Celebrated my birthday with one of my best friends! Love the atmosphere at Kincaids! I had prime rib which was excellent! My friend had a chicken pasta dish & she really enjoyed it. We split the Maytag salad. It was really good. A little bit pricey but for the food quality, ambiance & wait staff service, it’s worth it. Also my waiter Patrick brought me a free dessert & birthday card too with complimentary appetizer for next visit! Wow! One of my best birthday dinners at a restaurant! Thank you Patrick & Kincaids!
Birthday event, 92 years old guest. Great service (including offering to take photo), good food too (with terrific creme brûlée!)
Two steaks out of 5 had to be sent back so while 3 of us are two had to wait for their food, that is frustrating.
Celebrated 2 birthdays and family together. Gluten-free food was delicious. Friendly and helpful service. This is one of our favorite places.
The food was good and the service was excellent.
My walleye was over cooked, husband's steak was tender but no flavor, friend had pork chop that should have been marinated more ,she felt. We will not be returning with the prices so high for such poor quality.
Right at the top: our server was AMAZING. Just the right amount of checking in and allowed us to enjoy our meal with our any awkward or inauthentic social interactions. She was fantastic.
The food was great. No complaints there.
What I didn’t quite understand when I made the reservation was that the restaurant is in the middle of a corporate office tower. No joke. That was my fault for blindly trusting the OT suggestion and not verifying it against a different app.
TL;DR — awesome place to go to swoon business associates (don’t forget your sweet frequent eater points membership card! They’ll ask you at the table). Not so much for an intimate 40th birthday dinner with your boyfriend.
Excellent work! I really don't have much more to add...
This is our "Go To" restaurant for all special occasions including anniversaries, birthdays, Thanksgiving & Easter, Sunday Brunch and out-of-town visitors. We've never been disappointed!
Kincaid’s used to be on our favorite list but each time we visit it drops down. Menu options limited. My wife ordered scallops and they were so few and so tiny she could hardly find them on the plate. Prime rib is no longer anything special. Waiter brought us the wrong bottle of wine which turned out to be more expensive. Don’t know if we will ever return. So many places now so much better. We miss the Kincaid’s of the past.
Our dining experience was exceptional. Quiet table (rare for Kincaid’s), attentive staff, great food and service. Orders were taken in a timely fashion and food was delivered promptly. Best New York strip I have had in quite awhile. A bit pricey, but for a special occasion, we would consider going back.
I no longer live in Minnesota, but when I come back, I always try to go to Kincaids.
We recently received a gift card after having a very poor Valentines Day food experience at the Kincaid’s in St. Paul. The fact that they sent us an nrewiested gift card is noble but we chose to use it at the Bloomington Kincaid’s to see if the experience was better. It was marginally.
The food was Ok, with the appetizer of crab and artichoke dip leading the way. The lobster bisque was tasty but cold by the time it was served. My wife’s fish and chips were ok but the fries were cold and just as mediocre as we experience in St. Paul. (They have no idea as to how to do high end fries.)
My Wagyu meatloaf was just okay, but for $21 you would think it wouldn’t have been cold on the inside, and laid upon cold mashed potatoes. Obviously, our food sat in the window for some time since the outside was warm and the insides were definitely cool.
With this said, everything was edible and at least all the menu items were available here, unlike the last experience. However, high end prices fo not result in high end food offerings at either Kincaid’s during lunch. I do not know why both have gone downhill but these are no longer a good lunchtime value option in the Twin Cities.
Time to give up on these for us.
I have had the best meals anywhere at kincaid's. They made Brussel sprouts taste good - that's magic.
Hadn't been here for several years...still a solid choice for dinner. My wife's tenderloin was outstanding. My medium rare prime rib could have been more tender, however, it had excellent flavor. Kincaid's pea salad is still as good as ever - almost worth the trip for that alone!
Love Kincaids - my only regret was the scallops have been taken off the regular menu and the ones that were on special were good, but not nearly as good as the others. Overall love it. And our service was outstanding.
We had a very nice dinner for four on a Monday evening. It was busier than usual for a Monday, probably because others, like us, rescheduled to avoid the weekend snowstorm. The menu has enough variety without so many options you get overwhelmed. All items are special enough to make going out to dinner worth it, without being so precious and full of weird ingredients that you don't really want to eat them. In other words, a delicious evening out.
Besides this dinner, I have been there several times for lunch, and everything on the lunch menu is delicious as well.
Kincaids is our go to place for special occasions. On our recent visit, however, the service was awful! We made a 5:15 reservation and unfortunately our guest of honor did not show until 5:45. Our server did not take our dinner order until 6:30! She virtually ignored us and claimed she did not take our order because we were not all seated. (My husband had been up looking for her twice to take our order). It took 40 minutes to get our food (I think she forgot to put the order in.). We finally left at 7:45. Ugh! The worst service I have experienced anywhere in a long time and so sad because it distracted us from our celebration!
Bad menu item. Lamb was not a well cooked item
I personally love the clams and roasted vegetables. I like that it is quiet enough to carry on a conversation with your friends. I also like the fact that it is very sunny with many windows and the a calming running water pool.
We had a lovely dinner with excellent service. We will be back!
Great time everything was first class Keep it up The food was great
I went for resturant week. The menu I saw online was different from when we arrived. It took about 10m for anyone to come to our table. The waiter did let us know he had a large party coming and we should get our order in. The portion of the desery was not the reegular portion. I thought the value was poor. I think that resturant week should be what a normal dinning experience would be.
Server was very good, but the food was mediocre. Food arrived at our table barely lukewarm. I might excuse this at, say, a chain restaurant like Appleby’s, but not at a high-priced, esteemed restaurant like Kincaid’s.
Steak was seasoned perfectly but a bit overcooked. Waitstaff was pleasant without being overbearing. A bit difficult to find as it is located in an office park, one of 4 towers that is not directly facing Normandale. Overall, 4 stars out of 5.
While the waiter was wonderful, the remainder of the experience left some room for improvement. There was a 15 person group seated in an alcove near the main area, and apparently they overwhelmed the kitchen, as the 8 tables around us and ours Sat without food for 45 minutes between salad and entree. We finally asked for a manager, who came out with our food! (But not the nearby tables'). As the entrees arrived, we asked for the check and our dessert to go, as it was apparent that even after 90 minutes, that they hadn't caught up.
While a semi regular diner at Kincaid’s, especially their terrific happy hour, we decided to try their restaurant week special. My prime rib, ordered medium rare was barely over 70 degrees with no sign of sear. They immediately offered to replace but that one was only a little warmer. The key lime pie had a half inch of filling and three inches of whipped cream. The sides were terrific as was the service. I will certainly come back to order off their regular menu as well as enjoying their happy hour.
Ordered off the Restaurant Week menu...the food was spectacular!! Service was great. Our server - Sarah - was fabulous!
Restaurant week limited menu choices were super! We had 2 variety salmon preparations which were delicious. Great service from hostesses, waiters and help staff. Thanks for an excellent dinner date at a reasonable price!
Grandma enjoyed her birthday, even though she had to buy for the rest of the family. This was four out of five birthdays she has wanted to go here -- must like it.
Wonderful food and service. The prime rib was great.
Was there during restaurant week. We were treated in the same manner as when we are there for the regular menu. Great place, great food.
We enjoyed our restaurant week dinner ! Fabulous !
We went for Restaurant Week and very much enjoyed the menu selection. The server was very attentive and jovial. The Brie was amazing! The only downside is sitting next to the water fountain is very loud and a bit annoying.
There were 7 of us for brunch. Booked ahead and restaurant wasn't busy, however service was incredibly slow. We ordered a variety of menu items and all were underwhelming. 3 orders of Chilaquiles, and each of them were dry and lacking flavor. The Prime Rib Hash was more like stew. The Bloody Mary's were good. We would go back to the bar for happy hour, but will not be back for brunch.
Everything was great we had a good time.
It was a very wonderful evening for our family's celebration. The food and ambiance were great. I'd go there more, but it's too expensive for regular visits. It's fun as a "treat".
Brilliant food and service from LJ , server for the past thirty years of our patronage. We love Kincaid’s steaks and seafood.
Dined on Feb 16th, 2018 with my wife. My wife and I first ordered a cocktail and an appetizer. The appetizer was very good but the cocktails were very poor. I had two drinks gin/tonic. the first had, what seemed like, no gin. The second was so strong I could not enjoy it but put up with it. My wife ordered the lobster tails and found the tails, two five ounce, five ounce probably including the shells so meat portion was very small. Fifty dollars was excessive. I had the 10 oz filet mignon and was a big disappointment. The steak was almost cool and was maybe one inch thick. I ordered it med/rare and it came to me a very light pink bordering on medium. Cooked as it was it was still cool when served. The service was fine but with tax and tip the cost of our dinner was $220.00 well overpriced.
Excellent service and wonderful food!
