Kimo's Restaurant Maui
Wonderful food, great service, delicious drinks and an unbelievable view.
The food & service was outstanding. The portions were adequate and you get great value for your money.
Ocean views were wonderful! Food was good but nothing special. Waitress was pleasant but my son in law ordered the prime rib and she didn’t ask what size he wanted and just brought him the largest cut at $64!
Kimo’s is always reliable and delicious.
Nothing special on this trip
Wonderful in every way!
Great choice in Lahaina Historical Centre. Try the fish tacos and the Smoothies from the kids menu. Excelent.
Ono was overdone. A real shame for such a delicious fish. Marlin, although cooked to proper level, was ruined by cloying coconut coating. Don"t understand need to "fancy up" a good piece of fish with overpowering incompatible flavors. Restaurant improved from two years ago but not as good as last year.
Overall everything was just ok. The service was fine and the food decent. The entire experience just felt dated and a tourist trap.
Always great food, great service and great atmosphere
Seat request for outside was honored; short wait at bar. Except for the hostess stand team — who were outstanding — the bar and wait staff just seemed shell shocked by the hordes of tourists; neither our bartender nor waiter really engaged with us and just seemed to be going through the motions. Sunset view was lovely. “Kucumber” cocktail was very good. Prime rib and ono were fresh. Found the Kimo’s sauce (lemon butter herb) to be too heavy for the delicate fish. The Pinot noir by the glass ($13) was not good. Steamed vegetables as the default side were okay. Mashed potatoes were good. Overall, a lovely view, adequate service and a dated menu. Cannot recommend.
Our waiter: Amazing
Staff at front door: Needs work.
Nice wine list, food was yummy and a good selection to pick from. Shrimp pasta was delicious
Kimo’s is a nice place but overall the food was just OK. I had fish that was a bit dry and my partner had the chicken which was bland. The Hula pie is really just a large hot fudge sundae. Not sure what all the hype was about.
It was good.
Group of 6 had lunch today Nice table upstairs Good food and Service Fish and chips were great Good service
Really nice on the ocean dining.
Always great food. Coconut crusted marlin was delicious.
The views were amazing but that couldn't overcome the quality of the food and service. The waiter was disinterested in being there and everyone at the restaurant acted like they hated being there. The quality of the fish was poor and the sides were cold and saturated in butter and/or oil. Very disappointed and definitely wouldn’t recommend to a friend. There are plenty of better options in the Lahaina area that provide the quality of food and service that match the incredible views.
Great tradition ti eat here each tome we visit Naui
Okay for the day. Good server with a great attitude. Food was average. Drinks were average.
The food was terrific, great drinks and service!!! We will return again this trip!
Been coming for years. This trip the Ribs on 3 plates were dry, the fries cold and way oversalted, the fish was overcooked. Out of 6 plates all 6 had issues. But the server was great, location was great Hula pie is great. Just feel like the quality control has been moving down. Portion sizes have shrink as well.Im not a picky reviewer, was just surprised our past couple visits have kept going down. What used to be one of the best in Lahina has moved down the list when there are cheaper better tasting options now.
Always a good bet when on Maui. Great location, great choices of local fish.
We loved every minute of our night there! Wait and hostess staff was amazing, food was fabulous and ambiance was lovely! Highly recommend!
A must every time I come to Lahaina. The fish sandwich for lunch or fish entree for dinner. Food is always good and fast. Views to kill for
Jim, our server, was awesome. The views and comfort level was perfect. Food was delicious. One thing iI noticed about the staff, they all worked together so well. I saw one busy staff member stop what they were doing so they can help another busy staff member so the customer experience was improved. I like that and speaks volumes to the way they all are customer focused. I live in NY. If I ever make it back to Maui, this is one place I would like to come back to visit and dine.
Delicious food, friendly staff, great location. Can’t wait to go back. Don’t miss the hula pie! AMAZING!
We had my partners birthday here and I requested a table with a view/closest to water. We got seated upstairs in a two person table right on the ledge outside and it was so perfect. Great ambiance, INCREDIBLE service. They had a cocktail runner to assist with empty drinks and new ones which is such a big deal to me. The food was delicious and our servers timing was perfect. I wish I could remember his name! That was the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time while living here
Great place for dinner with a view! We really enjoyed the whole experience from pre-drinks at the bar to our table overlooking the water to the YUMMY dessert! And it was fun to stroll through Lahaina after dinner.
Kimo's is rock solid - consistently good service, excellent food and a setting that's (very) hard to beat! Our recent dinner experience was superb- great service from Marie, excellent food and a table that was right on the water's edge and perfect for watching the evening sunset. The restaurant was busy, as usual, but the service was swift and efficient. I was impressed with how well things are organized, recognizing that it's not easy to do with all the moving parts. Well done, Marie and team at Kimo's!
Prime rib was very good
Maui was too hard to chew. Drinks good service prompt.
Kimos was good. Lots if servers, we felt well tender to. The breeze off the ocean was nice. The beet salad and poke appetizers were great. The amusebouche of carrot cake muffins was delish. The drinks very traditional hawaiian. The fish was overcooked but sauces nice. The dessert, the hula pie, was phenomenal. Good hot fudge, great ice cream, Do not miss the dessert!!
Great place. Fantastic service. Good drinks. Fish was delicious. Incredible views. Ice cream pie dessert was outstanding. A bit loud/cramped - it’s a high-volume place not a quiet dinner. Still definitely recommend.
I’ve been going to Kimos for as long as they’ve been open. Still a must visit restaurant. The food is excellent, the service is awesome and the waterfront location is just breathtaking.
I have been going here for years. It has changed over the years for the worst. People will still go because of the location and mud pie but it has become more corporate and less Aloha. Use to have the best salad on the planet but now it is not as much of a wow factor. At least they still have those wonderful carrot muffins. The portions were tiny and they hardly put any sauce on the fish. We literally had to buy more food somewhere else after dinner because we were still hungry. I have filled out comment cards 3 times but have NEVER been contacted so I will voice my concerns on social media. I feel that the fish choices are better at Leilani’s. In the past 3 visits no opah, monchong or OPAKAPAKA. I can have mahi mahi in California. I have the opportunity to eat more opah in the Bay Area at pacific catch than I do at kimos.
Quiet luncheon for a family. Food was good but service was great!
We've dined at Kimo's many, many times over the 38 years that we've been visiting Maui, and make it a point to always dine there when staying on Maui. Kimo's offers a wonderfully casual and inviting atmosphere, with excellent food and service. The place is always crowded, so reservations are a must, and service in the lanai bar can be slow on a busy night. There are a few better restaurants on Maui, but for a casual dining experience at a reasonable (for Maui) price, Kimo's is pretty hard to beat. We wouldn't visit Maui without dining at Kimo's.
Simply disappointing...Terrible food including overcooked and dry fish, lousy service with a server who was robotic and never made eye contact and a very worn down restaurant, it may be an institution but it’s dying.
