Kimo's Restaurant Maui
We Drove from Wailea to go here off reviews. It’s was “eh” at best. It was night so there were not views. Server was very sweet. The “famous” hula pie tasted of freezer burn.
Food was excellent, but the Service was even better. Graham is an outstanding waiter. Very attentive and observant. Will definitely return for a 3rd visit next year!
Really appreciate your kindness
Thank you from KOREA
Mimi is the best for me
We have been enjoying Kimo’s since our first trip to Maui in 1983 and still our favorite place when we visit. Great food, great service and the best sunsets around. And the entertainment was excellent. Thanks again for a great experience!
A favorite. Highly recommended. Great views, drinks, and fish!
Our server (Kimo) was great. Very personable and perfectly attentive. The food was spot-on perfect, cooked to perfection and the portion was just right.
We will make Kimos our first dinner stop every time we visit Maui.
Grandparents 51st Anniversary dinner, over the top experience. Highly recommend any of the fresh fish of the day prepared the way the recommend, can’t go wrong. Drinks were pricey but delicious. I’ll take another!
Great view, great service, great food!
Great food and service. Sea front dining on two floors.
Outstanding food and service! Would go back =)
Great service and food! Lovely ambience. Hula pie was outstanding.
Always a winner. The opakapaka was amazing. Best hula pie on the island.
I made reservations over a month ago and had noted in my reservation that I preferred a table outside to view the sunset . They didn’t accommodate me at all . We were seated inside. The food was mediocre. The waiter was very nice however I wasn’t impressed with their food nor their service.
Service and food was good.. Live music a plus for this restaurant..
Used to eat their fish, which was delicious. Have since gone vegetarian. The Tofu was sooo good that I didn’t miss the fish.
Service was so friendly. When we requested, they helped get us seated by the water, and it was a packed house. The live music was really nice as well as was the general evening ambiance, just lovely. Great food too, had the crab and prawn salad, perfect.
I have said it before, and I'll say it again, Kimo's is the only place that I would make the effort to drive from the other side of the island and the very few places that I share with friends from near and far.
Kimo's never lets me down, from the awesome table, to the friendly, efficient and personable service, to the mouth watering - words are hard to come by to adequately describe the - palate pleasing entrées and the signature hula pie, to the highly anticipated night cap of our evening, chip shots!
Thank you Kimo's for yet another most memorable evening!
Our waitress and the food were great! The hostess at the checkin desk was rude. She was so rude, one member of our party left and would not stay for dinner. We had reservations, made several weeks ahead. At the 30 minutes over the reservation time, our friend checked in with the hostess to see how we were doing with our time. The hostess responded “We’re working on it, is that a good enough answer for you?” The manager didn’t seem too concerned. Not sure we will return to Kimo’s.
We came to eat here for our honeymoon. Our reservation was at 6:15pm, we came in after others that had a reservation as well. They were seated and we were told it would be a five minute wait. We were seated close to the ocean edge, it was a beautiful view.
We tried to order a Caesar salad with chicken and were told the chefs do not do that. Instead I ordered chicken with rice and my husband got fish and rice. It was a good meal. More on the expensive side for sure. Would probably come back for lunch instead next time and still make a reservation. This place was packed.
Overall experience was very good! Beautiful views and delicious fish entrees. Only complaint, the two hostess’ were unfriendly and made the start of our experience an unpleasant one. But thankfully our waiter, food and ambiance made up for their uninviting welcome.
Great service from the moment we arrived. Waiter was attentive and low key. Despite a full house I was amazed at how relaxed and welcoming the wait staff were. Food portions were a reasonable size for the health conscious and flavorful.
Although I was disappointed with the seating as I requested a long time ago to have a table by the water. We waiting 30 minutes past our original reservation. The food was ok, for me a touch overprice but I guess the location has a part to play. I would recommend but not my first choice. Sorry. Ps the Hula pie was ok it was better on Kawai .
Great time at Kimo’s again this year. Terrific fish, ribs and tofu (and I don’t like tofu).
Can’t go wrong here and we come every year in Maui.
Not able to sit close to the ocean but our waitress was quite wonderful and went out of her way to make sure we had a great time. Provided great meal suggestions. We had the prime ribs and mahi-mahi Kimo style. Both tasted great! Topped off with Hula Pie. Yum!
Too hot - Not enough places by the water
Seafood was fresh and prime rib was excellent. Service was outstanding: we were checked on frequently, food came out nicely prepared and didn’t take much time to arrive on our table, friendly and attentive staff from the hosts to the servers. I’m definitely dining with them again.
Unusually small portions, but great venue
Our server, Dave, provided exceptional recommendations from drinks to appetizers and main course.
A 5 Star recommendation
We ate here twice; once for lunch and once for dinner. The calamari appetizer is one of the best we’ve had. Service was great. Special of pink snapper was amazing. We ordered it Kimo’s way and Parmesan crusted. Highly recommend! Oh, and the Hula Pie.. the picture says is all.
The food was yummy and our server (Graham) was excellent! I was, however, disappointed with the table we received especially since I chose anniversary when I made the reservation. We were celebrating our 17 year anniversary with our two daughters in Maui. I was hoping for an intimate upscale place for such an occasion. The concierge at our hotel recommended Kimo’s. They sat us upstairs which could have been nice if we were out on the end overlooking the ocean. But we got a table right at the top of the stairs and only two of us had a view and it was a small view. It was extremely hot upstairs towards the back and we were kind of dressed up for the occasion. The noise level was also too loud for an intimate conversation. I think if you go to the trouble of making a reservation and say it’s an Anniversary they should reserve the best tables. We had to ask to take some pictures by the edge but we were trying to be quick as to not disrupt the people eating there and I didn’t get a great photo to capture that night unfortunately. It just wasn’t what I had in mind for that special night.
The food was good and the portions were average to small. The service was erratic and I never saw a smile on any of the staff - they all looked like they were stressed and could hardly wait until they could end their shifts. Was expecting more.
We usually get a good meal here, however; last night both meals we ordered were fish and tasted old. Definitely not the fresh fish we’ve been having here on the islands. We didn’t finish our meal... so sad!
It was my birthday celebration and the service was great and the Hula Pie was amazing as usual.
Happy Hour needs to be improved, drink menu is subpar.
Food was fantastic! I'm not big on fish, but had the parmesan crusted Ono and it was delicious! Wife had the baked kimo's style mahi and then we split a hula pie.
Service and atmosphere were excellent as well. We've never had a bad meal or dining experience here.
Spectacular view! Best burger I’ve had in a long time.
Great location! Lucky to get a table by the sea. The fish was well prepared. The wine list was excellent. The hula pie is worth the calories.
My husband and I ordered Ono and the Filet, then shared each. They were both outstanding. Appetizers, beet salad and muffins were also all wonderful. Our server, Janet, could not have been nicer or more efficient. This is our second time at Kimo’s. Both times were outstanding. We will be back!!
Best dinner my wife and I ate in Maui. She got the Mahi Mahi and I got the Prime Ride, they were both awesome!
We were celebrating our anniversary and went to one of our very favorite restaurants in Maui. Our waiter Dave made our evening memorable. Food was great, we had Parmesan Mahi mahi-mahi and 2 mai tai cocktails. What a wonderful evening thanks to Dave who got us a table on the upper railing for the best sunset view. We’ll always return to Kimo’s.
