Kincaid's - Redondo

Have loved Kincaid’s for years. Right now, however, it is almost inaccessible due to massive reconstruction of the parking garage. We were not warned in advance that it would be a long walk for my elderly mother from the alternate parking area.

First, I don't write a review like a food critic. I think that the fact that I'm going to tell you that we thoroughly enjoyed the meal would be a good start. Second, the service was excellent. My wife and I have already shared our enjoyable experience with family and friends alike. I'm hoping that the next time we decide to frequent your establishment that the construction will be complete. We have been there before and we will be back.
I have always loved this place. Each time I go, I order something different because I know I'll like it.
After making a reservation months in advance for New Years Eve, for the first time in over 20 years of enjoying this restaurant, I was disappointed. Instead of being seated in the main dining room we were escorted to the lounge. We were seated in front of the patio door so every time someone came in or out we froze. The TVs were on and like most sports bars the guests were loud. We weren’t offered bread, or drink refills. The limited menu was mediocre and they were out of the one thing I selected by 6:30. I am so sad, I have fond memories of the many times I’ve dined there on New Years Eve and throughout the years. Time to find another favorite place.
It's a tradition for my wife and me to have dinner at Kincaides on New Years eve. I thought the food was better this year than last and was quite delicious. The menu is limited on NYE so I always miss the French Onion soup, but thar said, the meal was excellent. I had the Waugu beef and it and the sides were piping hot and really tasty. My wife had scallops and loved them. Service was excellent. The cheesecake topped with chocolate cake was so scrumptious...yum.
We go to Kincaids several timee a year this was a great start.
Service was excellent, they have perfected taking just the right number of reservations and the timely turning over of tables. There were no people standing around waiting to be seated, despite the fact it was New Year’s Eve! Service was friendly, we were seated immediately. Our waiter was perfectly attentive-not too much, not too little. Food was good. Little too salty for me, but that’s the usual at restaurants. I had the bone-in beef rib and prawns, my friend had the filet. Her filet was perfectly cooked to her specifications. We went elsewhere for dessert but think maybe we should have tried it there :) next time! The only thing I would recommend is that they add some vegetarian/vegan options. It’s not difficult to offer a seared tofu plate and pasta dish...I suppose this isn’t the place people go looking for vegan options, though.
Family New Years Eve dinner. Food was excellent, as expected. Been coming to this restaurant for years. Food has always been good.
A great place to watch the sunset on the last day of the year. The service and the food were excellent.
On this, our first visit, we were absolutely delighted with the menue, the quality of the dishes, and -- especially -- the gracious, attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff. We'll be back for sure!
Kincaids is a favorite! Beautiful setting, great ambiance, food, service, and a reasonable corkage fee.
It was great to find such a lovely place open on Christmas Day with very attentive service.
The dinner service was very slow. We sat down and ordered shortly. We had soup and then waited another 20 minutes for the appetizer. Then waited about another 20-30 minutes for the entree to come out. So over an hour after we sat down for the dinner entree.
I still enjoy the breakfast and lunch at Kincaids and service is not too bad then. But the last several times I had dinner there the service was extremely slow that I don't think I'll be doing dinner there anymore. Sadly to say it was my favorite restaurant in Redondo Beach, but the dinners have been very disappointing in the last year or two and it's no longer my favorite restaurant unfortunately.
Starting with the La Crema bottle of Pinot Noir and a salad. The Salad was crisped healthy around with sliced almonds and very tasty. To no fault of their own, our choice of wine was disappointing. We went with Christmas Prime roasted rib 16 ounce cut with sides of mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. The prime rib was excellent and sides delivered on point tasty and cooked perfect. Lime pie was spot on and service was very nice and timely.
First time in a restaurant for Christmas and we we more than pleased with everything from the martini to the scallops.
Kincaid’s has been our annual Christmas dinner for years. Each year tops the year before. The food, service and ambiance was up to its great standard. See you next year!
We enjoyed a lovely Christmas dinner. Our waiter, Roy, was fantastic. The food made everyone happy and full.
Second year coming for Christmas dinner. The holiday menu contained tasteful dishes. Our server was great, never felt unattended to. The wait with reservations is minimal. The view was lovely. Can't wait to go back.
Very dissatisfied with a big element: we reserved a table a week before and when we arrived we were seated at two rounds in bar.
The food was good, the Service/Server was great but seating a group for Xmas dinner is NOT OK!
I hope management reads this
We had a marvelous Christmas Day lunch at Kincaid’s, with a gorgeous view of the Pacific. We ordered off regular menu (slightly smaller than daily menu) and had excellent service, reasonably priced wine and entrees, and overall an excellent experience, as always. Kincaid’s is unique in all of LA County bc it sits above the waves where (if outside) you can hear and see and smell the ocean. We come here often for happy hour, for lunch and dinner, and for special occasions. We usually bring out-of-town guests here, too. Menu always has great seafood and steak choices, plus salads, soups, veggies and a great bar that makes interesting cocktails.
This was an unacceptable dining experience.
1)Lobster bisque was not served warm, I advised server & was ignored.
2)Wrong entree brought to table- after 18 minutes I had to ask where replacement was.
3)Brussels sprouts not cooked-raw-inedible.
There was no acknowledgement or apology from staff even though the above issues were brought to their attention.
I wrote an email to Kincaid's corporate contact site & was ignored there as well.
Additionally, the 2.9% Living Wage surcharge is an annoyance.
I hadn't been to Kincaid's for awhile and had forgotten how good it is! I had the lobster on Christmas Eve and it was delicious!!! I was served a generous portion that was moist and tender, it came with ample fingerling potatoes and roasted vegetables. Our server was friendly and efficient too. I definitely will not wait so long to go back!
Great location, right on the water. The servie was very good, but the food was overpriced for the quality. The prime rib was neither the best nor the worst I have ever had, but priced toward the best end oif the scale. The fish dishes seem to be better. The noise level was moderate, at least you could have a normal conversation without shouting.
Our server was exceptional! The food is always excellent here. We love the fish dishes. It's a tad noisy at times; we had a large party seated behind us and they were celebrating pretty well....
We will definitely come back soon!
Outstanding experience and "Fred" the waiter was the most professional waiter I've encountered in years (in The South Bay anyway). Bravo!
Our server Yadira is outstanding. Attentive, but not overbearing service.
Kincaid’s did not accept Landry’s gift card. I had to use my credit card. Surprise! We could have gone to another Landry’s restaurant that accepts gift cards.
Annual Christmas dinner with my former friends from work
We enjoyed the food very much. We started with the crab appetizer; I ordered the scallops; my husband & sister ordered the surf & turf which was short ribs with prawns, my cousin had a steak, & my uncle ordered the meatloaf Wellington. We were all too full to make it to dessert.
Has been one of our favorite restaurant for many years. Always great food and service. Really careful for special dietary needs.
This is the most remarkable place, incredible staff. Our son has autism and was fixated on having onion rings. The waiter, Mark, explained that onion rings were not on the menu so we ordered fries. When the meal arrives, there was a pile of freshly made onion rings on my son's plate. The incredible thoughtfulness of Mark and the chef nearly brought me to tears. We live 20 miles away in West LA but this is now THE place for us in the South Bay.
Too expensive for the quality of food. Lobster wasn't hot, steak was mediocre, root vegetables were chewy. The best part was the garlic bread.
Steak was overdone and poor quality. Some sides did not arrive with main course.
We hadn't been to a Kincaids in years, but we were in Hermosa Beach for Thanksgiving and decided to try the Redondo Beach Kincaids. We all thought that the selection of menu items and the quality were much better than food at the one we visited near the SF Airport about 7 years ago! We will now have to go back and try our local one again, as we were very pleased with the Redondo Beach Kincaids.
Kincaid's is the best for holiday dining! Thanksgiving was delicious and lovely!
Leonardo was a terrific server and Thanksgiving dinner was perfect.
The special turkey dinner was wonderful. The turkey was very moist and so was the stuffing. Think the $32 for the dinner was a bit high.
Everything was wonderful!! Will definitely be returning..😉
