Kincaid's - Redondo Ratings and Reviews
I’ve dined at Kincaids fairly regularly over the past 10 years or so. Typically the seafood is pretty good. Tonight I dined with a colleague from out of town and two co-workers. Two of us ordered 2 separate salmon plates from the specials, one had the Tuna and another had the Filet. The Filet was okay as was the Tuna. However, both Salmon dishes, prepared two completely different ways, were terrible. Even the bok choy with my salmon was bad. I hope tonight was an anomaly. If not I’ll have no reason to return. Based on my experience, most nights will be fine, but for me I’ll think twice before making my next reservation. A place at this price point should be consistent.
I had been to Kincade's several years ago and took my mom for her birthday. The resturant location is great and easy to get to. Service is outstanding. The food (I had the filet mignon) was okay. I think with a little better quality food it would be amazing. I probably will not return. There are too many other options in the area. Too low of quality for the price. My husand has the prime ride which was suppose to be their specaility, it was fatty and tough. Unfortunate.
It’s been awhile since my wife and I️ have been here. We were happy with the new menu choices. She has a Asiago Almond Crusted Chicken, and I️ had the sirloin and prawns. The food was amazing and the service was the best we’ve ever had. Our food arrived timely and we were checked on frequently by our server.
I selected this restaurant because they participate in the Open Table program and allegedly (per the OT Website), accept OT Gift Cards up to a max of $50. I and OT representative (Ivan) even called the restaurant and confirmed. When I finished dinner and attempted to pay with my OT Gift Card, I was told their card reader would not accept it and the restaurant Mgr Bettany told me this is a known problem and they've asked OT to remove them from their list of participating restaurants. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and frustrated to have incurred unnecessary out of pocket expenses and strongly suggest OT get this matter sorted out with Kindcaid's restaurant so other diners are not similarly impacted.
We booked, turned up ten minutes early and in a less than packed restaurant were sat down 10 minutes late. We gave two pieces of information before arriving. It was a birthday meal. Ignored. One of us is gluten intolerant, we had to tell them that, as no mention made by the staff. There was a reasonable drinks menu, and we ate well enough but special occasions are meant to be special, and this wasn't. Then they gave us the wrong bill!
The service felt very rushed. Our server would ask if everything was okay as she was already walking away. She was forgetful and a bit unfocused on our table. We had mentioned it was our wedding anniversary and nothing special was given. We have been coming here for 10 plus years and must say this was far below our expectations. The pluses are the sunset view, decor/ambiance and delicious dessert.
The Hostess said they would seat the other members of our group when they arrived. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I went to the entrance and my guests were sitting waiting to be seated. The Hostess did not seat them as they said they would. My friends arrived about 3 minutes after we were seated. I guess the Hostess has a very short memory span.
Dinner for four. Order included: 2 prim ribs (medium rare); Steamed Live Lobster; Salmon; Calamari appetizer; and, two martini drinks. Price was excellent but food, not so much! Prim rib very dry and not tender, salmon very dry, and lobster chewy and not very favorable. Service was excellent; drinks were very good and bread was very delicious. This was our second visit within the past four months. First visit everything was very good that's why we made the second visit. Perhaps the food on second visit was an anomaly. Willing to give them another try.
First off, we love this place: it's close to our house, has a great view of the water, the food & drinks are good and the service is USUALLY good...but not this time. I was so disappointed that I didn't leave a tip & I am typically an over-tipper having worked as a server in my college days. For a restaurant with so much staff, I received such lackluster service. I don't want the server to lose her job, but she was pretty terrible. She didn't listen to anything I asked for, she never introduced herself nor did she tell us the specials. The appetizer took a very long time to come because it seemed that she had forgotten to get it since it came out cold. Our meals also took a very long time to arrive & also not piping hot as it should arrive. The server also forgot to bring my husband a steak knife which took me a very long time to get even though I asked multiple staff members. This happened throughout the meal for many other things, including something as simple as getting a water for the table. The table next to us who had a different server had a much better experience because their server was very attentive & professional.
Absolutely AhhhMazing! Surprised my Finance with Dinner here to Celebrate his Birthday! The Waiter was awesome and the food was yummy. We also ordered Wine and it was to die for! We had never been to this restaurant but we will be back. We Loved the Ambiance and views.
As always, Kincaid's offers a better dinning experience. I made reservations and was an hour later than expected, Kincaid's called me when I was already 30 mins late, I apologized to them for the delay and when I did arrive an hour late they sat us as if we were on time. Service was very slow to start, but the beverage, food and atmosphere made up for it. This is a nice place to sit, relax, enjoy the conversation with your group. The pasta I ordered was great. Overall a very nice experience. Just keep in mind this is a place to sit and enjoy the food and company, not one of those places that you rush in to eat and go.
The service was less that stellar. Even though we had a reservation we were left waiting 15 minutes for our table. And the restaurant was half full! There were PLENTY of open tables! The food took 45 minutes from time of order to arrive. We actually had to ASK our waiter after 30 minutes to look in on our order, and it was 15 minutes after THAT that we finally got our food. The restaurant is going in the wrong direction IMHO. They used to be known for their awesome service and extensive menu options. Now they have more wines/cocktails than food choices. Between the service going downhill and the menu choices disappearing, I don't know that I'll be back. And since most of the tables were still empty when we left, It appears others agree with me.
