Been a regular for a few years. Managed 5 dinners at Kimo’s during this stay in Maui.
See you Jan & Feb 2022
This was the worst meal we have had on Maui. The fish was tough, the rice and macaroni salad tasted like paper! We were very polite in expressing our displeasure to our server but she could not be bothered. Unfortunately this makes me want to not return!
Kimo’s has sure shortened its menu, service, huge price increase and overall experience!
We will not be coming back!
Wonderful view romantic table. Good food and service
Love listening to Benny on Sunday and Monday nights -- he's the best! One of our favorite restaurants on Maui!
Very loud, tables close together. Food was expensive and just so, so. Kilos was recommended to us and we were disappointed with the food. Your paying for a 4 star meal and only getting a three star
Excellent food as usual. Top notch seafood. Views overlooking Lanai and Lahaina Harbor are fantastic! Crowded and noisy and long wait to be seated but worth it. Never been disappointed at Kimos
Victor was lovely and the view was incredible. Beautiful sunset
We love this restaurant!! Food, service and atmosphere all great
Delicious food and drink with spectacular views.
Great ocean view, good food and good service makes Kimo’s a restaurant we always enjoy when in Maui!
Food Was really good. Our server was great explained all the fish options and how they are prepared. Only complaint seemed as if they were running behind. We showed up at 7:00pm had a 7:15pm reservation and didn’t get a table until after 7:30pm. Other than that great food great atmosphere.
Just OK, waitress emphasized up sales two much to the point Kimos looks like it is more about high volume and up sales rather than great food and service. Don't think I would hurry back. Try Lahania Grill instead.
Vacationing in Maui and taking my remaining party of 6. Food was awesome. Only issue I thing they might look into is find a more efficient to seat the entire upstairs with the 4:45p seatings. Example; We arrived at 4:35 for our meal time. The hostess instructed us to maybe go shopping or something else and return by 4:45.
To our surprise, when we did return 10 minutes later, we were now at the very end of the line when the manager arrived.
Of course it put us last to get our dinner and beverages.
We thought the hostess would had asked us to start the massive line for the 4:45 reservation time.
This restaurant has excellent seafood, a beautiful ambience on the beach, a good list of wines by the glass, a good cocktail offering and decent draft beer selection; on top of all that the service is remarkable- not only excellent job by waiters but the most efficient process of scheduling, seating, and table clearing that we have seen in Hawaii.
We have been to Maui four times now and Kimo's is our go dining spot. Wonderful.
Awesome experience. Seated upstairs front row right next to street view of ocean.
Kimo's - we had high hopes, but it was kind of a downer meal. The place has a great view and the atmosphere is busy and very scenic. You really can't beat their location. Our server, Seth, was on point for the meal, carrying the whole menu and the fish selection in his head as well as the whole dessert menu and taking our orders from memory. Drinks were good, place was clean, no complaints on that front. The thing that I think got away from the meal was that the location was sizeable - probably seating over 100 tables (4-6 people x 100 tables = 500ish orders at once not counting apps) - and we were seated and placed our order right at the front of a wave of others so our meal got tied up when the kitchen got hit pretty hard. As a result, both of our dishes (both fish) were overcooked and my wife's was cold. Our sides (veg) were both underdone and cold as well - which is understandable when you've got one kitchen serving out that much food in one rush, kitchens get whacked. They happened to get whacked when we were there, and that stinks. On the plus side, all the seasoning on both our dishes were right on the mark - what was coconut crusted was coconut flavored, lemon dishes had lemon in them, salt was on point, things were seared to the right degree... they just overcooked under the lamps or while they were staging for the rest of the dish to come together because of the backlog. We saw it coming when our wait time between order and plating stretched out - we've worked in the business and knew what it meant. Things happen when kitchens get backlogged. Not much you can do about it sometimes.
On a high note: Hula Pie. Try it. Giant dome-shaped ice cream pie slice, drowning in a rich chocolate sauce with a great crust underneath it... sweet mercy! We'd go back when there's less of a rush or just for the Hula Pie. They're doing good things, but you've got to time it right to get the kitchen at their best.
Fabulous Parmesan crusted ono tonight! It was a tough decision with Five fresh fish options to choose from. Our fish was perfectly cooked and as delicious as always. The hula pie is always a special treat too! Kimos is our favorite on Maui!
Dining with family. Everyone thought the food was okay but nothing spectacular. I eat at the same restaurant 2 years ago and had a very memorable family dinner and this experience was the main reason for a return visit.
Great food for value (not fine dining), get a table by the water. Live music was awesome! We come here every year when we visit
We were very impressed with the waitresses explanation of the fish and preparation. We were also impressed with what appeared to be team service for ordering, service, table cleaning - very efficient and pleasant
Awesome view at sunset, highly recommend for that...
Kimo’s was a very pleasant surprise. The food was good, the service excellent and the prices were good for Maui restaurants. We had the calamari and it was very meaty, not thin and chewy like most you have, and had a very flavorful breading and cocktail sauce. My wife had the poke avocado goat cheese appetizer for her main dish and it was just right. I had the Molokai cut prime rib and it was tender and done to my specifications (medium rare - which is hard to get right). We finished the meal off with the Hula pie, which was incredible. Macadamia nut ice cream over Oreo cookie crust topped with crumbles and chocolate sauce was more than enough for two people. We got there late but I imagine it would be a great place to watch the sun set over the water. Highly recommend!
Great views and very good fish options with different preparations. Delish. Also loved the brussel sprout hash and of course the Hula Pie
Great food and great service!!
