I haven't been to Kincaids in quite some time.
Two people ordered the Walleye special, which was very good.
One ordered Salmon, it was "so so, nothing special".
I ordered Prime Rib. It was very "chewy" and not very flavorful at all.
Cocktail were very skimpy in size for the price.
As always, Kincaid's is a wonderful, classy, quiet place that we tremendously enjoy escaping into when we want a delicious dinner, chance for soft conversation, and just to relax. Strongly recommend.
We had a great meal and Josh gave us wonderful service
The food was outstanding along with great service. The place is still a little quite but picking back up.
Great food and nice environment. Didn’t like the living wage fee added to a $300.00 bill.
Birthday dinner
There was an issue with the first drink I ordered then I didn’t even want to drink the new drink. I tried the French dip sandwich and didn’t like it at all. The fries were good. Stick to the walleye or cheeseburger and you can’t go wrong. They need new drink choices
Food is okay than last time we have visited. My husband and I usually celebrate his birthday here but this time, dinner food is not much flavor only claim chowder soup was very good. Overall, everything just okay nothing more or less.
Great waiter (who said he normally served as the bartender) - service and food - all excellent! COVID care - it showed in all that Kincaid's did.
Great experience as always!
We came on Sunday celebrating a friend's birthday. I figured Sunday is a quiet day and we had a semi-booth with no one near us. The restaurant was nice and quiet. I never enjoy eating with a lot of noise. Our waiter Jordan came right over, answered our questions, told us the specials and took our beverage orders. He was quite efficient as our beverages came in very short time. I had recommended the scallops dinner as I had it about a month ago. Three of my guests ordered it and I ordered the salmon special. Everything was absolutely delicious. One of the guests commented it was the best restaurant dinner she ever had. Service was wonderful. My birthday friend was given a creme brulee for a complimentary birthday dessert. We all took a spoon of it. It was delicious. Highly recommend coming back.
The Bleu Cheese salad was outstanding, my prime rib was tender but parts were 'tough' - probably gristle. Potatoes excellent; asparagus stalks not so much.
Waiter was pleasant, HOWEVER, I'm really annoyed with staff using 'we' in conversation - such as 'what are we thinking of for our entree' or 'are we thinking of enjoying one of our delicious desserts' .
I realize this kind of 'dialogue' is very common, and that I am probably in a very small minority, but I resent the artificial familiarity.
In the past a dessert was included as a gratuity when celebrating an anniversary.
Not trashing, just pointing out a few things that were different than with past visits.
Thanks!
Our waiter was terrific! Food great and everything perfect! Our first real date out in a while and it was a hit!
The food was good with great service. Prices a little high.
Always enjoy Kincaids
Have to say that Jerry our waiter was phenomenal. Very nice, courteous and knowledgeable. He checked on us often to ensure we were having a fantastic evening. The clam chowder and the bread was amazing. Wife & I had the salmon and it was awesome. Hot Toddy and Brandy Alexander were probably the best drinks that we have had out in a long time. Restaurant was very clean and felt very safe. Appreciated one of the other servers asking her customer to put his mask on while ordering. We definitely will be back again very soon!
Waitstaff was particularly helpful accommodating my wish for patio seating. A recent snowfall meant all the patio furniture had been removed. But the unseasonably warm weather following made the patio attractive again. So just for us the staff rolled out a table and chairs from the lounge! What a November treat! Thanks so much!
The experience was wonderful.
Jerry our waiter was phenomenal. Very nice, courteous and knowledgeable. He checked on us often to ensure we were having a fantastic experience. Looking forward to coming back!
Unfortunately, it does not appear Kincaid's Bloomington has solved the COVID puzzle. During the past 3 months, we have dined at this Kincaid's 3 times. Each time we were wishing both the breadth of the menu as well as the quality of food preparation would incrementally improve. Sadly, this is not the case.
At this visit, my wife's clam chowder arrived too cool to be enjoyed. In addition, the wallpaper paste-like consistency and taste was unbecoming. Her steak sandwich was also served at a sub-optimal temperature with poor taste profile. Accompanying fries were o.k.
The coating on my almond crusted scallops was so thick as to mask the taste of the scallops. I found removing it before eating the scallops was a better way to go. However, minus the coating, the scallops lacked the firm sear which makes for a great dish.
Cocktails and wine were fine. Coffee hot, black and better than anticipated.
While we had hoped to continue to support Kincaid's throughout COVID Times, because of our repeatedly disappointing meals, we have decided to suspend that effort.
It was a birthday lunch for me, and we got a complementary crème Brule. The waitress was wonderful. Knew when to be there and when not. Great space and ambiance.
From start to finish, from all aspects, our experience was a home-run, led by professional, kind, attentive and talented managers, wait staff and chefs. Further, we felt extremely safe after witnessing all CDC virus health safety rules and guidelines implemented fully and effectively during our dining experience; our first indoor dining experience since February 2020, chosen by design. Thank you, Kincaids!
I had the special three course meal. The mussels and lobster bisque were very good. Sadly, the main course of scallops were too salty to eat. The manager made another order to take home. Since Landry’s has taken over ownership, overall quality has dropped a notch. Hopefully, they will get back to the Kincaids I’m used to.
The ambiance was nice and romantic for our anniversary dinner. We both had the 3 coarse seafood special. We both had the scallops for our third choice. we thought the rock salt was to much and overpowering on the scallops! The rest was good.
To me, the salmon was a little over cooked. Meal was fine otherwise.
Went out to eat here over the weekend. Service ok, food less than good. The filet was the best thing we ordered, prime rib and salmon not good at all. Just ok.
Turn down the music! We come to chat not listen to a concert of your canned music! Otherwise A plus!!
Been going to Kincaids for years. Food this time was mediocre at best.
Awesome food, great service! Always a fantastic time!
INCREDIBLE HIDDEN GEM!! A new favorite
I would highly recommend Kinkaid's - service, quality of food, cleanliness, and value are the reasons I would list this as one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities!
The food is incredible and the staff is so caring and really makes you feel special!
We took advantage of an e-mail coupon that offered a 3 course meal for $35.00 which included choice of salad and desert each. I had the prime rib and it was excellent. My wife had the walleye which she said was done perfect. The service was just wonderful and the spacing between the table made us feel super comfortable. The dining area is very open with a soaring ceiling and lots of air movement. Great experience!
clam chowder was wonderful, we had the walleye and prime rib, both done to perfection, and the keylime pie , to die for, wonderful restraunt
The food has changed so much - FAIR at best. Sitting by a window that was cold and breezy - just a totally different experience since Landrys has been involved. I'm putting down that I would recommend because there was a Yes or No - I'd say maybe.
Wonderful service!
The Almond Crusted Sea Scallops were done perfectly. The Hot Crab & Artichoke Dip was the best we have had anywhere. Char-grilled Filet Mignon was tender and very tasty. Server was attentive to all our needs. Overall and excellent dinner.
So disappointed! In the midst of COVID scariness, we arrived to be seated at a filthy table and the server delivered food with her ungloved thumbs in the food. The server didn't know the Chef's Seafood Special menu, didn't know about the wine that was paired with the meal, didn't know about Bourbons available, forgot to bring bread - had to ask for it, didn't explain part of HOT scallop main course was served on something COLD (so we were freaked - the scallops and asparagus were luke warm) just - plain - failed. In a restaurant where guests were sparse (hello COVID), we were placed at a table within visual and audible distance from the kitchen and wait station. The light was TOO bright, it was LOUD and very unsettling. Not romantic AT ALL. There were MANY desirable, window seats available but we got THIS ONE. We have been guests as Kincaid's for YEARS, Sad to say, we will NEVER go back.
We really enjoyed our evening at Kincaid's. In fact we were having so much fun that our waiter had to tell us that the restaurant was closed and that we needed to leave! Delicious food & great ambiance. It was truly a memorable evening.
Birthday Happy Hour. Very nice ambiance.
