Kimo's Restaurant Maui
Was great food was good. But service was a little slow our waiter took his time when we needed something but overall it was great!
Lovely casual outdoor space, friendly service, interesting menu somewhat different than the usual in Maui due to the varied chefs’ input. Delicious specialty sushi rolls, fish cooked perfectly.
Thanks so much to our nice server. We had a wonderful meal
Kimo’s is one of our go to places every time we visit Maui. The restaurant is located on Front Street in Lahina and has amazing views of the ocean. The tiki torches also add to the ambiance. I had the pink snapper, a very light and buttery fish, also known as OPAKAPAKA. It was cooked in a butter & garlic sauce with sweet basil. It was so delicious! Our server recommended adding the lemon blanc sauce on the rice which was a great addition to my meal. Afterwards the four of us shared a slice of the Hula Pie. It was super yummy and plenty for four of us to share.
I went with my family to Kimo’s to celebrate my 30th birthday. We love coming here every time we visit Maui. All our meals were delicious. We started out with the macadamia nut calamari which we had not tried previously and it was great! You cannot beat this view and ambiance for dinner. The sunset was beautiful. If you are in Lahaina, this is a must go to.
Great service and great food!
Good experience overall. Service could have been better, it was not bad, but not great either.
Kimo’s is over the hill. The food was blah the service was scattered the location rocked. I would suggest all the management and staff book an evening at Fleetwood’s on First Street and learn how the same ingredients and same local people could transform run-down Kimo’s into an awesome destination. Right now, go someplace else.
It has been several years since we've been to Kimo's, so we decided to give it a try. We had a nice meal, the food was pretty good, and the service was competent. I was disappointed in the Mai Tai - I tried Mai Tai's in three different restaurants on this trip and found them all to be lackluster. Honestly, I would be happier to find a restaurant that relied on the Trader Vic's mix (includes the rum) that we stop to buy at Costco every time we come to Maui (it is also available at several other retail outlets on the island). It's a tiny bit too sweet, but superior to every Mai Tai I tried while dining out on this trip.
I made reservations. We arrived on time and were promptly seated. Ordered and appetizer and drinks. We were pressured to quickly order dinner so we did. The drinks and appetizer arrived and were frankly just okay. Our dinner choices on the other hand were amazing. With all of the other restaurants in Lahaina we will likely go elsewhere for a better experience for the price.
Food and view amazing!
We made a 5:30 reservation so that we could dine at sunset. The deck, which is right on the water, was the perfect setting for a romantic anniversary dinner. The fish we ordered was well-prepared, and sharing the hula pie was the perfect way to cap off a delicious meal.
The ambiance was fantastic as we had dinner during sunset. All of our meals were prepared perfectly (catch of the day - wahoo and another I can’t pronounce. Hula pie (of course) was worth every calorie!
We Drove from Wailea to go here off reviews. It’s was “eh” at best. It was night so there were not views. Server was very sweet. The “famous” hula pie tasted of freezer burn.
Food was excellent, but the Service was even better. Graham is an outstanding waiter. Very attentive and observant. Will definitely return for a 3rd visit next year!
Really appreciate your kindness
Thank you from KOREA
Mimi is the best for me
We have been enjoying Kimo’s since our first trip to Maui in 1983 and still our favorite place when we visit. Great food, great service and the best sunsets around. And the entertainment was excellent. Thanks again for a great experience!
A favorite. Highly recommended. Great views, drinks, and fish!
Our server (Kimo) was great. Very personable and perfectly attentive. The food was spot-on perfect, cooked to perfection and the portion was just right.
We will make Kimos our first dinner stop every time we visit Maui.
Grandparents 51st Anniversary dinner, over the top experience. Highly recommend any of the fresh fish of the day prepared the way the recommend, can’t go wrong. Drinks were pricey but delicious. I’ll take another!
Great view, great service, great food!
Stopped into Kimo's for some appetizers and drinks while in Lahaina for the day. Ahi sashimi was delicious, but fire-roasted vegetable dip was disappointing. It was very watery and difficult to put on the flatbread that came with it. Also ordered a Pina Colada that had about 3 drops of rum in it. Server was very attentive and outdoor seating area was pleasant, so not a total loss.
Great food and service. Sea front dining on two floors.
Outstanding food and service! Would go back =)
Great service and food! Lovely ambience. Hula pie was outstanding.
Always a winner. The opakapaka was amazing. Best hula pie on the island.
I made reservations over a month ago and had noted in my reservation that I preferred a table outside to view the sunset . They didn’t accommodate me at all . We were seated inside. The food was mediocre. The waiter was very nice however I wasn’t impressed with their food nor their service.
Service and food was good.. Live music a plus for this restaurant..
Used to eat their fish, which was delicious. Have since gone vegetarian. The Tofu was sooo good that I didn’t miss the fish.
Service was so friendly. When we requested, they helped get us seated by the water, and it was a packed house. The live music was really nice as well as was the general evening ambiance, just lovely. Great food too, had the crab and prawn salad, perfect.
I have said it before, and I'll say it again, Kimo's is the only place that I would make the effort to drive from the other side of the island and the very few places that I share with friends from near and far.
Kimo's never lets me down, from the awesome table, to the friendly, efficient and personable service, to the mouth watering - words are hard to come by to adequately describe the - palate pleasing entrées and the signature hula pie, to the highly anticipated night cap of our evening, chip shots!
Thank you Kimo's for yet another most memorable evening!
Our waitress and the food were great! The hostess at the checkin desk was rude. She was so rude, one member of our party left and would not stay for dinner. We had reservations, made several weeks ahead. At the 30 minutes over the reservation time, our friend checked in with the hostess to see how we were doing with our time. The hostess responded “We’re working on it, is that a good enough answer for you?” The manager didn’t seem too concerned. Not sure we will return to Kimo’s.
We came to eat here for our honeymoon. Our reservation was at 6:15pm, we came in after others that had a reservation as well. They were seated and we were told it would be a five minute wait. We were seated close to the ocean edge, it was a beautiful view.
We tried to order a Caesar salad with chicken and were told the chefs do not do that. Instead I ordered chicken with rice and my husband got fish and rice. It was a good meal. More on the expensive side for sure. Would probably come back for lunch instead next time and still make a reservation. This place was packed.
Overall experience was very good! Beautiful views and delicious fish entrees. Only complaint, the two hostess’ were unfriendly and made the start of our experience an unpleasant one. But thankfully our waiter, food and ambiance made up for their uninviting welcome.
Great service from the moment we arrived. Waiter was attentive and low key. Despite a full house I was amazed at how relaxed and welcoming the wait staff were. Food portions were a reasonable size for the health conscious and flavorful.
Although I was disappointed with the seating as I requested a long time ago to have a table by the water. We waiting 30 minutes past our original reservation. The food was ok, for me a touch overprice but I guess the location has a part to play. I would recommend but not my first choice. Sorry. Ps the Hula pie was ok it was better on Kawai .
Great time at Kimo’s again this year. Terrific fish, ribs and tofu (and I don’t like tofu).
Can’t go wrong here and we come every year in Maui.
Not able to sit close to the ocean but our waitress was quite wonderful and went out of her way to make sure we had a great time. Provided great meal suggestions. We had the prime ribs and mahi-mahi Kimo style. Both tasted great! Topped off with Hula Pie. Yum!
Too hot - Not enough places by the water
