Sunday evening, and out of standard faire, no oysters, calamari, etc, service great and the view was fantastic
We had terrible service. Not sure what happened but our table and a few others had a very bad waiter that unfortunately ruined our dining experience.
Our party of 5 was very happy with their various dishes. We love the view out onto the Oakland estuary, especially at dusk. The staff tried very hard to be attentive and friendly even though they were understaffed.
Food is always good. Excellent service. Very attentive -- continued to check on how we were doing and if we needed anything.
Spent a nice evening at Oakland Kinkades, Service was very good but I had the Meatloaf Welington, which had very little flavor. Two of our party had the Stealhead Trout which they enjoyed. The fourth person had the Salmon which was very good.
We really appreciate your feedback. Thank you for taking the time to leave us this information about your recent visit. We hope to see you again soon!
Beautiful view. Good service. Everyone was pleased, if not raving about their food. Raves were heard for the blueberry muffin French toast. All in all an excellent place for Sunday brunch offering a variety for every taste. Would definitely return.

Excellent waterfront views and very good seafood. Service was just right--helpful and knowledgeable without too much hovering.

Thank you for the high star rating and the kinds words! we hope to see you again soon!
The dinner was for our anniversary but no one acknowledged it. Our food came out while we were eating our appetizers and felt rushed. The shell fish fettuccini was good but very rich.
We went for my birthday and I made the reservations weeks in advance. I had the special filet with the crab. The amount of crab would fill a tablespoon and the sides were cold. Not worth $42. My husband had the salmon and his sides were under cooked and cold. The total bill was over $100. Very disappointing.
Overall it was good. But expensive and not worth the $200 spent honestly. I expected more. The calamari was probably the worst part of the meal. It was chewy and it’s bad that Olive Garden’s is better. Our server seemed new and anxious. And the market vegetables weren’t great. But the steak was cooked and seasoned well, my short ribs were delicious despite the fact that 30% of it was just a piece of inedible fat. And my wife’s meatloaf was amazing. The view over the bay of docked boats was great. But the restaurant is dated and needs new carpeting at least. The floors are sticky. For the cost, this should be a more elegant experience.
Ambiance lower than expected as the place needs update. Worn carpets, furnishings etc

Had a great birthday dinner with my wife, but timing with the dessert and coffee was off. Coffee came out first dessert came out 20 minutes later. I always feel coffee and dessert should come out simultaneously.

Good for meeting friends !!
Nice touch for special occasion and spectacular view.
Lovely views, decent, service, mediocre food.
It was wonderful!
A few glitches rapidly made right by server Natalie and the outstanding manager. Fabulous customer service. We’ve been enjoying Kincaid’s since it began. Thank you! Many restaurants need to take a lesson for these two.
Been a few years since I dined at Kincaid's (Oakland). Wow! What a letdown!
Made reservations ahead of time; walking up to the entrance area outside ... it was dead ...no one in sight. Approaching the entrance it was very noticeable how shabby the the area was .... outside walls were overly worn with bird dropping and remnants everywhere..not a pleasant sight to enter a restaurant.
Had me wondering: I wonder what the kitchen looks like ....
We were warmly greeted by the host and taken to the seating area ....the restaurant's large dining area felt ominous as there was only one other party seated ..........on a Friday @ Noon !
The service of the waiter was good as was his timeliness in ordering portions were adequate, but it was the quality that were the issues here.
My dining partner accidentally tipped over his water glass (about 1/3 full) after our meal was over; we soaked up as much as we could; summoned the waiter for assistance; he picked up the remaining dishes, made a feeble attempt to soak up water with a cloth napkin that didn't work (we tried also). He gave us our bill & then left us even though the entire table was now soaked !! He never came back!
We were left there with a table completely covered in water that had now been sloshed all around.
We couldn't even sign the billing receipts on the wet table ........
Been coming to Kincaid's over the decades ..........I guess there's always a last time.
The setting & view is the one very positive aspect .......fortunately, that does not change ........other aspects of Kincaid's has !!
As my companion said: "If Kincaid's doesn't care about maintaining the property, their meals & service, why should we?" Unfortunately, I must agree.
Service was great (I’m so sorry I can’t remember the name of the waitress) and the food was excellent. All 3 meals were well cooked and the different flavors and textures made this a birthday to remember for our friend (including the complimentary crime brûlée served with a candle for dessert).
Permanently ensconced in Jack London for many, many years this venerable Seafood and Steak restaurant offers up very good food, excellent service and an absolutely beautiful ambiance. Remember when you dine here to ask for seating overlooking the Bay where you can view the ships and boats passing by as you dine under the sunset. What a beautiful sight!
We got a waterfront table and the setting is perfect for a romantic evening!
Had a great table. Waitress greet us and we heard specials. She was nice but slow. When she came back we ordered drinks. My wife ordered scallops which were just meh. She said she would have sent them back but we were with a good friend and didn’t want to make a scene. I ordered filet. Meat was great. Cooked perfectly. Vegetables were cold. I ordered fingerling potatoes with it. When food came, both my wife and friend received their food. Mine I had to wait? Why? Vegetables were cold and came with mashed potatoes which I did not order. Had to wait for fingerling potatoes. It was 6:30 and asked if they had key lime pie. Guess what, they’re out! Ordered a mocha while others ordered desserts. Their dessert came. Guest ordered cuff it came. My mocha I’m still waiting. She said bartender was busy. Waiting. Came back and said I’ll get it. Waiting. Finally got it. Not best food or service for price you pay but we had a beautiful view of bay.
Great environment and place to socialize have drinks and appetizers. Was not impressed with tortellini though. But everyone else's meals where to taste.
The food was amazing and the service was great. We had a great evening out and a great meal.
Has been my favorite restaurant for many years. Like fine wine, Kincaid's improves as it ages.
We were seated at a table with a beautiful view, and were given hot, delicious bread within just a few minutes of sitting. But, the waiter forgot to bring our soups, and our entrees took a long time to arrive. When we reminded him about the soups, he brought them out after the entrees, and they were cold. His supervisor checked on us, apologized for the soups, and gave them to us for free—which was nice!
My wife loved her entree (filet), but I didn’t enjoy my blue cheese New York Steak. Probably more on me than the restaurant; I thought I would enjoy the flavor but found it overpowering.
We were drawn in by the health care appreciate promotion. Food quality was poor, service slow and were over charged.
Overall we were disappointed with the experience and likely will not return.
My husband and I chose Kincaid's to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary. We chose it because of all the factors I clicked on: food, beautiful view, quiet setting, great wine selection delicious food and superb service. We also love it because of the diverse customers who also chose it: people of every ethnicity, couples, families and single people. I recommend it highly!
Unfortunately our waitperson took our order and the last we saw of her was when she brought the check, and our appetizer plate and first cocktail rounds left on our table until our main course came.
The quality is generally good. Service can be sketchy. Restaurant needs updating.
The location with the lovely water view is the primary reason to visit.
We love Kincaid's! Great food, wonderful service, and a view that cannot be beat. It's our "go to" place in Jack London Square.
Service person we had made the experience well worth it!! We didn’t have to ask or repeat anything she was on spot!! Thank you!!
Great food, service and atmosphere!
We had a table by the window and enjoyed watching sailboats and row crews pass by.
This was our first and likely last trip to Kincaid's. I had my mom in town and took her, my wife and infant son for dinner. I was wanting a steak, so I ordered the 10 oz filet, my mom had the aged Sirloin and my wife had the Steelhead. Drinks and appetizers came promptly and our waiter Nick was very friendly. Things went downhill from there. I had ordered my steak signature style, medium-rare and wanted no butter on top, no potatoes and to add spinach. The steak came out and there was a big pad of butter. I started to wipe if off, but Nick came over and wanted to take it back to show the cooks. OK. My wife and mom started in on their food and I waited for the steak to come out. Great, no butter, but the steak was dark red inside, extremely rare. I called Nick over and told him the problem. The manager came over to, to apologize. I told her that we werent in a rush, just get it right. They said the executive chef would be cooking my steak. Great I said. He brought out the steak and even though this time it had potatoes, I didn't care. The steak was excellent. Third time a charm. They comped the steak and dessert, which was very nice of them. I have no issues with the service here. Nick was a good server and the manager was freindly and apologetic. I do not tend to leave reviews, good or bad, but if management is reading this, attention to detail is an important part of the dining experience as is the temperature of a steak. I probably wont be back, but realize the server or management had nothing to do with not getting the order right the first or second time.
