Kincaid's - St. Paul Ratings and Reviews
We went for nice meal to celebrate my 30th birthday. Our reservation was at 7pm which was perfect because people seemed to be clearing out for the Wild game. We had a pretty view of Rice Park and the Christmas lights from our booth. Sharón was our waitress and she did a wonderful job for us all evening. We really appreciated her recommendations and everything from the salad to dessert was amazing! The Godiva chocolate raspberry martini I finished with was a perfect blend of boozey chocolate, temperature and texture! Yum! We had a beautiful evening. Delightful!
After having been seated, drink orders taken and delivered, we still had not gotten the bread. We flagged down our wait staff and asked about the bread. It was coming we were told. If the restaurant was packed, I could understand the wait. However, lunch on Tuesday, it was not busy. Our table was next to the stairs. There was a constant flow of traffic, making you feel like you were sitting in the middle of the path.
We went to Kincaids to celebrate my son's birthday. There were five of us including a seven-year old boy. Even though this is not really considered a kid friendly place, it is not unfriendly. They have a kid's menu, which indicates they are okay with a kid coming in the restaurant. Everything the four adults in the party ordered (starting with the tasting tray for an appetizer) was well done and imaginative. This was a seven o'clock reservation, so it was crowded and fairly noisy. The farther you get away from the bar area, the better, since it is where a large amount of the noise originates.
everything was wonderful. was very impressed there was a children's menu - we took our granddaughter and her friend to see Anne and had a wonderful dining experience before the show. Server was fabulous, food delicious and kids loved it - they ate every bite!! only comment was food came out slow - but it was also very busy.
thanks for a memorable evening.
My husband and I both ordered the Simply Grilled steaks. On the menu it stated they came with garlic mashed potatoes or parmesan herb fingerling potatoes. The server didn't ask which we preferred; they came with garlic mashed potatoes. I asked the server how I should ask for my steak to be cooked as I don't like red, warm centers, I prefer hot pink center. She told me Medium Plus would be just right. When the steak came and she asked me to cut into it, it was cool, red, almost rare center. She took it to be cooked a little more. My husband was almost done with his meal before my steak was returned. I'm sure others like the vegetables, we found them to be unappetizing and not great flavor. They looked like a pile of black things on the plate. Not sure what they were but the there wasn't any flavor so I didn't bother eating mine. We were there over an hour and not once did anyone come to fill our water glasses until our plates were cleared. Not sure I will go back. I expect a little better service and food for my money.
The food was terrible. The turkey was undercooked and unseasoned. The dressing was greasy. The vegetables were fair, the mashed potatoes were good. I was shocked. I have never had such bad food in a fine restaurant in my life. It was very expensive and very bad. What happened to Kincaids? The service was fine. The people were accommodating but the food, no!
It was good, the main course was tasty however the chef relies a little to heavily on onions and lemon for the salad and appetizer. I had a couple different craft beers and both were warm or cool at best. Lastly when theres an event at the Ordway I would expect a resturant that close by to be busy and it was not. I wpuld say 80% empty.
