Very accommodating staff! Very helpful and service orientated. Very professional, but yet very cordial. We were a group of 8 and we all had a great time. Definitely, we will return to Ryan's when Kincaid's move to Ryan's. Keep all of your staff!
Last call before closing end of May. Will miss this place. Great gathering place for locals. Best crab dip, French onion soup and pea salad. Aloha Kincaids!
We have eaten at Kincaid's on every visit to Honolulu (once or twice a year) for 15 years. It is a favorite of ours and we requested our favorite waiter - Aaron - who has been there for eleven years. Our evening was great and Arron was outstanding as always! Sadly he informed us that Kincaid's is closing at the end of this month. A victim of all the new construction projects in Honolulu. Arron told us there is a plan for some of the staff and some of the menu items to transfer to a nearby restaurant - Ryan's. I certainly hope they keep the Broadway Pea Salad, the French onion soup, the meat loaf and the Seafood Louie Salad! Also, if Ryan's is lucky, Aaron will work for them! We hope so. We'll give Ryan's a chance and we'll certainly look for Aaron! For now we are grieving the loss of a very favorite place. Farewell Kincaid's and thank you for 15 wonderful years of good food, great service, and wonderful memories!
Sorry to see this Restaurant closing. Unfortunately, this closing has shrunk the menu and many favorites are no longer offered. Prime rib is still awesome!
Had Mother's Day lunch mid-afternoon, the earliest we could get a reservation on short notice. The food and service were as good as usual, although clearly the staff was stretched quite thin. Our server Ronnie did a great job under the circumstances. She's a mother, working on Mother's Day with a smile and true aloha.
We're glad we went. Found out that Kincaid's is closing at the end of May. It will merge with Ryan's at Ward Centre. Gonna miss this place.
Really enjoyed the dining experience. We've been coming here for almost all of our special occasions for the last forty years since it was horiato's. Really sad it's closing.
Harbor view the best. Food was delicious. Service by all welcoming and efficient.
My only complaint ... and its a big one... is that you are closing! And not reopening on Oahu... W H Y???
The atmosphere was good and the service was ok. They seemed to be understaffed and the receptionist told a small group in front of us that they were all booked up and had to sit at the bar when the restaurant was no more than half full the entire time we were there. The portions were tasty, but small, and the waiter said all the right things, but wasn't around much. We had to ask for more bread and he only brought a small amount more for a party of 12! Sad that they are going and not planning to reopen somewhere, but if they do, they have to work on service attention and value. Too bad as it is a place of memories for all of us!
Sad that the restaurant is closing and staff is slowly leaving. New servers, service slower because of that.
Sad, but with it's closure, the quality of food has gone down. French onion soup, tasted like it came out of can. No oysters. Wife had stomach ache after dinner. Not the same as in the past.
Really enjoyed the food! Sad to know they're closing for good!
Too bad Kincaid's is leaving Honolulu. This long time landmark (previously Horatio's) offers the right mix of style and informality to make it a fun place to get together with friends or for a business meal. The artichoke and crab dip is a signature appetizer. Their clam chowder is always good and the French Dip helps to provide for varied fare that includes seafood and meats. Kincaid's will be missed.
It is my favorite restaurant with my favorite server, Rae. Awesome food, great location & awesome staff members. Great view of the sunset.
Very disappointed with menu items for the ridiculous high prices. Food and presentation was nothing special, no WOW factor. Prime Rib was returned, shouldn't have been served in the first place. They offered soup but that doesn't make the situation better when they charge high prices and don't perform. We have been patrons for their 40 years and wanted to visit the last last time. The waitress tried to be pleasant. The restaurant was empty and odd because there was practically no availability when I made the reservation. Restroom was dirty and falling apart.
Due to future development of the area, this restaurant will soon be no more. Sadly, instead of going out with the same quality of food, they've descended into the blah. The prime rib was average. Burger with bacon was loose & tasteless. The burnt cream was cool & not warm making the sugar crust so thick & hard I couldn't eat it. The ambience of the restaurant was the same, wonderful & our waitress was friendly & sweet. It seemed like she was serving most of the tables but was positive & kind.
Sadly, this restaurant can go the ways of the other long time local restaurants that have closed. They lost their desire to continue making the quality food they were known for & have completely given up. Aloha, Kincaid's. Glad I was able to visit you a few years ago when you were in the top 10 list of local restaurants.
Good prime rib. Wedge of lettuce salad was good too. Can be busy, try reservations.
We were celebrating three birthdays in our family and wanted to go to an establishment that we've been to many times that had the perfect ambience and great food. Kincaid's has never let us down! Our waiter was excellent!
This Kincaids has been a favorite for years. Sadly, the area housing the restaurant is slated for redevelopment and this place may be history soon. Try it soon. We had the ahi and the scallops. Both were excellent and the dessert was a trademark burnt creme (creme brulee). Wonderful. Our waitress was attentive and the orders were as requested
Restrictive menu because it is closing May 13. Still some very nice choices. Service was excellent. No feeling rushed. Waiter was very good, personable and friendly. Has 2 birthday celebrations, and they provided a birthday dessert for them.
Our once-a-month retired group goes to different restaurants every month. Kincaid's is one of our favorites. We are very sad that it is closing.
I am also very sad that Nicki is no longer with them. She was the best, calls everyone by their name, really makes you feel special.
Ronnie gave us great service , as usual. So pleasant, energetic, efficient , a great example of aloha! She is why we return!
French onion was salty.
We went because the restaurant was closing. We had an early seating at 5:15, party of 5, we were told the prime rib was not going to be med. rare which is the reason we went. Waitress said she would try her best to get it as rare as possible. My son ordered the Kincaid cut which is the most expensive cut, his was well done. Very disappointing, especially for that price.
So sad to see the end of Kincaid's as of the end of May....
I will truly miss Kincaids. The location is wonderful. There are very few local restaurants with a beautiful harbor view. I wish the restaurant would reopen in the fishermen's wharf location across the street.
As always great service and food. Will miss the service, view and location
Going to miss that place just because it was a great location. And a beautiful restaurant. Food went down hill. Our server was great but the manager was terrible when he was helping her.
We were served our wine 5 minutes after the main dish was on the table.
That was because my wife, age 49, was asked to show her ID which she didn't carried with her.
Is asking to people over age 40 to show their ID usual?
It was her first time to be asked like that in these 15 years.
Prime rib was cooked rare, even though it was ordered medium rare. Broccolini was also undercooked -- very tough.
Grilled chicken in the penne dish was actually rubbery and didn't taste like chicken.
Bread was good, and lettuce was fresh, but
We wanted to try Kincaid's for the last time before it closes down, but unfortunately didn't enjoy the food. We enjoyed Kincaid's in many years past, but sadly I think its time has come.
Excellent service, excellent food and excellent value!
We always love the food!
I am so sad that Kincaid's is being forced out just so we can have yet another condo going up.
I enjoy everything about the restaurant. The manager is terrific. The wait staff are very accommodating and make the dining experience an excellent one.
Sad that they closed. This was a special place for my son and me. We ate there a lot. It was one of his most favorite restaurants to go to.
As always, superb!!! There is too little words to say when food and service are that great. They treat you like family!!!
I liked my crab sandwich and blue cheese salad. I think the iced tea is over priced.
Just so sorry that this restaurant is going by the wayside and not reopening at another location. It has the best and one of the few Louie's in the Islands. It has always been one of my regular go to restaurants for so many years.
Prime rib and mash potato were extremely salty and dry.
The place is beautiful and the staff is super friendly, but what I really want to talk about is this MAC-N-CHEESE. It is creamy and warm as with a sweet cornbread crumble on top. It is an awesome balance of savory and sweet in one bite! 😍😍😍
The service was excellent although the wait was a little long.
I wish there would have been a grilled fish option.
We're sad to hear that you'll be closing. Mahalo for the wonderful service and food over the years. Hawaii will definitely miss your staff and restaurant. Malama pono.
I go here often for both lunch and dinner. Never disappointed! They are particularly good with fish!o
