Kincaid Grill Ratings and Reviews
The food was excellent, as always. Besides consistently interesting and delicious food, one of my favorite things about this restaurant is that is quiet enough to easily converse with your dining partners. Service was just right, helpful, not hovering, but attentive.
Once again we had a fabulous experience at The Kincaid Grill. The food was absolutely delicious. What puts this restaurant at the top of our list is the pacing of the meal courses. There is plenty of time to enjoy each course. We have never felt like we need to finish up so the next party can be seated. I highly recommend The Kincaid Grill for a delicious and relaxing meal.
We invited a couple to join us for dinner. It was easy to make reservations online. We received confirmation promptly. The service was wonderful. They had just changed the menu and had several new entrees. We had the Lamb, Sablefish, Duck and Chicken four different entrees. Everyone was well satisfied with the presentation and taste. We look forward to our next visit.
As always, dining at Kincaid Grill was a warm and pleasant experience. Service was great and food is always prepared with a flare for perfection and attention to detail in presentation!!
Not sure why we don’t make it a regular but also enjoy there “tasting” specials. It’s a great evening diner option to shake things up and try something different.
Kincaid Grill did it again! Not only was the food delicious, but we were offered a special "tasting menu" choice that two of our party selected. This added an element of adventure to all of our dining experiences. The wine was wonderful and our server was a relaxed and knowledgeable professional. We had a first rate experience. Thank you!
My wife and I have patronized Kincaid Grill for years, and our recent visit affirmed why we have. The Chef's Tasting Menu was an excellent combination of flavors that were executed superbly. As always, Patrick did an excellent job of pairing splendidly-suited wines with each course. Our server, Elena, was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. Consistently, Kincaid Grill proves that it is the best fine dining experience in Anchorage, and this visit was no different.
Food was great. Service was great. It did take a long time for appetizer and then main course to arrive. Was not happy being seated next to a loud table of 10-14 people. In my reservation, I put date night. This should indicate a more intimate setting. We had to raise our voices a lot to have a conversation. There were tables available farther away, but I didn't want to make a scene. I would recommend to the restaurant to dim the lights more, sometimes helps lower the noise level.
Just a lovely, elegant restaurant that is first rate without being pretentious. My colleague and I took a business guest from the east coast there during the week and had a truly fine meal. I had a cajun-creole influenced main course that was wonderfully executed.
The food was excellent. The atmosphere was great. You can have a conversation with someone and not have to raise your voice to be heard. Our server was attentive, yet not bothersome. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a wonderful dining experience.
This was our first time to the Kincaid Grill. We have lived in Anchorage for 20 yrs. We should have been here before.
From the time we arrived the service was outstanding. We were waited on at once, the specials were explained and we were not pushed at all.
The appetizers came out fast and were excellent. Our soup came out later. We were allowed to enjoy the appetizers and not feel pushed. The Asian infused soup was outstanding. Could make a meal of that and the great fresh bed alone.
The main course was excellent. Well prepared. My steak was cooked to perfection. My wife loved her dish as well.
The deserts were outstanding. When they found out it was our 29th anniversary, the comped it. This was very nice but does not take away from how great they were.
We fell in love and will be back. Thanks for making this special night even more special.
Great dinner as usual. Love this quaint venue for our dinners out. Brought our kids for the first time (8 and 10). It's not a typical 'kid' restaurant at all in my opinion, but as long as they're quiet and well behaved, they'll blend in. We discovered that they have a 'young adult' menu which was great. It was a special occasion for our family which is the only reason why the kids came along, and they made us all feel very welcome. We had a wonderful evening together.
Kincaid Grill exceeded my expectations. It was less expensive than I had feared, and the menue was excellent. A friend and I each had the tasting menue, plus sme baked oysters. Everything was excellent, as were the wine pairings. I will go back with friends.
Extremely pleased with my visit. One of the best "upscale" restaurants I have been to in Anchorage. Atmosphere is subdued, which makes it a nice place for quiet conversation. Service was attentive throughout the evening, although it did take about 10 minutes before our server first stopped by. Certainly not cheap - but it's not meant to be, and I don't believe the prices were unreasonable for the quality of the food. Everything we had off the menu was excellent - king prawns, cioppino, and filet mignon were all fantastic.
We heard about the Kincaid Grill from a 2017 article in the New York Times, "36 Hours in Anchorage." Given we were flying home from a two-week visit to Alaska on a 8:40 p.m. flight, knew the Kincaid Grill opened for dinner at 5:00 p.m., and was just minutes from the airport erminal it seemed worth trying. What a great idea that turned out to be. The staff assured us we would be out in time for our flight. It was one of the best meals we have ever had and the chef greeted us, answered our questions about the menu, took our orders, and checked in regularly. They were offering a five course tasting menu that night and I am sorry we did not have time to order it. Still, the Salmon and Halibut dishes we did enjoy were creative and among the best seafood we have ever eaten. We even had time to try their goats cheese cake for dessert, return our rental car, and check in for our flight almost two hours early. What a perfect ending to a wonderful Alaskan vacation.
We capped off the last meal of our vacation at Kincaid, and it was perfect in every way. Anchorage a few well-recognized dinner options, but Kincaid has got to be on the top of the list. Don't let that location be a reason not to go; it's less than ten minutes from the center of town.
They are near the airport because they provide catering to all the private jets to refuel in Anchorage on route to the Asia.
Make Kincaid your first stop - it's worth it
We heard they had great seafood, but they were out of salmon and halibut. We did not want to settle for shellfish, so we did not order entrees. Appetizers and salads were pretty good, but we probably wont give them another chance.
the food and drinks were great. It seemed a little upscale. I enjoyed it and recommend it welcomes foreigners a little more. We were visiting from elsewhere and were running around sightseeing all day. It seemed a little snobbish.
Overall one entre was very good, especially my wife's halibut. Beautifully prepared. My filet mignon was ordered medium. It was rare, on the tough side, and I decided to not return it. The sauce was well prepared. The service unfortunately was lacking. When the waiter initially greeted us, he told us the specials, did not offer us choice of a drink, and disappeared. I had to overtly flag him down after a long wait to order drinks as we decided on a dinner. Barely a smile throughout if not a perfunctory one, and we really tried to be gracious to win him over. The service improved later but too little too late. Perhaps we were at the wrong time and place with the dining gods.
