Kincaid's Bayhouse - Burlingame Ratings and Reviews
The waiter recommended a salad, that he thought was special but it was actually mediocre.
We have eaten at this location for many years, the food didnt seem as good, something was missing! We have had many meals elsewhere that where much better in both flavor and pricing.
After all, the meal was expensive and not the best!
Service was sooooo ssslllloooowwwwwwww! It seemed that they're short-staffed. And when you need something like a refill or something that was forgotten from the order - you have to wait. And wait. And wait. It was so bad. Our quick meal became 2 hours longs because we didn't even get served our food till about half hour later. Good thing we were busy with our business meeting but by golly, it was awful!
Kincaid's is on the bayfront just south of SFO. It has excellent seafood and steaks. Great for a business meal in an area that lacks solid alternatives. But Kincaid's would hold its own in any district as the service is attentive and professional and the food is excellent. There were 4 of us and we had different items. All were good - a mahi mahi special, steelhead, and salads. I highly recommend it. Now that the road work on the Broadway exit to 101 is completed, it is much easier to reach Kincaid's again. This is most welcomed!
It is quiet at lunch. I have been to dinner when the noise was more moderate.
Wow...what happened here? I used to come just to have the fresh seafood either as a salad or within a dish. Had dinner w m brother and daughter Sun night. I have not seen nor tasted deep fried sea scallops. Don’t get me wrong, the taste was OK... but deep fried!?!? I sub’d fresh veggies, wow. Over cooked to the point of no structure left. Again... it tasted ok but... over cooked. Be sure to confirm if ‘fried’ means ‘pan fried’ or ‘deep fried’.
We visit Kincaids occasionally, perhaps once a quarter. Our previous visits were very good, food, service and atmosphere were perfect. On this last visit, while the crowd was much reduced, two days prior to New Years, the food was not up to par with prior visits....still very acceptable, but not outstanding as we have been used to. The service seemed to be a bit "rushed" and for no good reason, as there were many empty tables and really no rush to "turn" those that were occupied. I had the prime rib.....not bad but not the same quality as prior visits....my wife and Son had scallops, and they were disappointed....tough and overdone.
In short, we figured the "B" team was in the kitchen on a slow night. We'll try again soon and hope the down trend does not repeat itself.
Every seat in the house has a great view of the bay, the food is excellent, the service is great and the decor is New York penthouse classy. However, parking, although a dedicated lot, can be a bit of a problem, particularly for the handicapped, the prime rib is VERY salty, soup and salad are extra, and it’s overall a little pricey.
Excellent views of SF Bay and airplanes landing at SFO. I heartily recommend this place for appetizers and drinks in the bar, but this review is for Christmas dinner only. Options are limited and food was only of mediocre banquet quality and mostly served barely above room temp. However, we were all happy with the raw clams as appetizers, and the salads were excellent. The lobster bisque was a delicious flavor ... just too bad it wasn't warmer. It was the main courses that really left us disappointed. Prime rib flavor was good, but green beans were almost raw and cold. Grilled salmon and fingerling potatoes were just ok. Wild mushroom ravioli's to me tasted like they could have been bought in a grocery store (thick and doughy and I could not taste any mushroom flavors, but the one chunk (only) of short rib was truly delicious, albeit at room temp. The absolute worst part of the meal was the Pear Bread Pudding. It was truly disgusting. A huge chunk of coagulated bread and not much taste to it, and the bourbon sauce was cold and also tasteless.
Everything was wonderful. The only problem we had was the prime rib that was ordered well done. It came medium well..most of the time well done has only a hint of red. Sent back the prime rib and it came back acceptable, but would have preferred more well. Did not send back because the others (3) in the party already had their meals and wanted to wait until I received my dinner. Since it took about 10 mins the first time, decided not to send back otherwise the other party meals would have been cold. Will make sure to tell waitress I prefer well done as NO RED!
We went to Kincaid's to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. I had the scallops, which were very good. My son had the ahi, which he really enjoyed, and my husband ordered the steelhead-also good. Unfortunately, my dad's salmon was undercooked, so he did not eat much of it.
I haven't been to this restaurant for a few months, noticed they had changed the menu, removing some of our favorite items (i.e., coconut shrimp) and the burger sliders. Both my sister and I felt there was waaay too much salt on the fries, etc. I had the 1/2 french dip sandwich and a horrible bleu cheese salad with no flavor. The best part was the view and the ice tea! Service (Kristine) was great.
A dear friend and I get together at Kincaid's annually to celebrate Christmas. This year, the service was less than I've come to expect from Kincaid's. It took nearly 20 mins. and a trip to the hostess to get our glasses of champagne, and much longer than normal to get our salads/entre's. Things did improve after our initial complaint thanks to the collective staff. As I mentioned, this is very unusual for Kincaid's, creating more anxiety than you want when celebrating the holidays.
We had a nice table to the side and it had a good view of the waterfront. The lunch portions were ample. I love the green pea salad. The sole stuffed with crab and lobster was excellent. We were given plenty of time to have conversation during our lunch and had a great time.
