Kincaid's - Bloomington
Food and atmosphere was beautiful! We sat by a water feature which was relaxing. Waitress and host were also very nice!
Very nice venue. Solid tasty preparations of traditional items. Nothing very adventurous on the menu
But what they do, they do very well and don't disappoint
Celebrated our 33rd anniversary. Had a delicious meal!!
We had another poor experience at Kincaid’s on Saturday night. All four dinners were served cold. My prime rib was so chewy I could barely cut it with the serrated steak knife provided. I ate less than a third because you could not chew it. My husband said his steak was cold, dry and chewy. One of our guests was complimentary but 3 of 4 felt the food was poor. This experience follows a similar one where we took the time to complain. This time we left saying nothing but will not come back.
We have always enjoyed Kincaids. We usually eat in the main restaurant, but we choose to eat in the bar this time. It was in the afternoon, not real busy when we first got there, but it got busier pretty quickly. Waiter was very friendly and helpful. Food we chose was very good. We will be back.
Our overall experience was not what it has been in the past. Both the food and the service were less than what it used to be. Disappointing!
Always a good menu and specials. we especially Enjoyed having Sarah as our waitress. She was friendly, competent and helpful with menu selections.
Nice ambience even though it is an office building.
we loved the food and service but it was very, very cold in the restaurant. there were 6 of us from ages 26 to 65 and we were all freezing. we asked to move to a different table, not possible, so we all ate our meals with our coats on.
The food and drinks were amazing! Will definitely be back!
Once again our visit was made even more special because we had Gary for our server. His service and attention to detail always makes us feel like we are his only customer.
There are a number of steakhouses in Minneapolis. I have eaten at Kincaid’s in Bloomington twice in the last month and the food was average. I tried the meatloaf the first time, but the puff pastry was soggy and the meatloaf lacked flavor. The second time, I went with a filet with the crab béarnaise and asparagus. Nothing special and I get grilled steaks at home with more flavor. And, my béarnaise sauce from a package is just as good.
So, I will be spending my money at better steakhouses like, Manny’s, Ruth Chris’ or Murray’s for example.
Went out for my birthday. Tables were more crammed together because of Valentine’s Day so you felt a bit on top of each other. Server was excellent, but service was slow at times, which was not her fault.
First, the servers at Kincaids are awesome and the best part of the dining experience. They are nice, knowledgeable and attentive. However, the food on the Valentine’s weekend menu did not meet our expectations! The bone in short ribs was terrible, basically all bone and little meat. The wait time for our meal was way too long. We had asked for a special table and had been assured by one of the hostesses that we would be accommodated but the message on the note she left was totally ignored. Overall, we had a bad experience. We don’t plan to return to Kincaids!!
The so called Prawns were actually medium shrimp at best , the bone in pork chops were over cooked and they were over priced. I don’t understand why that happened as we sat down at 4:30 pm. It was NOT busy. Disappointed as it was our wedding day and thought we’d picked a good spot to celebrate.
Four of us dined on Valentine’s Day. We were seated in the back, which provides a romantic ambience. On the other hand, those seated in front must have felt like they were in a busy bus station. We ordered walleye, salmon, sirloin and a filet. The salmon was delicious, the walleye fine, but the two steaks were disasters. The sirloin was very thin, no more then 3/8”, and chewed like rubber. No flavor. The filet was not tender and also had no flavor. Their food is priced high, we should expect better than 2 of 4 entrees to be tasty. We also tried the key lime pie and creme brûlée. Key lime was not tart, and the creme was just average. Overall, we were very disappointed in our experience. It was a 2-star experience at a 4-star price.
Clam chowder was only a cup full not a bowl full for $10. Old fashion drink was only half full. Lobster was way under done. We waited for over 30 minutes between our soup and main coarse. What the hell happened here. They used to be the best. Really bad. Did I say really bad
Food was not hot. It was cold in the restaurant. Had to return my wine.
Our server Jerry was always available. Menu description was perfect. Will definitely return. Management was visible and all members of the staff were engaging.
Great spot for a quick, relatively light lunch: soup and 1/2 sandwich was perfect. Prime Rib French dip beef was very tender and reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend.
As always, Kincaid's is still the premier business lunch spot in the southwest metro. It is a delight to have a reason to return. I need to remember to try them for dinner one of these evenings. If you need to conduct business outside of downtown, Kincaid's is the spot.
Went to Kincaid’s for my wife’s birthday. It’s always a nice experience but our server had just a little edge to her. She did say happy birthday but that was it, no dessert given, no card and she seemed a little preoccupied. The food was great like always, the venue is very nice. I’ll still go back but it was just a little stain on our nice birthday evening.
i have a dairy allergy and they always work around it for me. it is our favorite place to dine. it was my husbands birthday and he picked kincaids for his first choice of a place to go. always a pleasure.
This our go to place for family Sunday Brunch.
Kincaid's was great! The food, service and atmosphere were all top notch. It is a little pricey but you cannot beat the menu and the flavors are exceptional. You cannot ask for more.
Drinks were amazing, crab appetizer was spot on, best french onion soup to date, braised short rib with grits was impeccable;however, the prime rib “that we have served for 34 years” reminded me of attempting to eat the soul of an old shoe. Not impressed by any means. Over all experience was great.
Disappointing...not enough wait staff . Downhill since acquisition by Landry's.
The music was too loud and interfered with conversation. I was eating with a client. The food was good I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who intends to have meaningful conversation. Music should be in the background. It should not irritate the customer and require us to lean forward to hear the other person(s) and raise our voices to be heard. My client commented on his discomfort with the loud music.
Main course ( steak ) was served COLD and had to be returned. When it came back it appeared to be microwaved. I took my $48.00 steak home to my two Labradors. They liked it
I did NOT
Ambiance was nice and server pleasant, but often non attentive. The salmon was awful. Small portion and not fresh with a horrible pepper/dill topping. I've eaten there in the past and have raved about the fish. Not so this time. For $300 for a table of three, Iand no dessert, I expected much better.
Great dinner. Lori is a great server.
This is a particularly beautiful space at night and a lovely place to dine but under new management the ambiance has been significantly degraded by loud pounding music which the on-site managers are powerless to turn down. We could barely hear ourselves think much less have a conversation and it ruined what was otherwise a very nice dining experience. Whatever the rationale for this change. It is a grievous error and will harm what is an upscale, elegant venue, not a sports bar!! I am a regular but have other options if this isn’t addressed. Further, any company that devalues its on-sight management staff to the point that they can’t even turn down the sound doesn’t understand basic management principles-hire and empower good people! Bad start for the new owners.
The music was a little loud - in the background- not loud enough - but should have been a little lower. Also, toilet paper out in Womens restroom - the hostess was told this twice in a half hour and it still hadn't been taken care of.
Kincaids has been a favorite of ours for several years: good food, excellent service, and a relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately, the new owners have dictated to the local management that the music volume be cranked up to an annoyingly high level. We had trouble conversing, and our waitperson actually made a mistake on my order simply because she could not hear me! She was very apologetic and corrected it quickly, but this is wrecking and ambiance of this great restaurant! The local managers are powerless to correct the situation . This is not a good business model for the owners. We won’t be back until they turn the volume down.
Music was a bit louder than usual but the rest was as wonderful as usual.
My beef sandwich was a disaster....stringy , tasteless, and sparse.
I can't recommend this restaurant at the current noise level or volume of music. I go there to connect with my parents over lunch. My Dad has some hearing loss and had trouble hearing over the ambient noise. Even the wait staff has trouble hearning over the volume. This is a recent change.
My Honey Peppercorn Salmon was truly excellent. The service was along friendly, specific, and observant, as always.
Kincaids is our favorite restaurant in Minneapolis. Always excellent service, Asiago Walleye is fantastic, and steaks are superb. ALWAYS get the Maytag Bleu Cheese salad.
The crab and artichoke dip was divine. We had the 10 oz filet mignon and Yukon mashed potatoes and they were delicious and perfectly cooked. However for dessert we tried the key lime pie and it certainly was not worth the price. But we have had the cheesecake in the past and it was amazing!
We love Kincaids. We go several times a year and the food is always delicious. They really know how to prepare salmon. The Maytag blue cheese salad is a must if you love blue cheese. Their Burnt Creme Is the best in town. Service is always good. A nice place for a special event or date night. We’ll be back
The Ambiance at Kincaid's is undeniable., and the service is excellent. I was really disappointed in my Maytag blue cheese salad with grilled chicken. The grilled chicken was overcooked tough and chewy. I barely ate any of it. Blue cheese dressing was great though
