Fabulous dinner with perfect spring rolls to start! So quick and the service just right! We’ll be back!!
Great food and service. We will return.
We enjoyed our meal and it was very convenient to the Guthrie theater which was great. The food was tasty but not very spicy. If you like spice go for the 5. No mixed drinks but wine and beer. Waiter was friendly.
The food is great. I had the salmon which was flavorful, tender and well seasoned. The service was prompt and friendly. Great place for dinner before a play at the Guthrie.
Our food was outstanding - great curries! Nice spot for a pre-Guthrie meal.
We stop you before going to the Guthrie. The server was friendly and helpful. She asked if we were going to the Guthrie and made sure our food came out quickly. The food was excellent and they had very good wines by the glass.
As always, the food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was calming.
Soup was VERY salty
The food is delicious, and service has been attentive the handful of times I've been there. My wife and I have gone there at least three times after plays at the Guthrie, and we look forward to it each time. She favors the Massaman curry, I the yellow curry.
Great Thai choice before a Guthrie show. Staff is fast but not rushing you.
They happily changed our table to a quieter corner when requested. Friendly quick service. Love the fresh veggie food!
Entrees we’re flavorful but small in portion size.
We went before a performance at the Guthrie. Food was good, nothing special really. Spring rolls were OK. Service was good.
Wonderful experience
And the staff was generous with their service
Food was ok. Defintely only in business because of proximity to Guthrie. Service was excellent.
There wasn’t many vegetables with main course which said chicken with peppers and only a few skinny slices. The waiter forgot to bring wine. It was ok but will not go there again
She liked the food a lot. There was a play that night at the Guthrie across the street. The servers were very conscientious about the time customers had so they could make it to the play on time. When everyone left for the play there were only a few people left so we had some peace and quiet for our date.
Location, location, location. Kindee is kitty-corner from the Guthrie Theater, meaning they have a built-in before and after theater crowd. If it weren't for the that, Kindee wouldn't last a year.
Specifically, one of our party had to return her dish owing to the chicken being cooked to the point of being uncuttable and inedible. To their credit, they acknowledged the error and replaced the dish right away. But that wasn't the only problem. I'm not sure why it is on the menu, but their "tempura" features something more akin to pancake batter than the light, airy and delicate coating one might expect. And fish wraps? McDonald's serves more delicate and flaky fish.
So why give it 3 stars? Because three out of five of the sauces were actually good. My Thai Basil with mock duck was flavorful. My daughter's "Garlic" with broccoli and chicken was ok. My wife's pad se yew wasn't bad.
If it weren't for the horrid Minnesota winters, I suspect most people, once having tried Kindee, would walk four blocks to Sawatdee for more authentic fare. Or they'd go somewhere else for a burger. But if you need to dash to or from the Guthrie without getting frostbite, and/or don't want to spend a small fortune at Sea Change or Spoon River, expect mediocrity; not horrible, but not good. That is Kindee.
The food ss pretty and tasty. The server was superb. Perfect place to meet friends before the Guthrie.
We have been to Kindee Thai twice in the last month - both times before a theater performance at the Guthrie. Food was delicious and we did not feel rushed. Great service. We are fussy about Thai food and would rank this high in terms of freshness, taste and presentation.
Solid Thai fare, good drinks selection, close to Guthrie for in and out, get to the show.
Enjoy the food, friendly staff, inconsistent hosting but they do the job
Consistently great food and service. So convenient for pre Guthrie dining.
The food quality at Kindee is unbeatable! If you’re looking for authentic Thai cuisine, look no further. If you’re going with a group larger than seven people though, be aware that it’s going to be a royal pain to settle your bill. That process was slow and arduous, so much so that a few of us missed the opening of the play at the Guthrie.
Very good food, quick seating, good beer; service was great.
Waiter was fantastic!
Consistently tasty. Very good service. Great place to go before a play at the Guthrie.
The food was very good, as always -- fresh and flavorful and the right amount of spice -- but the service was a little sluggish. I arrived before my friend, and let the waiter know when she arrived that we had Guthrie tickets. He took her drink order, then disappeared for a long while -- I really had to wave him down to place our dinner order, and do the same when we needed our check. It was a very snowy night, so maybe they were short of staff?
Love Kindee fresh fast and love the environment.. Fried Rice was amazing along with the wings..My favorite date go to spot!
I like kindee Thai - typically eat here before Guthrie plays. Often the restaurant is busy, but this time it was quiet - so I was able to notice lots of wall areas where the paint is scraped off (from chairs, looks like). Makes the restaurant look like it needs some attention.
Love the whole menu. Never disappointed. Great service too
As always, the food and quick service was very good.
There did not seem to be any heat in the building . The paint on the walls is peeling. we have been there in the past and did not have the same experience.
This is the perfect venue for dinner before taking in a show at the Guthrie. Cordon blue chef Thai food. Plum wine a nice accompaniment to the curries.
Very bland. Not a lot of options on the menu. Meat was over cooked.
Overall it was good. Or just ok. Here's the run down:
Pros
Kitchen was fast
Sevice was good
Food was good but not as flavorful as I hoped
Cons
Tables are Extremely close together
Very loud
Very cold, despite being packed in like sardines
Food lacked depth
Perhaps lunch time would be a better experience. We'll go back to the other Thai restaurant nearby next time.
We reserved a table at this restaurant to get a quick bite before a play at the Guthrie. Service was a bit slow to order, but was served fairly quickly. Food was good; some items were quite awesome like the soups. Pad Tai lacked ingredients we normally enjoy in pad tai, also was a little sweet. Was very chilly in the room; could have used more heat! We had plenty of time for a leisurely meal before the play.
Kindee Thai has become a favorite for lunch before a Guthrie Theater matinee performance.
This was my first time at Kindee. I loved the variety of vegetarian options. Many to choose from. So many restaurants have one or two boring options. Kindee has lots of choices. I like that some of the meals were stand alone, and then you add your protein. Our server was very attentive and very friendly. We will be back with friends!
We were sat by the window and it was freezing: we had to dine with our coats on!
First time to Kindee, food was great and so was the service.
