Kindee Thai Restaurant
Indifferent wait staff. Smallish portions. Frankly, both our meals were bland and boring.
Bistro atmosphere with small tables. Wait staff knew the menu and have great recommendations! Every menu item had rich, delicious flavor!
Great. Good fab
Great food. They were very attentive to have us served and on our way before the show.
My experience at Kindee was awesome!!!!
Everything was great except for noise level
Consistently good food
We were in a bit of a rush to get to the orchestra, and were a few minutes late for our reservation due to weather/traffic. The restaurant was packed, but we were seated immediately and our food arrived quickly enough that we still made the performance on time. Food was delicious, especially the asparagus/shrimp/tomato dish that I had and the fried egg rolls. My wife had the red curry, which she also would recommend.
It’s bright, clean, and well maintained, but this is a very busy place. To accommodate the crowds, the tables are on the small side and quite close together, and the kitchen is open to the dining floor, so it can get a bit loud when it’s bustling. Imagine a high-end diner that serves really good Thai food, and you’ll get the picture. Great location, though, with plenty of parking nearby. Give them a try.
I accidentally clicked on the poor button. I really rate Kindee's as outstanding. I have been there several times and have always enjoyed it.
Loved the food! This was my first time having Thai, and I absolutely loved my experience—I would definitely recommend this place!
It’s ok if you need a restaurant close to the Guthrie but the food is average and the service slow. They should be prepared for Wednesday matinee lunch diners and yet we had to chase the server to get her to get the check and then ring the check. Not fun if poor service makes you tense.
Always enjoy their food.
Everything was great. The server was very attentive and all of the food was great. An excellent experience.
A fine place for those who like the spice of Thai cuisine! Handy for Guthrie-goers, and at a good price point.
Our 1st experience at Kin Dee and we were favorably impressed. Very pleasant environment and comfortable place. Met friends and all liked their food and service was excellent. The only negative was that it was noisy.
Good spot with tasty well-priced food for Pre-Guthrie dinner.
Great before theater place for dinner and drinks. Convenient, fast service and good food.
Good food and pleasant service.
The hostess was less than friendly. And the menu she gave us was sticky with some dipping sauce. A bit off putting but the food was very good.
Always excellent food and friendly service. We always make a reservation before our visits to the Guthrie
Very quiet place to eat with friends or family. Great food and very nice service
Great food and service, but needs a full liquor license. Only beer and wine.
What could have been a wonderful anniversary dinner for two, became a struggle to avoid sun in the eyes from a reflection off the windows across the street. Our reservation was at 5:00 p.m. - as the sun was setting. We had theatre tickets for 7p.m. We like to sit near the windows on the south. I suggest you put up shades on the windows facing S. 2nd St. for the comfort of your guests. Otherwise, I doubt we'll be back - sad to say - because your food is excellent.
Good food, good service and good prices. T or or he perfect pre-Guthrie dinner spot.
Food was mediocre. Bathroom area was dirty. Very loud. Service was prompt, wine was good.
We loved the food. Had an excellent server who made good recommendations. We will return!
Much too loud. We could not have s conversation over the table without shouting. They should install some sound proofing.
This is a good Thai restaurant and it is so convenient to the Guthrie. The service was good and so was the food. It is not my favorite Thai restaurant, but it is worth a visit.
Food was great and service was good. The cranberry cream cheese won tons were amazing! Love that they have the real Thai ice tea - so orange and delicious.
The food is delicious. The wait staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. Very busy.
The food was good, but the service was very slow. The wait staff was great, but it seemed to be more crowded than the kitchen could handle. We waited over 45 minutes for our food.
There was a long wait for our entrees. We barely made it to our seats at the Guthrie in time, and we had allowed 90 minutes.
Great spot with friendly and helpful staff, great variety on menu and delicious food! Highly recommend this little local restaurant.
Unusually fresh and simple Thai food with great ingredients and great flavor. Of course, the location is perfect for a show at the Guthrie.
It was a bit of a lackluster night. I've had much better meals there. The noise was way too much. It was very hard to talk to and hear my partner.
What has happened? We have eaten at this restaurant many, many times on a Saturday before attending the Guthrie theater. OK its not the Blue Elephant in Bangkok, but the food used to be decent the service adequate and the noise level tolerable. Coming a few minutes late because of traffic going to a Twins game, there was no one to greet us and I had to flag down a waitress and point out my name on her tablet. The place was mobbed as usual at 5:45 PM before the Guthrie on a Saturday, but the noise level was the loudest ever encountered in the years we have been coming there. The waitress came quickly though, brought our drinks and took our appetizer orders. While eating our appetizers, the waitress came back to take our mains orders, and promptly brought them while we were still eating our appetizers, attempting to pick up my plate before I had removed the last 1/2 of a spring roll. My Panang Curry was a dreadful watery red concoction with several thin pieces of rubbery meat sunken in the bottom of the bowl. The Vermicelli side was overcooked but even more so than usual. My wife ordered eggplant and shrimp curry containing two relatively small shrimp, uncooked hard eggplant (allegedly steamed) and some very, very firm tofu added at a slight extra charge. We have ordered the same items at Kindee in the past, but the "chef" must have been in a bad mood this time.
I can say though, there was no problem getting to the Guthrie in plenty of time as the meal lasted about 40 minutes, with bill coming as fast as the appetizers were removed! Disappointed to say the least---to the extent we will be hesitant to come back.
We can always count on Kindee for great food (and the leftovers heat up so well) and feel lucky when we score an outside table on a beautiful summer day. Our server was outstanding and fun to talk to. We love Kindee and it’s great for our adult daughter who is a vegetarian. Make a reservation- it’s a hot spot for the Guthrie play- goers too.
Tasty, with consistent quality. A safe bet before an evening downtown.
Delicious food and a great variety. The restaurant was very busy, yet the staff took great care of all of us.
The food is marvelous and the location right there across from the Guthrie makes it perfect for a pre-show dinner. However, it gets very busy so be sure and have a reservation. After our last visit though, my party of four (who were visiting for the third time in about two months) all had to admit the service was terrible. We weren’t made to feel welcome and barely saw our (surly) server and had long waits for water, ordering, apps, bill and payment processing. Pretty much any aspect that involved interacting with our server. When I suggested to my party that the poor service was just bc of how busy it was they all pointed out to me that we’ve never gotten good service there (but always got the same server). Good thing the food makes up for the service.
