About Kin Sushi and Thai Cuisine
This little Noble Square BYOB serves classic Thai noodle and rice dishes (aromatic curries are among the menu highlights) and sushi. The sushi menu focuses on nigiri and maki; expect plenty of house specialty rolls. The decor in the minimalist two-room space is a step up from your usual neighborhood Thai joint, with candlelit tables and clean, modern lines throughout.

Kin Sushi and Thai Cuisine Ratings and Reviews
I went with 4 other people and we all ordered several rolls to share, pineapple fried rice, and an order of pad Thai. The food was delicious and the price was very good. It's BYOB with no corking fee. Overall, fantastic experience! We will definitely be going back.
After reviewing many Thai and sushi restaurants I noticed Kin Sushi and Thai to have consistently great reviews. I called a few friends and met for dinner with beer and wine in tow. The food exceeded my expectations! I ordered curry with tofu (I'm a loser-vegan) and it was sensational ! The others ordered octopus, egg rolls, a selection of various salads, several orders of sashimi and sushi rolls. Everything ordered was super-fresh and perfectly prepared. If you want a great meal, uber casual atmosphere and friendly service head over--you won't be disappointed.
Iv been here plenty of times. I love this place especially since my husband has many food options and does not like sushi. His chicken rice and our friends beef fried rice came out before our (3) sushi rolls. They actually finished and went to get another bottle of wine before our rolls came out. Which i thought was strange since the waitress came and asked us to put our order in before a larger group did. This experience wont stop me from coming in again. Just was a little tough when your bringing in others who have never been and you raved about the place.
We had heard some good things about this place and it is close to our home, so we decided to give them a try on a quiet evening. Sad to say, it was a very disappointing experience. The service was very slow in the half-filled restaurant, and there was no item that we ordered that we would come back for, or order again. We tried about seven dishes, including both sushi and Thai items, and nothing suggested an encore. Maybe it was an off night.
Experience was great! Good food, portions, prices, it was quiet enough to talk. Just one very small complaint...We brought our own wine, so I would have liked the server to offer to open it right away and provide us with a bucket of ice. Instead, we had to ask. Other than that, it was great. I'll likely go back.
First time to this establishment. Rec'd a friendly welcome and was seated immediately. Noticeably dark in the restaurant- so much so, we used our cells or a flashlight to read the menu.
6 of us in the party- 5 were served dinner together, but I sat for a good 15 minutes waiting. Nothing was said to me about my order. I attempted to get the attention of our server with no luck. Finally dinner arrived without anything more than a chuckle when I said " I was beginning to think you forgot me".
I won't be returning anytime soon.
We were looking for a Thai restaurant that was open on a Monday as it was my husbands birthday. As there are not many that are we decided to try out somebody new. Glad we did! Kin Sushi and Thai has a wonderful menu which is definitely authentic and provides a choice for every taste. The food we ordered (a Thai Curry for example) was very tasty and the nearby liquor store (2 doors down) sits perfectly for this BYOB joint. staff couldn't have been friendlier (we had our three year old with us) and whilst leaving we already decided that we would be back another time. Warm place, I recommend it.
We went to Kin (party of 6), for a reunion amongst friends. The experience was great!
What we liked about this restaurant was the fact that it is BYOB, it cut down the cost of dining at the location, and allowed us to try more food. Their octopus and their tofu is great!
Furthermore, the ambience is well suited for a large party, in fact, most of the tables there were at least parties of 4-10. It's a small place, but it works well for the place.
We arrived a bit on the early side for Saturday dinner -- on account of the toddler in our midst -- and were seated immediately. The service was quick and non-intrusive, the staff did not hover but promptly refilled glasses and removed dirty plates. The food is great -- the chicken satay and the seaweed salad were both excellent; all three curries were rich-tasting but not overwhelming.
I'm not sure if I ordered wrong or if the food wasn't good enough. I felt the 'fried' items were way overdone and greasy. The nagiri pieces didn't feel cold and luke-warm fish is not appetizing. I'm willing to try it again, but for this first time I was not impressed.
I made a reservation, walked in and as we were being seated, I noticed the couple sitting next to us were still wearing their jackets. We asked for the heat to be turned up and they brought us a small, white space heater to put under our table. Unfortunately, I didn't feel very comfortable and I didn't want to eat the entire meal with my jacket on so we left before we were asked to order.
Had an overall great experience - my sushi was fresh and tasty and the fact that the establishment is BYOB is even better. No cork fee. Will definitely be back. My debit card unknowingly fell out under my seat when I left - the server was kind enough to chase me down outside in the snow to give it back to me. Great service. Thank you!
The food was quite good, but at least 3 of the dishes seemed to have been forgotten altogether and only after asking multiple times were they brought out about 30 minutes after the rest of the party had finished eating. Poor service really killed this place for us.
I offered to take my friend out to sushi for his birthday, and he suggested this restaurant. Actually, he thought this place was Nori (he had never been to Kin before, as it turns out), so our visit here was a "mistake". I'm glad we ended up here, though! The restaurant was totally empty from when we sat down to the time we left (about 1.5 hours), which was a little off-putting...but, it was quiet and the maki was excellent. Our waitress, despite the fact we were the only in-house customers (their phone orders were piled up the entire time) seemed impatient, as if she was trying to rush us out the door the entire time. Additionally, I ordered edamame and egg rolls at the beginning, but only received edamame. I didn't say anything.
I had high expectations for Kin Sushi because the reviews were so good, they could accommodate a group, and they were BYOB. The food was really good. Our group had both sushi and thai and everyone was pleased with their order. The service however was very slow, it took a very long time to place our order and to get our entrees. There was a lot of time in between receiving our appetizers and when our entrees came out. The restaurant is very small and because there was another large group in the restaurant, the tables were spaced very close together. I think I would go again because the food was good and it was BYOB but I would not go again in a group: 2 or 3 people at most.
We had delicious food at Kin Sushi on Saturday night. We ordered both Japaneses and Thai food.(dragon rolls and pad thai-tasty!)I liked the small, personal touches that the restaurant made like creating an origami rose out of the top of the straw paper and the "nest" of carrots used on the side of many dishes. We were there early and the waitress was very attentive.Perfect place to go before seeing a show at Chopin Theater!
