They allowed a customer with birds and it ruined the experience.
We were disappointed with our dinner on Father's Day. We each decided to order the Prix Fixe menu, and our waiter seemed to be a bit unfamiliar with the offering, which was surprising. They did not have the bottle of wine that I wanted to order, Squealing Pig Sauvignon Blanc, which was disappointing, as the only other NZ Sauvignon Blanc offered was not nearly as good. Our salads came immediately, but unfortunately, before we had received even water or wine...those came when we were 1/2 done with our salads. Then we waited about 20 minutes after salad plates were cleared before we got our entrees. We both ordered the prime rib and prawns...which was fine, but not great. (For one thing, Prawns are NOT the same as shrimp. This meal had three shrimp on the plate.) My BF and I don't eat potatoes, so requested an alternative and were told "I will try." In this day, lots of people don't eat potatoes, so I was put off by the fact that there was a question as to whether a substitution for these could be made. (There was no indication on the Prix Fixe menu that NO substitutions could be made.). We did get spinach, along with the asparagus, so that was appreciated. Dessert, a "molten" lava cake arrived cold, so the "lava" was really pudding, and as a result, even dessert was disappointing. Sadly, service was very uneven. Our waiter was very nice, but the pacing of the meal was off. It is clear that Kincaid's is trying to get staffing up to previous levels, but the restaurant was still about 1/2 empty, and our meal felt like it had not been prepared up to Kincaid's usual standards, which left me quite disappointed, and wondering whether we'll return.
The check at $190 was high considering the overall quality of the food and the service. I'm happy to pay that amount, but had higher expectations, particularly given that I've eaten here several times before.
The parking was the pits! You seem to have changed the Cesar Salad dressing. It was the light lemon taste which was not the dressing I on Mother’s Day in 2020. That dressing had the anchovies & blue cheese taste. The Watermelon Margarita didn’t have much watermelon taste which told me it was not a fresh drink. The pan seared halibut was a little over cooked. And parts of the Father’s Day special steak with prawns was not completely prepared medium well.
Overall, Kincaid’s seem to have lost its touch and it used to be my all time favorite.
It’s always nice to have the greeters say “thanks”.
I guess when you have 3 together they are too busy to thank the customers.
Great Food , Great Service , Highly Recommended !!
The server was attentive, the food was excellent just as I remembered. We had a window table with a lovely view of the ocean.
We had a birthday celebration and server was very preoccupied, took solid ten minutes before anyone even greeted us at table let alone brought water or beverages. We ordered everything immediately since seemed we wouldn’t be seeing her for a while. Food was tasty but again didn’t see server until long after we were done eating, ordered a dessert and mentioned the birthday. Was told a candle would be on dessert, it arrived without one, then she said she was going to get one so we awkwardly waited. The candle never arrived. Didn’t even really want dessert was just trying to have the candle. Someone else dropped off our check, she eventually came back about ten minutes later with a too go dessert with a candle saying she figured we didn’t want a second one and could do it at home ?! Was just very odd to not get an apology and told how we should celebrate.
Food was superb and our server Jennifer was awesome & attentive.
Drinks at bar ahead of dinner very slow. Waiter was good but salads just landed and mains arrived. Thankfully waiter fixed and had mains re-fired. Food was good but nothing special. Not in a hurry to go back.
Celebrating a high school graduation.
Perhaps they need quality help after the pandemic. Waiter was nice but seemed a little green for Kincaid's. They were out of halibut, which we should have been told when he came to take our drink order, I ended up getting the almond covered scallops which were okay, the almond crust peeled off when the scallops were cut into, what's the point? My husband had the ribs he said they were good, However the coleslaw had blue cheese dressing on it, who puts blue cheese on coleslaw? I guess Kincaid's does... Hopefully they get back to the pre-pandemic service values. We will wait awhile to visit again.
We went to kincaid’s Redondo for lunch last Saturday. Disappointed. It was a lot better before. Have the owner changed, or it’s still recovering from the lockdown damage? We’ll wait to go back to that restaurant for a while.
My fish was overcooked. The scallops had no flavor. i waited 10 minutes for lemon slices. The food was not prepared as well as I thought it would be
Excellent food and service. Love it for birthdays and anniversaries.
Wonderful night, and the food was good. The drinks were fantastic. Service was amazing thanks Tamara!
Kincaid’s is usually really good, but they were off their game last night. Service was poor, food was mediocre. I usually love this place, but was dissatisfied this time. I think they’re trying to ick up their pace now that businesses are picking back up. Both our server and bus boy had only worked there a couple of weeks. Given time, I’m sure they’ll be back to their five star ratings.
Enjoyed everything, food delicious, friendly personnel.
The food is really good! Wish there was a little more to choose from but with what has been happening in the world totally understand why they want to keep it to a minimal selection. What they did have was yummy!
I ordered the prime rib which was good. However, the mashed potatoes were terrible. They were over processed and looked like wallpaper paste. Very disappointing for a dinner option at $43-ish dollars!
Kudos to the bartender who made a very decent Lemon Drop Martini!
Don’t know if I would recommend to others…maybe but with my story.
Haven’t been here for over a year. Everything was outstanding as usual. Scallops were wonderful, service was great. We were very comfortable seated inside enjoying the view. Highly recommend.
Great service, good food what else can you ask for.
There were three of us that had dinner. It took forever to get our order submitted, our food, and our check.
Food was not hot. I ordered a medium rare filet mignon and there was no blood or juice on the plate. Are you rinsing it before serving? It is making it less palatable and chilling it too much
The ambiance was nice. Our server was very attentive.
This is our favorite place to go. We can't miss it every time my family visits.
Waiter was professional and made the experience positive
This was the first time since COVID and new ownership that we returned to Kincaid. It just wasn’t the same. Limited selection of menu items. Rewards program requires you to pay $25 upfront that we didn’t do on our old rewards. We lost all our points also. This may be our last return. It used to be our spot. Not anymore.
Love the view from outside seating! We are return customers!
Excellent food, service and ambience!
All of servers were so nice and great service. We had a wonderful time there.
Our waiter was the best!
Have been going to Kincaid’s for years. Definitely not up to their pre Covid standards. Disappointing to say the least.
The chili prawns with cheese grits was an outstanding combination. The warm chocolate cake was a great dessert and a generous slice, which we shared. We love the champagne/ sparkling wine selections, and they are always ice-cold, as they should be! A wonderful evening—
Wonderful experience. Awesome food, great service!
Strawberry daiquiri, lemon drop, artichoke and crab dip.
Its the best!
To sum things up I requested a window seat which we were given but they also asked if there's a special occasion for the visit and I stated yes; a birthday BUT nothing on their side even addressed this event and I wasn't about to ask as I have some form of integrity.
So because of this vs. other reservations I have placed with other reputable restaurants, I am giving them a lower review.
If it's a Covid related issue then... OPENTABLE should not ask if there is a special occasion and having their patrons believing that something small would be done to address the occasion. I wasn't looking for something free but at least recognition would've been nice.
A bit disappointed in both Opentable and Kincaid's as I have dined there many times before and we usually receive at least a greeting.
Other than this the experience was good overall.
Excellent outdoor dining experience! Beautiful views and delicious food.
The food is tasty but the best part of going here is the view.
