bright space by the window. We accepted, and only later recognized that we were seated exactly beside the double door to the patio bar.
Were we denied a nicer table because we are two men, or because we are in our seventies, much older than most of the generally young crowd, or for both of those offenses?
The only complaint we had about the food was that a $16 appetizer – grilled octopus – was only about six small bites and thus seemed overpriced. One dessert (the sticky toffee pudding) is actually cake swimming in a sauce and overly sweet for our taste, but others may love it.
Had a lovely time. Service was excellent
Food was great and service was even better. We tried the Halibut, Trout, and hamburger. All were fantastic. Our sides were the mashed potatoes, asparagus, and artichokes. They were all exceptional. Desserts were off the chart. Highly recommended.
The wood-fired grill gave great flavors to all our selections. The duck breast was amazing. Although a steak is on the menu, this is not a "steak" restaurant. Wonderful fish, chicken, shrimp selections all cooked over often flame. I will come again.
Everything I put in my mouth at this restaurant was delicious! The artichokes were incredible, my hell of it was fantastic, the kale salad was delicious! Really really outstanding!
