Food was very good..... our service executive was very pleasant and helpful. Made for a very enjoyable evening!
Took advantage of Oakland Restaurant Week, and the prix fixe menu, for lunch.
The friendly hostess seated us at a great table, overlooking the water.
I didn't look through the regular menu, as the Restaurant Week menu had a decent selection of alternatives. I went for the fish and chips, and soup. Both were quite good. In fact, there was too much food (neither of us finished it all, but had take-home boxes).
Parking was close by, and somewhat subsidized.
The atmosphere encourages me to check out their regular menu and try the restaurant again.
Good service. Excellent food. Wonderful view even on a rainy day.
Good food. They were busy so food did not come on time. Wine was given after our meal. Appetizer came after dinner. The Server was trying hard to make it right but the back house needs to get the act together. First time there and hope to try it again one more time.
I dined at Kincaid's this past Saturday, for my birthday. It was the most lovely experience. I had to share with Manager how fantastic everything was. Kincaid's made my birthday extra special. I will gladly visit again.
I was treated to two servers for reasons not fully explained. Nevertheless, it was a real treat. They worked in tandem and provided attentive, quality care while serving me. The entree I ordered was a 10oz filet mignon with veggies and crispy potato cakes . The beef was cooked to perfection. Just the way I like it. The potato cakes could have been crispier. The price was a little steep for the portion amount. In spite of that, it was delicious.
Great service! It was a birthday celebration and I acknowledged that with the reservation on open table but the waiter had no knowledge of our plans. We opened gifts and celebrated but there was no acknowledgement on the restaurants part. Wasn’t looking for anything comp but would have paid for something special for the birthday.
My waiter Nick was excellent, unfortunately the food was awful, my steak was cooked incorrectly twice and the vegetables was burnt. The manager on duty did refund us our money but the damage was already done. 1. We were asked to move tables to accommodate a party that never showed. 2. The food. The dessert they gave us was ice cold.
Simply my go to spot, everything is always wonderful. The service and care spot on every time.
Food was AMAZING!
Server seemed overworked/stressed.
I had called to see if I could put my name in and the hostess who answered was snooty and said reservations were full and if I chose to walk in it’d be an hour. So I looked online and made a reservation.
My Coho Salmon was not from the regular menu, but was a holiday menu item. My mom’s pork chop said it came with rainbow carrots, but it came with Brussel sprouts with a couple medallions of orange carrots, so she was not pleased.
Sun was too bright to enjoy view or water, but was still nice through the shades. Great location in the right day.
They lost us on New Years day. I had a reservation for lunch at 1 pm. We arrived maybe 10 min late and were seated at a window table about 10 minutes later at 1:20. By 2 pm we had what I call a prison lunch - only bread and water - no drinks and no food - even though we'd ordered. The waitstaff apologized for 'things out of her control' but this was annoying. By 2:30 we finally had our lunch and drinks. Now I can understand that the kitchen/ bar/ wait staff had a long night new years eve - but not being able to deliver a drink in under an hour from a bar 8 feet away is just bad management. The manager did comp us for the drinks which was thoughtful, but I won't be going back for a while. The quality of the food, when it did arrive, was good and they nicely split the meal for us - so the kitchen staff was doing a fine job.
Our server was exceptionally super good. The price is a little too high. The New year menu was too small. More choices like rib eye steak and potter house will be great
Extremely disappointing visit. Service was poor. My husband ordered prime rib, had no seasoning, seasonal vegetable looked grey. I ordered the sirloin which was supposed to come with a red wine and balsamic demi glace. Came out sliced with no sauce or seasoning at all. Potato cakes that came with it were extremely heavy and doughy. When I was finally able to flag down waiter he brought me some sauce on the side and offered a dessert. In the end he ended up comping my sirloin since I had not eaten, but even dessert was just fair. We went for New Year's Eve and while they had what seemed to be an excessive amount of staff on, nothing was executed well. Will not be returning.
The food I once knew has lost it's appeal. Also, it was not made clear that there would be a set holiday menu. The services staff and management was Excellent! Kincaid really need a better chef.
The food was very tasty. Their bread is delicious! Service was very good.
Considering the price point I was not impressed. Our vegetables were mushy and the shrimp was over cooked and tough. And we had to pour our own wine, which is unfortunate. Maybe because my wife and I are young so our server didn’t think us worth their time, but we were celebrating our anniversary so we were hoping for a better dining experience.
Amazing view, relaxed but very friendly service.
Had 2 soup and sandwich lunch specials:
Open face crab sandwich with lobster bisque: sandwich way too greasy with little crab meat to be spoken of. Bisque too greasy (is not the expected creamy consistency ).
Beef au jus sandwich was ok, well toasted, beef a bit dry, au jus too salty. Clam chowder same comments as the bisque
Informed us the prepaid card didn’t have a balance and we had to pay another way. Called the prepaid provider the next day during support hours and there was a charge for kinkaids :). Also politely asked manager to double check and he had a very dismissive attitude and confident he never actually did (obviously because we have a statement showing the charge now)!
That was prior to them getting our meals wrong and one of us having to wait 20 minutes while everyone else was eating. Food is ok but not true steakhouse good whatsoever.
We live walking distance away so we keep coming back despite average food but this was finally our last time. We had a bad experience the last time with the food too. But this instance of them not knowing how to charge a gift card properly was really frustrating and tainted the night. Place seems to slowly be going down hill. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! :) good luck kinkaids. We root for restaurants in this area and try to recommend them to friends and living in Jack London but no longer will due to your dismissive attitude over something you clearly made the mistake on.
Family brunch for Boxing Day/Christmas. Lovely venue. Music was a bit loud — maybe set for a full house?
Server was excellent! Very cheerful and attentive.
The prime rib is outstanding. Great wine menu. On the water view is wonderful.
Dined on Christmas Eve and received excellent service. Would love to to have a repeat experience.
We have been coming to this restaurant for many years and it was always a Christmas Eve tradition. This year they decided to open up the entire restaurant for Christmas Eve, including the bar area that has much smaller tables and feels like a diner (instead of nice restaurant). Sorry, but I made my reservation 3 weeks in advance for this special evening and was not happy to sit at that little table in a diner atmosphere. When I asked to be moved several times to the 2 hostesses and finally the manager, I was told there was nothing they could do. When I said that I should at least have priority, having made reservations 3 weeks in advance, compared to some one who only made them a day or week in advance, they had us wait until a lot of other tables were seated. That was fine with me and worth waiting for a table, especially since this is not a cheap restaurant and I expected to spend some $$. It was the attitude that bothered me. I would think they would be understanding about putting people in that cramped and less inviting area. They finally did seat us at a nice window table, but the attitude bothered me. Bill Was $160 for 3 people.. and we would have left if we had to sit at that cramped table in the bar area. In addition, their deep fried calamari appetizer was mostly tiny pieces that were heavily breaded. Not worth returning on a busy occasion. Need to find a new Christmas Eve tradition.
Really nice, food was pretty good and the view and ambiance are spectacular. Only disappointing thing was they did not have the wine we wanted. We wanted something special and asked for a nice bottle. They didn’t have our first choice... or second... or third.... lol we were laughing about it. 30 minutes later it seemed like we finally got something and we still had a great time but
The food was unremarkable, and seems to be going downhill every year we go (we've been dining here every Christmas Eve for the past several years.) But we still enjoy the ambience, and the waitstaff is good. One word of caution: if you're a couple and not part of a larger dining party, they have a default habit of trying to seat you in the bar area. So you have to make a point of asking for the dining room at the time you make the reservation. Not good.
Everything great ! Waiter named CARLOS is terrific!
Food was outstanding but it is pricey. Worth it for my bday! Service was great!
Excellent seating for my wive's birthday, as requested. The food was enjoyable and fresh. Highly recommend. Cost of everything was very acceptable considering the high quality and freshness.
The place was not even open at 11am as requested on opentable. The people inside just stared as us and did not bother to unlock at the doors when we promptly arrived.
Great food good service. Would recommend. We are looking forward to Brunch on Sunday
Comfort Food doesn't quite get it as the food is a chef's delight! Everything we five ordered was put together as if it were to be served to the president. The service was very attentive. The view was spectacular out the windows on the estuary. When we think what's for dinner, Kincaid's will come to mind.
It is very upscale and the price reflects that, but the food earns that label very well!
Work team holiday outing. Great food, drinks and ambiance. Very crowded due to being close to Christmas- there were a lot of company parties happening at same time so service was super slow. Our waiter was very nice though and working well givens his constraints. I’ll be back!
I ordered the sushi bowl for lunch and was surprised to find very few pieces of thinly cut sushi in the bowl. It consisted mostly of greens, rice and edamame. I enjoyed it but one could not honestly call it a “sushi bowl”.
I visit this restaurant occasionally and am usually very happy with whatever I order. The wait staff is outstanding. Have never had a complaint about them.
Of course, the view is always fabulous. Will continue to visit if for nothing more than the crab dip & focaccia bread. Just disappointed this time.
Prime rib was tough, chewy and very salty. Not tender. Inedible. Only thing good about it was the buy one get one free promo they have going on during the week. The american wagyu sirloin was chewy. Not tender and not melt in your mouth. Two awful steaks for dinner. Wouldn’t come back for the prime rib and sirloin steak. Service was good.
Our waiter was great. Food good but filet and prime rib not cooked to order. No time to send it back. But beautiful view and yummy. A bit pricey.
The only negative was that they did not recognize the birthday guest even though I noted it in the reservation.
Celebrating Christmas with family
Open Table menu is not same as Kincaid's menu. Before making reservation I checked the menu listed on Open Table. There were 4 entrees that my husband would eat so I was happy. When we got to the restaurant, Ahi, Mahi Mahi, Sole stuffed with crab and mac nuts, and Cioppino were not listed on the menu and he doesn't eat sausage, trout or salmon. He ended up with a crab salad and was not happy that he had to eat a cold entree instead of item from menu listed at Open Table. My food was good, but not what I had anticipated eating.
The whole experience was lovely from the bar to the gals that welcomed us and sat us at our table. The food was excellent and the waiter very efficient! We had a great view!
We LOVE the prime rib! So, every so often we drop in for a “fix”! It is consistently good!
