Returned to this restaurant after 14 years and it has changed all for the better. The service was efficient, food was prepared as ordered, cocktails were delicious. Management must have changed over the years, it has improved and can get in the game with all the good restaurants in Oakland.
The food, service and view are great in this institution in Jack London Square. A gem in Oakland!
Excellent choice for a late lunch with family on a Friday afternoon. Great chowder and burgers, sandwiches, salads, fresh fish-
-decent wines by the glass, view was nice and the service was exemplary, our server LeRoy was wonderful. Will definitely come back!
We had a perfect window table and it was a nice environment for dinner with long term friends.
View and ambiance do not make up for overcooked fish that was replaced when others at the table were finished eating.
I've been going to Kincaid's for years now and I never been disappointed.
Not much choice for people who are not into sauce for this and that. Except for the hamburger. The pork chop was very disappointing, not much meat ,lots of fat and bone.
No white fish .
This is a fun place to eat and watch the boats and take in the view. The food is good.
Wonderful service and presentation. We shared the filet and seafood special and portions were just right. Wonderful meals and lovely view looking out over the water.
I came to Kincaids to celebrate my mother's birthday. As I walked into Kincaids I was greeted warmly. On top of that, although I made a reservation for whatever that was available, they asked me if I would like to wait for a table near the windows. Although they said it would take 15 minutes to wait, the wait was less than five minutes. Our server matt, was quite polite, helpful, and very attentive to our needs. For appetizers, we ordered the Kincaid's grand tasting sampler. Im a fan of creamy seafood dishes, so of course I fell in love with the grilled nova scotia scallops with tuna tartare. The dungeness crab and artichoke dip was amazing. My main course, the prime rib was cooked perfectly. I had to finish with dessert.
The presentation and flavor of food is some of the best in Jack London. Someone in my party said they have the absolute best clam chowder. I really enjoyed my top sirloin. The flavor and tenderness was fantastic.
Such a wonderful birthday dinner! We've frequented Kincaid's for years for special occasions, cocktails, and casual dinners. It is very consistent in quality and experience.
Great food, would recommend anytime. Prime Rib was excellent
I enjoyed the view of the Bay with all the excitement of the Boat show. Staff was friendly enough but I have to say the food was just "ok". I ordered the ham/spinach omelette and I felt way to much oil/butter was used. My friend ordered the salmon and felt the portion was very small for the price. Otherwise it was enjoyable
It seems in the past year that the prices have gone up substantially. I realize Kincaid's is a chain, however their new prices are equivalent to a high end restaurant (not a chain) we frequent in Tahoe. While our entrees, the Filet Wellington for my husband & the prime rib for me were cooked beautifully, the veggies left a bit to be desired. The "silky" potatoes were obviously pre-made molded portions & not particularly warm on arrival. Also, while I love properly cooked crisp-tender veggies, the broccolini was essentially raw. Overall, the meal was very good & our waiter, Allan, was attentive without being overbearing.
Six of us were there on April 14 after spending hours at the boat show. They were VERY busy, yet we could hear each other, even from one end of the rectangular table to the other, the food was fabulous, the cocktails yum and very creative, Allen took care of us and did an outstanding job, especially considering how busy they were. My new favorite restaurant. Not one single thing to complain about.
Wonderful food and view of the bay, great for a leisurely lunch. However, service was really too slow (entrees arrived 70 minutes after being seated.) I think they are understaffed. The restaurant knew how busy they would be for the boat show, but they failed to staff properly.
The waitress was attentive even though it was very crowded. Food was straightforward, almost plain. Strawberry lemonade was a good thing to order for a warm day, with free refills.
although prime rib cut was cooked to order; disappointed plate got cold quickly after serving
Food and Service was Outstanding!A+
My husband and I enjoyed everything about Kincaids Bayhouse, the food was excellant, excellant service and atmosphere. We go every year for our anniversary this was year number 12 and Kinkaids help make it another memorable year. Loved the Lamb Chops!
I enjoy Kincaid's during happy hour. The crab dip and sampler platter is great. However, I wouldnt go back for brunch. The service was excellent, but the food was not so great.
We had excellent service and will definitely return soon, especially when the weather is nicer and we can sit outside.
I have been to Kincaid's many time in the past, but the food for dinner was excellent, particularly the clam chowder. I had never seen it served the way it was, i.e. fresh cut herbs put in first, and the clam chowder poured over it at the table. Only one person ordered it, but we had a taste and it was scrumptious. Other things on the menu were quite good as well. Only the Beef Wellington was a little dry.
Great Place. Better than Kincaids Burlingame. Lost my 7:30 reservation, had to rebook a 8:00 to get credit.
good service, great food, but the amount of food for the price is very small..over priced
I was pleasantly surprised at this restaurant. I was looking for a place to get together with family, and we were between Pleasanton and San Francisco so Oakland seemed a good spot. The service was great (except the waitress needed a bit of help with her language skills). The food was quite good - and they had small plates available that were tasty and a good sized portion. I had the lamb chops, which were well seasoned and tasty. The salmon was great, and the bread pudding was served with a delicious brandy sauce.
Ambience was nice - all in all a very nice experience.
Loved the scallops, braised green vegetables, and Cosmopolitan cocktail. But the onion soups was tooo salty although it was a very generous portion and looked great with all that cheese baked on top. Overall, a very nice experience.
We enjoyed the experience the view was spectular food was excelent
Been a customer for years! Love the place.
Food, as always, was excellent. Service very good. But I have to mark down my rating. Why? We had a party of 10 celebrating Mom's 82nd and Ed's 53rd birthdays. Mom has always said that Kincaid's has THE best prime rib she's ever had. We ordered & both birthday folks ordered the prime rib. Mom was SO excited! Our waitress, Terezia, came back to the table after putting in our order...to say...they were out of prime rib. On a Wednesday evening at 6:15!!! How is that possible??? After I told Terezia the prime rib was THE reason we came to Kincaid's, she went back to the kitchen & reported back that there was ONE 12 oz portion left & Mom could have it. Ed, however, had to order something else. What a disappointment! & no visit/apology from a mgr
pleasant relaxed ambiance. Food well prepared. Very good quality2price ratio.
Our waiter was AWESOME...he knew the menu and his suggestions was on point! We attended with a group of 10 and had a really good time. My husband and I are going back next week, that's how good our experience was at Kincaid.
We had a wonderful experience! Our servers were awesome! They went out of their way to make us feel great about our evening there. We had a table with a beautiful view of the water and great conversation. We will definitely be back!
I have not been to Kincaids for about 8 years. I was very happy about the excellent food and wine recommended by our server. I thought the prices were very good. We made a reservation the day before for a romantic date and had a nice window table. My date was very impressed.
We were a group of 7. Food was excellent, fresh, flavorful, including appetizers, main dishes, desserts and cocktails. Wonderful service too: friendly, attentive and helpful.
Very nice dinner, served by a well-trained waitress.
We went for Sunday brunch and, although not on the brunch menu, the crab artichoke dip is my family's all time favorite. We could've easily eaten one order each in addition to our entrees. Our server was new so there was a considerable wait time for our food and drinks which is why the service is only 2 stars. Being that I have 3 kids, one of whom is a toddler, waiting can make for an undesirable experience. But Kincaids tends to be our default when we want to be fancy and splurge a little.
Wow finally the service, food and the ambiance of Kincaid's was everything I would have hoped for. This visit has far outshined the previous visit and it is back on my favorites list again!!!
Absolutely the best kept secret in Alameda! The chef and food is amazing! The service is excellent and inobtrusive. The restaurant is right on the Oakland Estuary on Jack London Square...beautiful view especially at sunset. The bar tender, John M., really knows his stuff. There is nothing you could want for in this restaurant.
