   Great restaurant. Good attempt to make experience memorable. Party of four and arrived for 7p reservation. Two of us who arrived earlier already had a drink at the bar. A bit odd that the barkeep didn't allow us to transfer our tab to the table - personal dislike but not a big deal. Indoors and outdoor seating area is excellent. This was a fairly large restaurant compared to what I had imagined - large outdoor patio, two levels inside. House bread is delicious, drinks were well made. I ordered barkeep's choice and rather than give my flavor profile I went all-in and asked to be surprised. Got a vodka drink with mint leaves. Not exactly what I was in mood for but it was well made. We also sent kitchen a round of beer - excellent option and not expensive. Had red wine (Malbec) for rest of the evening which was yummy. They have a nice wine list with options that should please any flavor profile and budget. We ordered several small plates - pickles (too much vinegar for my taste), duck fat fries (good, but not great), steak, fried oysters (well made), couple of pastas (squid ink - just ok, cooked well but nothing to write home about in terms of flavor; other one with country ham and chilies was delicious albeit bit heavy handed on salt like few other items). We ordered three deserts - server recommended cinnamon bread/roll (delicious), raspberry sorbet (good flavor but full of seeds - I would imagine that this could be fixed by straining?), and cookies with cream ice cream - decent. All in all may come back for another shot next time in the area. Want to try few other pastas on menu.

   Food and service was perfect. Went there for a Birthday dinner and it exceeded our expectations. The portions were excellent in sharing and trying the different menu items.

   Terrific menu of small plates to share. Everything was well balanced, well seasoned, and just delicious. Staff attentive and engaging. It's a little crowded, "cozy" and a little loud...just acoustics in an old building. Request a table upstairs for a quieter experience. Will definitely return.

   We went there for our anniversary and were placed between a tabke of 8 and another party who was there on a friends get together. Both tables were very loud and so was the music in the restaurant. The food was good, but the atmosphere was not what I was hoping for for an anniversary dinner. That could be my fault for not asking before hand.

   Wonderful anniversary dinner at Kindred! Definitely worth the hour drive from Charlotte on a week night in traffic. Service was great throughout the entire evening. I wouldn't call it a complaint but I wish the plates came out a little slower to drag out the experience a little. (Sounds silly to talk about how quick the service was) Milk bread cinnamon roll is a do not miss no matter what....It was amazing and worth every single calorie. We will definitely return!

   Was good but not great. From all the other reviews we expected more, maybe that is our fault. I do not anticipate our return.

    Kindred has a consistently innovative and fresh take on local, seasonal cuisine. I particularly enjoy the trout dishes and the milkbread, of course. The service is friendly, the wine list is good and not crazy expensive. It is overall a really great dining experience and worth a drive from Charlotte!
