Kincaid's Bayhouse - Oakland Ratings and Reviews
We traveled to Oakland for an event and wanted to eat somewhere on the water, what a great find! Excellent wine selection, great food, wonderful service...we were impressed! We loved it so much we went back for lunch the next day. There's a great little wine bar, Lungomare (sp?) a few doors down for a predinner app and wine. Great location, lots of fun! We'll definitely go back if/when we are in Oakland.
Immediately seated at a great table by the window. Slight, damp, musty smell, but not overwhelming. Started with a Stone Ruination Double IPA--most excellent. We had bowls of New England clam chowder and French onion soup--delish, ample serving, not too salty. Main dishes: Columbia River Steelhead trout with two potatato cakes and some veggies; breaded chicken Dijon with mashed potatoes, and spinach with bacon. Both main dishes were very well prepared and were done just right--compliments to the Chef! Most outstanding meal. Service was good. Definitely recommend! IMO, more like $$$ instead of $$.
The food is always good but for some reason this night the service was just ok. The service is always friendly... however our soups were delivered without spoons and our prime ribs were delivered with out proper steak knives. We had to ask for certain items twice. This is not typically our experience. Although the issues were resolved... when you are waiting as your soups and entries are getting cold you wonder how these simple details are missed i.e. why would you serve soup w/o a spoon. Anyhow, oping it was just an off night and not anything more.
This was my third time dining at Kincaid's, so I have a bit of a track record. The seasonal menu offered this time included a creative (and filling!) blackened catfish/jambalya dish as well as an excellent salad with bleu cheese. If skies are clear and you're here at sunset, the view of the waterfront is quite nice.
Seemed like a new team working there....young inexperienced manager....made servers nervous....servers seem inexperienced as well....I wonder if the manager was making them nervous...not sure. I must say...when we asked for something simple...it was like the servers had no intelligence whatsoever. It was like we were speaking a language they didn't understand. We ask for 2 separate bills. He came back with one ticket for all 3 of us and said we could figure it out...then he would split it. It was like..huh??? Just give us 2 tickets...really strange. Oh my Ca eggs benedict was cool..not even warm. I would come back though...maybe I was sitting on the wrong side????
I selected this restaurant so that my husband and I could celebrate his birthday and then go to the Warriors game. Our waiter Jesus did a wonderful job and we left him a tip to represent how well he did. The food was delicious and the view of the water is just beautiful! We had a great time and we will be back.
I had been to Kinkaids several times in the past but not for several years. The service was again impeccable, but the food was not up to previous memories. My Mahi Mahi was a bit over cooked and my wife's potatoes were under cooked. I will still return as when it's perfect Kinkaids is a great experience.
The food came out at different times. Our waiter never cleaned our appetizer plates off the table. Our water glasses were empty for 20 mins. For a pork chop he didn't even bother to get us the correct knife to cut the pork chip. Def disappointing for the price we paid for the meal
Enjoyed our evening and the view from the window seat. I've dined here a couple times before and the food was great. This time, calamari appetizer was crispy, light and delicious with two yummy sauces. Prime rib was excellent but special menu filet medallions that two of us ordered were charred and over cooked. Fried green tomatoes were nice and tangy on the inside but the heavy cornmeal batter was flavorless and the rest of the plate bland. Hopefully just an off night for this meal. I'd give them another try but not anytime soon.
This restaurant was excellent, I appreciated the great customer service. Our server Kristen was fantastic! I was very impressed. I made a reservation yet ran a bit late, my guest was still seated and treated very well. Upon arrival we were served fairly quickly, the food was superb. I will definitely return
I made a reservation and indicated it was my birthday and a date. The restaurant did not help me celebrate and I was disappointed. I had to remind the waiter and still they did not come over and sing happy birthday to me😞 Otherwuse, the food was great and service was good😊
It was my first time at Kincaid's restaurant and my experience was just fenomenal. I love the welcoming, the view, the service and above all things the food was simply delicious. Thank you for making my husband's and I first date after three years with no kids amazing. Can't wait to go back for my birthday 10/29. Thank you Kincaid's.
Our server was accommodating and pleasant. We were there for Sunday brunch, the options were sufficient, the food was good. Overall, a good value. My only complaint is that the Bloody Mary bar was lacking (need more olive choices, more hot sauce choices, - maybe a house made hot sauce?) .
We had attended the Oysterfest only to find one oyster vendor so I used opentable to identify a nearby restaurant with oysters and Kincaid's delivered beautifully ! Oysters on the half shell, plump, fresh and delicious and the buffalo oysters were a nice surprise, so a second round was necessary 😁
