Kincaid's - St. Paul
comfort , of trends and tradition, of fresh thinking
and established methods -- Kincaid’s is the
New Classic American restaurant.
This was a great experience. Was heading to the Wild game and our spectacular server, Rick, asked about our timing and made sure to get us through dinner and to the game on time! Would absolutely recommend to visitors and locals alike.
Very nice date night meal! We will be back. Loved it!
The food was good, but not outstanding for the prices. Our waiter was great!
My just-turned-2 grandson was along. I was prepared to bring him out to the atrium if necessary, but the restaurant kept him engaged with crayons, kid-friendly but not junk food, and a surprise ice cream treat. The waitress was very accommodating. I know Kincaid’s isn’t a family restaurant, but we felt very welcomed.
We go to Kincaid's every January for our family Holiday dinner - kind of a wind down from the chaos that is Christmas. First, I wish I would have asked our table number - we were sat at the same table last year- and it is in the crossroads of everything and everyone. I realize as a party of 5, seating is more limited, but I really do not enjoy being jostled and passed by all night. Second, my meal was so under-whelming. I believe in plate presentation almost as much as actual taste. My meal came out and everything on the plate was a shade of brown. Not one pop of color, nothing green? Ugh. I had the Seared Peppercorn Crusted NY Steak. It was brown and the "crust" was damp and lifeless. The fingerling potatoes were actually mixed with some other root vegetables, but were all the same color - even the "rainbow" carrots. This is the first time I was actually disappointed in Kincaid's. Not saying we won't be back, but disappointed none the less.
The ambiance is nice. Our server asked if we were seeing a show and we were seeing one at 7:30. Plenty of time, she said. (we were seated at 5:55). Our salads came quickly and were good. The rest of our food did not come until 6:50 pm. The short ribs were good. The chicken was dried out and tough. The steelhead was salty and dry. For the price, we were disappointed and won't be back.
Me and my wife were lucky enough to get a table on New Years Eve. It was our first time here. We couldn’t have been more then happy. Our waiter Bjorn was outstanding and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back many more times!!
New Years eve
Food was good though did not feel it warranted the price. The little things were overlooked like replacing silverware and timing of items arriving to the table. The bread had an uneven texture as though it had been frozen and then thawed. I ordered a cocktail that ended up being $18. At comparable restaurants, it would have been no more than$12. We won’t be back soon and will opt for St. Paul Grill or Meritage next time instead.
New Years Eve menu ... prices raised, food flavorless, presentation poor, but service and staff was good.
We understand food preparation is designed for high volume and quick turnover on New Years Eve but that compromised the food experience. Inconsistent dining experience for us over time have eroded our trust to recommend Kincaid’s to friends.
We love Kincaids and often come here for holidays and special occasions. Food is typically outstanding and service can't be beat. I have to say they missed a beat on New Years this year however. THe food we had would have been good in most other places but did not meet the high standards we have come to know at Kincaids. We felt like our plates likely sat under the lights for a while before being delivered to us. I initially was dissappointed that there where two salmon on the menu and no other fish option, I selected the pork instead and it was very flavorful but a bit dry/overcooked (unusual as it is typically juicy and more toward a perfect medium rare). My date had the prime which is his usual choice, and though also good, it was a bit congealed and a tad too rare for his requested medium rare. We totally understand that this is not the norm and that it was a very busy New Years Eve. We've just gotten spoiled by the typically immaculate meals and experiences we've had here.
We loved that we were seated by a window overlooking the lights as I'd requested and the lobster bisque was delicious. Also great wine suggestions and solid cocktails. We will of course be back.
We went for an early dinner on New Years Eve with five adults and had an outstanding meal. From wine and beer to apps and starts through to our mains, everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything. My father said it was the best prime rib he'd ever had (in over 60 years on earth). The service was even better - attentive and helpful without any snob.
Very disappointing NYE dinner with an odd limited menu, not the usual service level & food was just so so.
Great Cosmopolitan. Great Calamarie. VERY poor fingerling potato veg mix. Excellent Prime rib. very mediocure service. good rasberry cheesecake.
Our server was great but the raw pork chop was not. They did comp it which we appreciated. But the Luke warm soup and appetizers were not ok.
We were celebrating a friend’s new job and it was a wonderful afternoon!
Food and service were fabulous! Highly recommend and will return!
This was a let down. The food was great... No complaints there. Unfortunately the experience issue was not what you'd exist when paying $200-250 for dinner for two. The surf and turf was on par with places like Porterhouse.... The service was more like Applebee's. Our waiter barely came around after we got drinks. We asked for the bread and butter but it didn't come. It just wasn't high end service. Getting a drink at the bar was also very slow.
The other thing that was a disappointment was the extreme draft through the windows. My wife was cold throughout the entire meal. Don't be seated by the windows!
Food was outstanding and service was excellent, first time experience here and will definitely be going back
The service was good and seems well coordinated. The food was very good. I ordered a steak medium-rare and received exactly that, which is never guaranteed. It feels a little cramped and the cost is a bit much for what you get but I would go again and overall recommend it.
Wonderful atmosphere! Wonderful meal!
Not up to typical standards for Kincaid’s. Lobster Bisque was not hot. Bone-in ribeye was fatty and very tough. Service was slow and inattentive. Cocktails however were fantastic. Overall a disappointing experience.
The best part was our bartender! He was super attentive! Great drinks!
2 out of 3 dinners were very fatty. Lamb Chops & NY Strip
There’s no place we’d rather be than at Kincaid’s for our 44th anniversary. From the greeting of our hostess to the parking voucher perfect is the word. We love this place.
Service was great! Slower but nice for good conversation. Thank you!
We were really excited to try this place and saved it for Christmas dinner. They ran out of lobster before we got to order and it was very disappointing. We ordered the special cheesecake for dessert in a hurry because we overheard they were running out of that too.. it was not special at all, very ordinary. The room was beautiful but the service not that great. We had to ask someone else to refill our water.
we were so pleased that this restaurant was open for dinner on Christmas Day (and given that the restaurant was full we weren't the only happy diners). As usual the food was excellent - I had the roasted British Columbia salmon and my companion had the prime rib which was served medium rare as requested and which she found a bit tough. The wine and cocktails were were excellent. The only disappointment was that they initially ran out of two of the standard menu dessert items - burnt cream and key lime pie. They were able to get one serving of burnt cream which we shared but surprising to run out of two standard items. Our server Rebecca was great - super pleasant and she provided excellent service. This restaurant is consistently good and it was a treat to sit and be waited on for Christmas dinner.
Best filia migon I had in my life. Cooked perfectly, tender, best mashed potatoes. Biggest scallops, cooked to perfection. Great wait staff . when I can afford it I'm going back.
Kincaid's service and ambience are always first class. I was disappointed in the rib-eye special on our most recent visit, Christmas Day 2018. The asparagus was tough. It would have been better to include a different vegetable.
My only problem with Kincaid's was that we had a reservation at 2pm but were not aware the door did not open until that time.
We were early and stood outside in cold weather for a while even though we could be seen from inside and they had chairs between the outside door and inside door. Finally someone let us sit in the bar at about 1:50pm.
When confirming the reservation they need to let customers know when the door will be open.
Christmas Day dinner. Outstanding! The food, service and all out joy from all the staff really made our experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. We plan on coming back very soon. Thank you for a beautiful time.
We ate at Kincaids on 12/21 an$ had a terrible table. I felt like I was at the wrong end of a bowling alley.
We ate there again on Christmas Day and had a wonderful table.
Robin, our waitress, was exceptional. We always enjoy going to Kincaids for special occasions. Great food, great environment, great service.
The food was excellent and Bjorn provided great service. We celebrated Christmas with my parents and couldn’t have been happier. We had an array of steaks, seafood and soup and it was all delicious. Kincaids never disappoints.
Food was good but not as good as other restaurants I frequent. Service was okay but several times our water glasses set empty and we only had a couple of check-ins with the waiter.
Our server was very personable and knowledgeable however, several items (including soup) arrived cold. Overall food quality was average at best. I’m not sure if Kincaid’s has had a change of ownership or just a new chef, regardless the food quality has declined significantly. When you couple the quality with the high prices, it is really disappointing. We will not be returning anytime
This was our family Christmas meal out but not much fun. Very noisy, very busy, very slow service, bill was wrong which I didn’t notice until I got home. Won’t be back there anytime soon.
Excellent venue. Highly recommended. We'll be back soon....
Great food, good service and fun atmosphere! I'll definitely be back!
