My husband and I have been to King + Duke a few times now, and it's become one of our favorite places to go for date night. The vibe on a Sunday night is pretty mellow and cozy, and we were grateful for that! Favorite menu staples of ours: the octopus appetizer, the wagyu beef tartare appetizer, the chicken dish, the burger, the pork dish. Wine and beer selection is well-edited and reasonably priced. Only thing--usually, the dessert menu at King + Duke is amazing. The other night, though, the chocolate tart that we got to split was very dry and absolutely *needed* that scoop of chocolate ice cream on top in order to be eaten. It was tasty...just so dry. Must not have been a particularly good batch; normally, dessert is something we are really happy to save room for!
King+Duke continues to excel on what it does well. Casual hip setting with awesome food and friendly service. This was my 2nd Sunday Brunch visit in a month and they did all well. But most rememberable was the excellent wait staff, reception and friendly faces working. Even my 88 y/o Mom was overjoyed by the sweetness of the people and of course the cinnamon roll. The limited menu selection gives you a variety of meal choices that is not IHOP....thank you. Continue the good work and see you soon.
The food was phenomenal! The squid ink risotto should be a menu staple!!!! He service was wonderful and Ryan, the Manager takes great care to make sure your dining experience is memorable and you want to return! Love this restaurant!
Appetizers great! grilled octopus and georgia shrimp perfect. Entrees below average, cold vegetables (frozen?), duck dry and sides, artichokes great but forgotten by the kitchen arriving when we already finished eating... our waiter disappeared and we have to be asking other waiters, busboys or even managers for additional drinks or dessert. Disappointed because I like this place a lot but last night was totally below average.
Great selection of food choices, staff was above and beyond, overall amazing experience.
Amazing food from start to finish. Will definitely go back. It’s not cheap, but worth it.
We had a great dinner on the outdoor patio overlooking buckhead. Great spot to enjoy good food and people watching.
We celebrated our anniversary at King+Duke, and had a very enjoyable evening. Complimentary champagne to start, a very personable and knowledgeable server (Catina), an interesting and informative conversation with the wine steward, and outstanding food. At the end of the evening, we were presented with a Happy Anniversary card with personalized best wishes from seven of the team members - a very warm and memorable touch.
We'll definitely return, and look forward to enjoying the patio dining when the weather is a bit warmer.
This was an early business dinner with out-of-town guests. Some arrived late but the staff was very smooth in making sure there was no problem with the reservation. K&D's popovers and small plates were a big hit with the table and the cocktails were also popular. Everyone raved about their entrees. My chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the spicy greens were a nice complement. It was after-work cocktail hour for the nearby office workers and the music at the bar was a little loud, but it really did not affect our ability to have a conversation. This remains one of my favorite go-to spots in Buckhead. Highly recommended.
Despite open table reservation for 4, the restaurant only had the reservation for 2. Luckily they were not busy and able to accommodate us. The waiter was very attentive and kept our water filled, had excellent explanation of the restaurant and suggestions for dinner, and surprised us with a birthday cake with a candle! The birthday guest also got a specially printed menu saying happy birthday. The food was not fancy but simple and tasty as they aspire to.
Super fun - and good for families
First the service was awful.... my husband did not get his food until us others were almost done. The server forgot to put his order in. Then my food was awful... the apps were awful... no flavor. The food was priced way to highly for what we got...the table was constantly wobbling, every time someone touched it or leaned on it and they couldn’t get it fixed for us.... just a horrible experience and will never return!!!
We were going to a show at the Buckhead Theater, and needed to find somewhere to eat beforehand. Might be the closest place to eat if you're going to BT.
The menu had a wide variety of choices. Meaning, not a lot of choices for a particular type of meat, but there was a prime rib, a duck, a vegetarian lasagna, a burger, you get the picture.
We ate outside, as it was a beautiful night. The server was attentive but not hovering. $140 for the meal and a few drinks. A little on the pricy side, but we were in Buckhead.
Food was way too salty, slow service but great ambiance. Great for cocktails.
Service was absolutely horrific. It took >30 minutes for drinks to arrive...we even finished our appetizer before the wine arrived.
I brought my mom for her birthday before a show at Buckhead Theater. We had plenty of time, but service was off to a very slow start and we got frustrated. This wasn’t what I had hoped for my mom’s birthday. The servers were very apologetic and more than made it up to us with one of their delicious shrimp starters and champagne to close the meal. The rest of our meal was delicious as well. We had the duck and lasagna.
Birthday - great patio experience
The food here is consistently excellent, but the place is usually a zoo! We had a reservation (obviously!), but the hostess seemed super stressed and told us to wait. Our server (Kelly) made up for it by bringing us an extra appetizer, even though she was REEEALLY running her tail off (she had tables upstairs, downstairs, AND outside!) Mgmt must be out of touch! That sort of assignment is so unfair to servers! Again, the food is always good, but this is NOT a place to take clients or impress a date!
Fantastic meal, excellent service. Will definitely revisit
I came here for Sunday brunch with an old friend. When we arrived, we were seated quickly. The server was incredibly attentive and took our drink and food orders quickly. We had the vanilla glazed doughnuts to start and they were perfectly warm and delicious. I ordered the quiche and my friend ordered the burger. The quiche had a yummy flaky crust, and had just the right texture. The burger was thick and juicy, and my friend loved it. Our server, Ryan, checked on us throughout our dining experience, and was very engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, drinks, service, and ambiance.
I really enjoyed meeting the staff, they made us feel very welcomed. I will definitely have to try the other Food Fry restaurants next time I’m in town. Our waitress Brittany was very sweet and knowledgeable of the menu and the restaurants stories. She was great with giving us recommendations on what to try. Thanks King + Duke, for making it a great experience for us.
The manager, Ryan, felt as though our food was late coming out and offered to refresh my drink. He had spoken and checked on us earlier and was very attentive to all the patrons. The service was fantastic, even the runners were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient! My duck was excellent and the artichokes were phenomenal! I will definitely return to King + Duke!
Great Service and very friendly! A friend recommended us the place and we can’t agree more!
Food is great and the service is exceptional. We had an amazing dining experience.
My first time and it was everything I hoped! I had been dying to try this spot and told my BF this was where we were going for our anniversary. They were so nice. Nicole our server was so friendly, not overly attentive and seemed to always show up at the perfect moment when we were in need. We had the swordfish and trout - both of which were exceptional. The layout, lighting and music gave the perfect ambiance. The aperitifs were outstanding and then they brought flutes for us to cheers to our special day. Thank you K&D!
This restaurant is one of our favorites! Always a great experience.
I went into King and Duke with high expectations but the meal didn’t meet those. While the food was prepared well the food lacked excitement. The appetizers and desert were much better than the main course.
The food was amazing and the service was great. We went for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. We will certainly go back again.
Love everything about this place. Especially the popovers.
We did the chef's blind tasting and had a great time watching the chefs work their magic over the fire. Service was fantastic and this was a great way to try what inspires the chefs at that moment. Food, cocktail, and wine were excellent. Highly recommend!
Waiter was pleasant, but always seem to be in a hurry. Presentation of food was good. Brunch potatoes were overcooked as some were hard and dried out. The same happened with the chicken fried chicken. The piece (small) was dried out, and hard. They did replace it right away. It should never have been plated, let alone served; and covering it with gravy did not help. The restaurant was not overly busy, so more attention could have been given to the food. Music was so loud that conversation was a bit difficult. Sitting near the kitchen can be warm, so do not over dress.
My friend and I enjoyed Sunday brunch here and it was wonderful! We had the cinnamon rolls for the table and then each chose the friend chicken with biscuit, eggs and gravy. The chicken was amazing, a great flavor. Food was great and the outdoor patio was perfect for the nice weather!
Amazing service and food!
My wife and teenage son went for Easter lunch and it was very nice. We sat out on the patio and the weather was perfect. Only on crying child, which is incredible on Easter. The side of biscuits and potatoes (crunchy like potato skins) were delicious. Quiche and duck hash were incredible. My steak and eggs was ehhh. Steak was very thin and easy to over cook, which is what happened. I won’t make that mistake again. I like K+D and definitely go back.
Love king duke’s brunch. So fresh, so delish! Love their blueberry muffins, hush puppies, fried chicken and their scrambled eggs are amazing. So light and velvety. You can absolutely tell their food is farm fresh. The French toast is my children’s favorite. It is amazing!
Three friends and I have a weekly supper club. We try restaurants that none of us have ever been to. We were greeted with warm service and despite being late to our reservation after our Uber couldn’t find us, we were seated directly in front of where the food is expedited from the open grill kitchen. The low lighting and intimate seating allowed for a stellar mood setting. Not only was our server highly attentive, the chef of the restaurant came and checked on us hisself, wanting to make sure we were enjoying his delicious creations.
Might I recommend the wagyu beef tartare, hearth roasted duck, grilled asparagus, and do not miss the sticky toffee pudding. We tried lots more but those were my favorites. Definitely worth the trip to buckhead. We will be back in the not so distant future.
